What a great find!!!!! We found this place via Open Table and it was also recommended to us from our host at the Bed and Breakfast. So glad that we went!!! Our waitress was helpful in determining dishes and the bartenders are amazing.
We started and shared the mushrooms in truffle oil - which were to DIE FOR!
My husband had the special soup which had lobster and shaved sweet potato on top and raved about it.
I had the special foie gras which was cooked perfectly!
For main dishes we had the venison mignon and the duck - again both cooked perfectly and delicious.
We hope that you try this place out. It's such a great spot off the beaten path and well worth the trip

The food was absolutely excellent.
Bia is a rarity in the area: quiet, sophisticated, and with friendly yet polished professional service. Our party of three enjoyed everything we ordered (lamb, duck and a fish special), an excellent wine, and starters of beet salad and the soup of the day. That soup, a lobster and mushroom bisque, may have been the most delicious soup I've ever had, with a touch of heat, a touch of crunch on top, and a generous amount of tender lobster. I enjoyed this restaurant on a previous visit, but I feel like it has really grown into a remarkable experience.
Best service and the most creative menu I’ve seen in years. Our waiter knew everything about every dish and every wine, and the food delivered on his spectacular descriptions. The atmosphere is intimate and enjoyable - great music and ambiance. Can’t wait to go back - I will recommend Bia to everyone.

The food was delicious. We had the trout - crispy skin, moist inside; and a venison mignon with a mincemeat pie - a perfect accompaniment and the venison was tender and juicy. The waiter was excellent and suggested wines to accompany our meals. The ale-based breads and herbed butter served with dinner were hearty, chewy and delicious.

There are not enough vegetarian selections. And they don’t have Makers Mark! Music too loud & poor selections. But we already have recommended it to friends (carry a heavy wallet). !!
The food was absolutely superb, from the Earl grey cured salmon through the entrees, right up to the whiskey sabayon with goat's milk caramel for dessert. Our waiter was friendly and knowledgeable and was even accommodating to our infant daughter. We could not have asked for a better anniversary dinner. Thank you!
Went with family to Bia .. the service was gracious and attentive. Food was excellent.. started with the mushroom and egg yolk appetizer.. would have love it as an entree option ... until.. my duck arrived! What a lovely “take “ on a loved favorite. Duck was juicy without being greasy .. the orange was a lovely “drizzle” of Burt orange without being syrupy .. really refreshing! Served with the lightest mash potatoes. My brother and sister in law had the lamb and arctic char .. which balance being both flavorful yet light. We will be returning ..
We were surprised by the interesting menu. The food was well prepared and good. The waitstaff is quite helpful. And the cocktails are excellent.
It can get noisy. If hearing is a problem, this might not be the place for you during their busy time.
Great inventive food. Salmon starter was light and fun, pheasant special and vegetable ragout were soul satisfying. We talked to the couple next to us who had the lamb and the pork belly/lobster entrees and they were equally impressed. This is a great addition to the list of excellent Rhinebeck restaurants.
Food was absolutely delicious, nice and cozy atmosphere and great service. The pricing was a bit high for the portion sizes, but overall great.
My experience at Bia was amazing. The service was great. We were helped by several different staff members and they were all extremely friendly, polite and helpful. The food was delicious...Every dish we ordered was executed to perfection. The flavor combinations were creative and worked very well together. I love that they offered a separate vegetarian menu with more amazing dishes. I wanted to try everything! We will definitely go back for more!
Food in the Valley is on the up-tick ... and Rhinebeck enjoys a comfortable spot in that trend. That said, Bia was a joy and a delight randomly discovered with an OpenTable search. Took a chance ... and scored! Incredible food, impeccable service and an environment where you can actually enjoy a conversation without EVER having to shout, Try it ... you will NOT be disappointed.
Amazing ambiance, amazing service and most importantly amazing food! Restaurant is slightly off the path from the main strip of restaurants and should not be missed!!! My husband and I have eaten at most of the restaurants in Rhinebeck and have to say this was the best! Our server was amazing and knowledgeable and the food was fresh, seasonal and inventive. We were even offered a chance to pull a garnish from the little herb garden right on the patio. Will definitely be back!
Loved the experience and food. Every part of the meal (apps, entrée and dessert) was delicious. Staff was friendly and courteous, outside seating was a plus - will definitely go back.
I have been twice - excellent both times. The food is the main event; drinks (bar and wine list) close second. Slightly off beaten path in Rhinebeck so not a mob scene (yet). Chef was excellent with both meat and fish (try the cod if they have it). People smirk when I say "high-end Irish" - so maybe just "high end" with Irish influences. Either way, worth the trip.

