Everything was great except the waiter. We got sat before everyone in our area. Every single table got their food before us. Food was awesome but the terrible service killed the mood.

I hadn't been to BB in awhile. Overall it was as I remembered bu the Kung Bao was a major disappointment: overly sauced and gloppy, very salty without being flavorful

Big Bowl is a non-pretentious Chinese/Thai restaurant easy to get to from Michigan Ave. It has an extensive menu in both of their main food venues, the service was superb and the bartender helpful with drink suggestions to pair with our food orders. Wish we had one in Milwaukee!!

It was our first time trying Big Bowl and we were not disappointed at all. We went their for dinner got the potstickers with strawberry sangria (which was the best sangria I’ve had. It was light and super fruity) and our dinners were pad Thai and sesame chicken with noodles. We ended up going back the next day for lunch.

Big Bowl is a downtown place where we often take out of town friends to dine. I've never tried a group outing there before, but many colleagues were in town for a conference so I figured why not? Plus appetizers were half price at the bar, and on Monday, when we went, bottles of wine were half price. The staff was great, from the bartender to the waitstaff (thanks, Nick!), to the hostess who helped us gather our plates, bottles, and glasses over to our table.
After days of full course conference meals, most of us ordered a la carte, which meant that Nick was going back and forth from the kitchen to our table, but he took it all in stride.
Each appetizer and main dish was not only great but healthy and hot! Their signature green beans were spicy and crisp. Even the edamame had a little extra flair with the addition of sesame seeds. Vegans and carnivores alike were not only sated but pleasantly pleased with the variety and quality of food and beverage options and the ambiance.
Nice going, Big Bowl!

Food is always good. The space is very tired and unattractive. Looks like they haven't invested anything in keeping it updated or fresh. Menu prices have all seemed to go up.

There were “hairs” in food. Explained away by manager as part of the ginger root not fully pulverized. Still a problem eating if that was the case.

The food was just awful. The chicken satay was filled with gristle. Left most on the plate. I was afraid to order anything else with chicken. Ordered Vegetable Pad Thai which was really flavorless. The serving was enormous and I felt guilty leaving over half of the plate but I just couldn’t gag it down. My companion had cashew chicken and it wasn’t much better in the flavor department. I had seen reviews of 4.5 and I can’t understand that. I only gave this pace more than one star was because our server Julia who tried very hard. Also it didn’t feel that clean there.

Waiter accounted for my allergies extremely well, the chef even brought out my food himself. Food was enormous portions, and they were able to seat my party of 11 on a Saturday night with a 10 minute wait. Amazing overall, would highly recommend with a plethora of great options

food was strictly OK, Noisy and in need of better ventilation. Service so / so. needed to ask to find server, needed to wait for check....Much better options in the LEY group, much less down town. Most likely wont be back. Kind of a shame was looking for a nice meal with a fun vibe...

Very disappointed. I don’t get downtown very often, but the Big Bowl was always something I looked forward to when attending a play. Took my daughter, son in law, 2 children and my husband for dinner after a play. Was soo excited to introduce them to the Big Bowl. I was embarrassed at how dirty the restaurant was! The bathrooms were soo bad, I hated to even use them. Our Egg rolls were burnt and the chicken Satay was undercooked. I also had the Terayki Chicken Fried Rice and it had no flavor and the chicken in it was hard, along with some foreign pieces that I don’t believe belonged in that dish! My family members were polite in not wanting to hurt my feelings, but did not enjoy their meals also. Soo Soo disappointed!!

The waitress was not very friendly and our booth was not clean. There was food residue on the seats as well as on the floor in our seating area. The waitress seemed annoyed and it was reflected in her service.
