Bhang has an ample selection of vegan and gluten free items that compete equally in flavour and popularity with out charcoal meats and tandoor dishes. Bhang's wine and craft beer list from local producers focus on drinkability and 'Bhang for your buck', while our Indian inspired cocktails are a must try, especially during happy hour (5-7pm Tues-Sun).
Poor service. Food okay. Expensive for what you get.
Excellent interpretation of Indian food and well priced. Service was pretty good. Let down would be the restaurant comfort.. the heating system was average, and despite the heat & warmth of the spicy food served I felt pretty chilly on a cold melb winter
Loved everything about this place, food was amazing!! Staff friendly and it was fast! Love love love. Definitely going again!
Some of the best Indian food I've had in ages, and the staff were really attentive and nice. Will definitely be back!
Had an outstanding meal. Service and vibe in the room was excellent. Unfortunately it is quite a loud room making conversation awkward. But the food definitely makes up for it!
Amazing!! Food was delicious. Staff were great - highly recommend
Friendly staff looked after us. Great food and atmosphere
The food was great and the person who served us was amazing! He was knowledgable and courteous. The food was great!
I came here with 2 friends (total: 3) and we had a good meal. For the feed me menu, we thought the food was delicious and was delivered efficiently. The only negative was the table seating downstairs was fairly crowded.
Bhang will go down as my favourite Indian restaurant. A great experience from the warm greeting, to the awesome decor, food and drink selection. Loved it. Highly recommend Bhang.
Although what we ate was great, it was way too much and the waiter should have known that. He also suggested we order naan bread which would have been far too excessive, and we are not small eaters by far.
Also, we were put into a tiny table that could barely accommodate our plates and food, and was wedged very close to the table next to us. Not ideal for a relaxing or intimate evening.
We loved our evening at Bhang and felt welcome as soon as we walked through the door. The decor was funky and tastefully done. The giant table was the perfect place to have a pre dinner cocktail from the bar.
The staff were helpful and friendly and the food was delicious. We’d certainly eat there again.
Disappointed that even after requesting in booking comments to be contacted to reschedule if we could not be seated in the dinning area, and booking more than a week in advance, we were still confirmed and seated to dine in the bar with no acknowledgement of our request. Lighting and noise level in bar, even on quiet night, made this very difficult to read menu or hear each other. No serving utensils and no knives provided with large meat dishes and curries made it difficult to share food. Service staff nice but no knowledge of or pride taken in the product. Rarely knew answer to questions and much prompting needed for assistance. Served a replacement drink without asking us first if we were ok with the replacement. Order taken or communicated incorrectly as well as all dishes being brought at once. Shame, as the chef had clearly taken a lot of care with the food. Overall very disappointing as was looking forward to it.
The place and food were amazing. Service was slow, but the staff very polite when available. Maybe they were understaffed. Would go again for a second try.
Seriously some of the BEST Indian food I've had in a while! The service was so friendly and the atmosphere was absolutely perfect! Would recommend to anyone wanting a modern take on traditional Indian cuisine and will be back very soon!
Fantastic in every way. Delicious food, delicious cocktails, fabulous service. Thank you very much for a wonderful evening
Food was amazing , flavours were delicious and sizing was great
Cocktails very moorish
It was a gem of a place and will defiantly be back
Thanks for a wonderful evening
Great Indian food, lots of unique flavours so each dish was exciting - great recommendation on starter - spinach chaat was tangy & morish! Ate it all up - rare with Indian as it can be too rich!
Awesome space, bit dark for a group with visual challenges but got used to it - can’t wait to try out thali night, already recommended it to friends!
All the dishes were enjoyable except the prawn dish. The prawns were over cooked and were a bit dry.
Great restaurant! Would be very happy to come back at some stage!
Terrific place, cool and casual. Great bar downstairs, quality dining upstairs, but not pretentious. The best Negroni (they call it something different) I've ever had. Great creative Indian food.
