Service and food were great! The homemade veal ravioli was delicious! My husband thought the linguine w/clam sauce was very good, & friends both got shrimp w/pasta & were both very pleased w/their meal. Only drawback is the noticeable smell from the neighboring nail salon. It’s not as bad in the back room away from the front & bar areas.
The food is outstanding. It’s a little expensive for the area, but a place I have chosen on several occasions.
Our favorite and best food and service! Our go to for any occasion!
Always great , never disappoints
I would definitely recommend Bianco Rosso to a friend. All three of us thought the food was delicious, and the service was very fine. We enjoyed the quiet, as well.
Love this place! Third time here. Food excellent
Our first time.
Very good food, well served, in a nice atmosphere.
Maybe a little noisy, especially for a non-weekend.
But we'll go there again.
You should, too.
Great food as usual.
Overall 4 stars based on the food. Overcame other issues below.
Food was excellent! We shared the tuna tartare - fresh; nice balance of tuna and avocado; eggplant parm - delicious! (menu noted prosciutto, which we assumed would be IN the parm, but it was a garnish! -- good for non ham eaters, but seemed odd), & octopus -- very tender and sweet.. All fabulous!
Entrees, 3 soft shell crabs nice sized, and while menu noted on a bed of arugula, etc., arrived with the salad on top -- makes no sense to put wet salad on top of crispy, pan-fried crabs! easily fixed, but an odd presentation -- hide the star! The veal milanese was not a pounded paillard, but a pounded whole chop. Very well done! Truffle fries were very good (shoestring), but not outstanding -- a bit too greasy. Overall, a delicious meal with minor adj;'s. Will definitely go back.
Only real food fail was the dessert menu. We actually looked for a place on yelp to go for dessert. Nothing was even interesting, and there wasn't a single chocolate dessert.
Lastly, the service. It was pretty awful. Very pleasant, but Inattentive; no one seemed to know anything about the menu; they forgot the two orders of fries!
Lobster pasta special was delicious. Accommodated our guest with gluten free pasta.
Rack of lamb was cooked to proper temperature. As requested, they seated us away from the bar area noise. Service was quite good.
An amazingly low priced and delicious prix fixe lunch. Service could be improved however...the staff is very pleasant and attentive but there were a few missteps. When I ordered a large bottle of sparkling water before my guest had arrived, the server poured two glasses, making the assumption my guest would want it too. (She did not.) They also removed my guest’s appetizer plate before I had finished mine, and compounded that by serving both our entrees while I still had my appetizer in front of me. Small things but it was irritating. Everything else is so good, it wouldn’t take much to improve.
Our party of five people had a wide range of the restaurant's offering and we found each of them very satisfactory. I have gone there before and will do so again. I think the menu is very good and fairly-priced. My only negative is the noise level which, when the restaurant is busy, makes conversation a little difficult for those of us with hearing problem. Overall, I would rate the restaurant as a "Hooray!"
Outstanding because the food is great every, single time.
The appetizers were delicious. Both my husband and I ordered the Brussel Sprouts salad with crispy risotto cake and parmesan truffle fries. However, our main entrees were ok. My husband ordered Vegetable Fusilli and I had Linguine Vongole. The service was excellent though.
We have there tree times in the past six months and the food is always excellent. We enjoy the bar side of the restaurant where is more cozy and intimate. The service is always pleasant and very helpful!
I love this place, great food, casual, easy feel, very good service and is in my regular go to list. Highly recommended
Everything was great except the noise level makes it difficult to have a conversation with dinner partners.
I love a place that underpromises but over delivers. Looks and feels good and then you get great food and wines at realistic prices. It’s a nice little gem tucked in s quiet corner. EXCELLENT service, I always feel like I’m the owners cousin. But I’m not.
Thoroughly competent in almost every aspect, but nothing better than that. Our capellini entrees were good, but the sauce had no discernible flavor. Our wives fish entrees suffered from the same lack of zest.
Service was bare bones, and our server did not check to confirm that everything was satisfactory. Also, we twice asked for butter for our bread, which never arrived. I ordered a beer for dinner, and received a different beer from the one I ordered. Little things, but the restaurant did not quite measure up on many levels.
While people who live nearby may take Bianco Rosso for granted, it really is an excellent restaurant choice. The food and service are top rate. These restaurateurs know what they're doing and they do it with great aplomb.
There's a reason this place is always busy. Really great food, really great wine and a very friendly wait staff. I LOVE this place!
Very attentive wait staff. Food was very good. Great bar staff as well.
Bianco Rosso is always fantastic! It is one of our favorite local go to restaurants! We always enjoy our food there!!
The food and wine were very good and they were kind to let us sit for a long time. It was a Thursday night and quite empty but no staff hovered to make us uncomfortable about staying on after we finished our meal. Since it was a birthday celebration we appreciated that.
I would prefer a better wine selection. Shrimp and cappellini was served in an oval bowl and kept tipping over, not a very good serving vessel. One server came around and took our bread and oil away before we we done. So fast we didn't have a chance to say we were still eating it or wanted more.
We came here on New Year’s Eve. I had high hopes given good reviews on various sites. It was festive with lots of balloons. Very cute. I had the shredded Brussels Sprouts salad as a starter. The risotto cake had no flavor. I thought it was odd...until I tried my pasta, which was clearly lacking salt. My coffee was cold but the Profiteroles were quite tasty. My boyfriend liked his steak but thought the meatballs were only ok. We agreed the gelato was good. Our waiter seemed disinterested at best, like he wanted to be somewhere else. I wouldn’t go back.
Excellent- girlfriend get together for Christmas. Staff made it extra special.
First time here in this Italian bistro-like restaurant. Oddly has high-top tables in the rear but that adds to the uniqueness. Had a great meal and will definitely be coming back.
The overall ambiance of the restaurant was cozy and stylish. The server was attentive, helpful and polite but the pasta was very bland and average so a bit disappointed based on the reviews. Calamari was ok as was the wine. It was busy and vibrant but not enough to bring me back anytime soon.
Our “go to “ restaurant in the area. Always great food and accommodating on menu changes.
Convenient to New Canaan.
The wait staff is not as professional and attentive as other comparitable local restaurants. However, the food was good, so worth a visit.
The menu is a great mix of creative and familiar. Our food was excellently prepared and presented. Just delicious.
Impeccable service. Very accommodating. Excellent food in a lovely venue. A regular favorite.
Had an OK meal. Service was overly attentive, but not helpful. Menu was limited. Pricey for what was served. Not sure I'll be back.
Our second time dining there and we had a very positive experience. The food was outstanding. Two of us had fish dishes and they were perfectly prepared and presented. This is an excellent choice for a nice quiet dinner. Service was very good. Our waiter could have been a little more friendly, more smiles but, he served us perfectly. Bianco Rosso would be a great choice.
Food is good and plentiful but it is way too noisy - even when less than half of the tables are occupied.
Great space with an authentic Italian menu
Service was terrible and there is no management in sight
Had to keep calling the staff from the beginning of the meal to the time we had to request our check
Hope management reads this and shows up to make some changes