Excellent service and meal!
We are always looking for a new and amazing restaurant to eat at. Bia fit all our needs and we are so happy we tried it. Everything was amazing, the service was impeccable and our food was delightful,as well as, presented in an unique way. To start off our dinner, we received a basket of warm Irish breads. The bread seemed like the traditional and amazing bread we had had in Dublin. Next our appetizers were the Waldorf Salads which were perfect in size and taste. I had the kale and beet risotto, not something I typically would get but was wanting to go out of my comfort zone. It was amazing and my husband had the filet. The desserts were perfect!!! Husband drank the Americano coffee and I had my favorite, Barry's Irish Breakfast tea. THEN!!! They gave us salted caramel with our check. I haven't stopped thinking about Bia, we will definitely go back!!!
This was our 2nd time here. It is now one of our favorites. My husband is a foodie, I am less daring but I am a snob when it comes to good service. Both times we were blown away. My husband repeatedly said how amazing his dish was (happened to be a special). I love being treated special when out to eat (why bother otherwise) and the staff goes out of their way to do that. They are knowledgeable about the food, drinks, etc. and take great pride in it. I hope it all stays this way and the restaurant is a long time staple in Rhinebeck.
I was super excited to try Bia, my husband is from Ireland and we were celebrating our 16th wedding Anniversary. I was a little disappointed the filet I ordered was under seasoned and the Yorkshire pudding was over cooked. Having lived in West Yorkshire England, I know how Yorkshire puddings should taste, these were extremely dry and over baked. Also the bread in the bread basket was raw in the middle. I am willing to go back to try other dishes, in hopes it was an off night.
This was our second meal at Bia and it was excellent. We were four people and everyone enjoyed their meal. Love the fact that they have a vegetarian menu. Service was good. Definitely a great option for dining in Rhinebeck.
Everything was as delicious as it could be. The food was extremely well prepared and high end; as good as any fine dining establishment in the city. The owner was present ensuring that the patrons felt cared for.
the servers were attentive without being overbearing. I definitely would return to try more dishes. The salmon appetizer was amazing as was the mushroom dish. The steaks were perfectly cooked, and that's a feat given one was ordered medium rare and one well done. The wine list was eclectic and had something for every palate.
Lovely artistic setting for fine ingredients prepared with love and precision. Friendly, knowledgeable wait staff is attentive without being pasty. Loved the crab custard appetizer- very unique and tasty assemblage.

My husband and I made a reservation for Sunday dinner. We were greeted warmly by the hostess and the staff. We had a pleasant experience with all servers, who were attentive and engaging without being obtrusive. Really, just right. The food was delicious; scallops arrived perfectly grilled and hot. Tomato ricotta salad was pretty and delicious. The presentation was lovely for all the meals we could see. The ambience was perfect--lighting is everything and it was so well done. The wall murals were really beautiful, but they still allowed the food and people to take front stage. Will we go back? A definitive yes.
Bia (Gaelic for food) is a culinary gem, taking full advantage of the wealth of superb local Hudson Valley produce, meat and seafood. Chef Rich Reeve has brought his passion for cooking to every restaurant he has graced but Bia is his highlight— he makes everything on the menu from bread, to pate, superb sauces and decadent desserts. The setting is beautiful and quiet, steps from the Beekman Arms but spared the nerve-rattling traffic noise of Rhinebeck’s Main Street (Rt 9).
Extraordinary. Exquisite attention is paid to every component on the plate and flavor is always the focus. So far this year, we've eaten at restaurants across the country with a combined 10 Michelin stars. The food at Bia was equal to any of them.

Bia is the best restaurant in Rhinebeck. I took my friends out to thank them for their hospitality, and we were amazed by the quality and caliber of the food that was prepared for us. We agreed to meet at Bia every week for a get together.
Tucked away and 100% worth it! Everything about Bia was amazing! The menu was unique and delicious. Drinks were awesome too. Overall - amazing experience. 10/10 recommend.

Had the price fixe...........the salad was tiny, seemed like a 1/4 or 1/2 salad. No excuse for being stingy with the salad
