"It is most certainly a gourmet establishment with a menu from top to bottom that is exquisitely creative with tastes and flavors and choices that make selections so joyously difficult--and with a wine list to match food and pocketbook. Consider this the now best Italian restaurant in the state. Three cheers for Biagio the chef."
"Concealed jewel, but easily accessible off the parkway. Esteemed staff that goes about taking care of your every need, especially the maitre d'. Exceptional menu with meals that make you crave for more. The homemade pasta dishes are unequaled to any place in the state. This is an elite restaurant that I will entertain my family and my business clients at. Head chef will go above and beyond his means for satisfaction of customer."
Chef Biaggio out did himself for my wife's 50th birthday. The Mushroom Toast appetizer special and main courses were fantanstic! We thoroughly enjoyed the evening.
The food and service are outstanding. The noise level is crazy. They need drapes or something to absorb the sound. The next to us(tables are close) were so loud, it was hard to carry on a conversation
Staff at this restaurant is very professional and attentive. Our dinner was very enjoyable. We will be back.
Friendly welcome, great food , slightly noisy , reasonably priced real Italian cuisine
Great place! I enjoyed the food and atmosphere. I wish they were able to accommodate my Wife’s request for a shrimp cocktail, but other than that detail, the place was flawless.
Food was so so.Lobster bisque pie was partially cold and the dough was under baked. Sea bass was bland .
It was disappointing. I heard so many good things about this place .
Service was excellent.
Food was great, but the service horrible. The server never came back to see how I was enjoying the meal. Nor did he come to refill the water glass ever. The server was too busy using his personal cell phone in plain sight, or chatting with other staff, standing around near the ordering computer. Another server came by to collect my main meal plates when my initial server was not to be found. Server training was clearly lacking.
I've been to Biagio's several times. This is the worst experience I've had. The server had 2 tables and service was lacking. Several of the orders came out overcooked and we had to reorder. They ran out of their specials. I won't be going back any time soon!
The absolute best Italian in Shelton area. Authentic and always delicious. The veal chop...to die for!!!
Service was great, food , especially the lobster ravioli was outstanding. Have a wonderful experience every time I go there.
Always enjoy our meal at Biagio’s!
Primo always makes us feel at home!
We all loved Biagios. The ossobucco was particularly a big hit everyone raved.
Food was out of this world. Best sauce I had since my grandma.
We had a great lunch. The meatballs were excellent as was the sauce. The calamari was also very good. Loved the fresh bread. Excellent meal!
Second time there, food was fantastic and hard to decide what to order. Everything was delicious!
So disappointed, 4 of us for dinner, waited an hour for food. 2 meals were very good. Veal dishes. Lamb ragu was awful. Meatless, sauce tasted like Campbell's tomato soup. Not at all Bolognese as stated. People around us were angry and complaining to staff who were very nice and polite. Felt bad for them. I'll give them another try at some point. Take that ragu off the menu. $19.
Excellent food and presentation. Amazing flavors and pairings of food groups. Wait staff so courteous and attentive.
Food was good, service was ok, but what I didn’t like or find acceptable was their policy of “rounding up” the bill. My bill came to $.51 and they rounded up to the next dollar!!! Why should the restaurant collect an additional $.49? It’s a restaurant, they have plenty of cash on hand to give me the correct change. I’ve seen this before and am not a fan. Think I’ll start to “round down” and see if they like it!!
Biagio is a wonderful, out of the way Italian restaurant. It was really nice.
The pasta was delicious and Aldente. Chocolate souffle for dessert was to die for.
This place is one of the best Italians in the Tri state. We moved from NY and finally have found Italian like back home. Grazie!
I would have given a higher rating.Food amazing.Waiter very good however upon entering restaurant no one to greet us or at door to walk us to a table.Did not know it was self seating! So surprised for a better restaurant that you would not be greeted or escorted to a table. We had reservations. What if we had wanted or someone else would have wanted a special room?table? Waiter? Not a great way to start out a anniversary dinner!
We were very pleased with everything, and the 3 people we brought there had never been there before. They were VERY pleased. They WILL be back.
The staff was on top of everything and there was NO RUSH!!
Wonderful experience, Feels like your in an old school Manhattan Italian restaurant. Bravo
Best Ossobucco I have ever had. Over saffron risotto it was to die for. Yum to the face!
Tremendous food....We have been coming here for years but this time they blew us away with the table side cooking show!
We love coming here. Biagio and his staff always make us feel like we are home and in Italy.
What’s the point of making a reservation and they stick you in the bar. The said we could wait for a table. I thought I had a reservation for a table!
Another fabulous dining experience at Biagio’s!!
The restaurant was very attentive. The food was exceptional. Looking forward to going once again
Everything was superb! The service and the food and ambience were outstanding. We can not wait to return
We go here often and service this time unfortunately was off. Food is always very good.
Tried Biagio's during Stratford restaurant week & liked it so much we tried it again. Food was tasty, good size portions, prices reasonable, and the service very good. We will be back.
Have been to the restaruant several times. Always great service. Presentation of food special.
I ordered sea bass from the menu, I was informed it was unavaible but I was given the option of either sole or sword fish which I could have prepared the same way. I went with the sole and was not disappointed.
Have reservation for next month for our anniversary already.
Never ever disappointed having dinner at Biagio’s. It is a hidden diamond in Connecticut. Excellent, excellent, excellent!!!!
Very good food for a reasonable price. Service was disjointed when we arrived, however, as the evening progressed, it got decidedly better. Would recommend this restaurant to a friend. Next time, we would like to sit in the terrace room.
Hands down the best dining experience we’ve had in a while. Won’t be venturing into New Haven for Italian now that we’ve found this gem!!
Went for dinner and had a great meal. Had 2 appetizers- buratta with tomato was outstanding. The buratta was probably the best I’ve ever had. Tomatoes could have been better/riper/tastier given that it was tomato season. And also had the broccoli rabe and sausage appetizer- the greens were cooked perfectly ( stems and leaves). Flavor was really good and sausage was good as well. For dinner I had lamb shank with cavatelli which was very good. Only downside for me was the use of rosemary. I know it’s traditional but personally I just don’t like it. My wife had the lobster ravioli. The sauce was a pink sherry cream sauce which was really good. The 5/6 ravioli were large and filling. The filling was all lobster meat. The taste seemed a bit fishy for us but was good. Also had the apple tart dessert which was topped with vanilla gelato and whip cream. Excellent end to the meal!!!
the Restaurant was lovely, broken up into several rooms, but it was quite noisy..
Our waiter was very friendly and competent.
We were a group of 4 and each chose a different dish.
We began the meal with a house wine, which was very nice and a crusty Italian bread.
My friends chose a shrimp dish, which was loaded with shrimp. She thoroughly enjoyed it.
Her husband and mine had Zuppa de pesche which was very tasty.
I had the veal chop, though I had looked forward to having Ossobucco, which they were out of
The chop as very large and delicious
As we were quite full, we declined dessert, but were given a small cookie, complementary.
Food was delcious, served quickly and hot. We had Veal Picatta Biagio and Frutti Du Mare - both excellent! Several servers attended to our every need, efficiently and politely - from keeping water glasses filled, taking wine and dinner order, clearing, etc. Went on a Saturday night but noise level was fine, restaurant was busy but not crowded. Had a very nice evening.