Fish was either frozen or overcooked...it was tough. Pork curry had too much star anise/cloves which made the balance not right. Samosas and the potato cutlet starter were fine. Beware of parking at the front.30 minute car parks. A friend got a fine
Went for the Thali night and it was fantastic. Amazing curries, unlimited poppadoms, delicious desserts and incredible cocktails. Staff all super friendly too. Will be back ASAP
Friendly, inclusive environment, great, welcoming & accommodating service.
Food was excellent. We did the Thali Nights dinner, which is a great way to sample a broad cross-section of Bhang's menu without necessarily relying on being with a big group for a banquet. It's also fantastic value and enough for the most hearty appetite! My partner and I wobbled out and somehow managed to reach our car.
We (I should say 'I') found the noise level upstairs a little harsh when we arrived (9pm, late sitting), but it abated somewhat as the crowd thinned, and to be fair, my ears are old and battered by decades of loud music. And if *that's* the only criticism I have, I'm having to dig deep for faults, right? DO NOT let that put you off. Everything else about this joint is top-notch, including the simple, minimal and cozy setting.
How did I not know about this place before? And to think we once lived around the corner, lol.
We'll be back one one of their regular nights, but *particularly* if they do more Thali nights (or similar).
Food was cold! Great ambience though but the thali nights are a bit overrated.
We randomly chose Bhang and let me tell you ....we loved it! Loved the food, the atmosphere although a little noisy was vibrant and welcoming as were all the staff from arriving. I have already suggested to a number of friends that we should go there as we loved the food. I think perhaps my only concern for a group dinner that the music not be as loud as it was hard to hear one another and we were only a group of 4.
The food was exceptional. Loved it.
Definitely go again and again.
Everything was great except the acoustics made it a bit hard to hear. We were also sitting under the heater so when it was on we were too warm but when it was off the room got cold quickly. But service, food and the cocktails were 10/10
great and modern interpretation of Indian cuisine
Perfect as I am beginning to expect for Bhang, this was my 4th dinning experience and they got it spot on!! The food was a delicious variety of meats and vegetarian dishes, the Cocktail options are plentiful and refined. The staff are a host of knowledge, always eager to help. The bearded waiters a bit cute too. Actively do recommend to friends!
Service was passable, but not outstanding. Room was very loud. Could use some sound deadening. For the $50 feed me, the value was okay.
Food is great. There is great traditional Indian and fusion Indian food here. Thanks
Great food, good ambience, wonderful service along with nice decor and atmosphere. Total value for money
Excellent range of dishes, beautifully spiced. Attentive and friendly service. Music intruded on conversation but maybe an attraction for younger customers!
Our table of 4 totally enjoyed our evening meal at Bhang
The ambiance is just right & refreshingly different to most other restaurants & bars that we have experienced. The food & choices excellent.
The food and atmosphere was excellent, but I felt sorry for the staff, they were clearly understaffed for a Saturday night, when they were able to serve us they were lovely.
We were seated at a table without enough chairs for our reservation and it was more than 20 minutes after we arrived that we were asked if we wanted to order drinks after we had asked a couple of times.
I'd definately recommend Bhang, we've been a few times, I just hope they can get more staff for those peak periods, maybe someone had dropped out sick or something.
The food was very good and our table staff were lovely, with a good balance of friendly and efficient. The only flaw was that the noise level was very high, and the music so loud we had to shout across our small table to hear each other. Two requests to turn it down a little made no discernible difference. However, it was Saturday night, probably the busiest and noisiest time of all - I'd go back but at a quieter time since I don't like having to yell at my friends.
We had a lovely night out at Bhang. A warm and welcoming space with delicious food and prompt and friendly service. My husband and I would not hesitate to return or to highly recommend it to friends.
Awesome food, cocktails and staff. Love this restaurant.
We order one dish that was impossible to eat because it was pure peper.
