What Insiders Are Saying
For Italian in Los Angeles, it doesn't get any better than the Arts District's Bestia, This isn't dinner, it's an experience.
Each tapas we ordered was fantastic. Special Cocktail offerings were a bit tequila/mezcal heavy but nonetheless excellent.
Poor service, too many people coming and going
terrible coursing of the food.
Food was alright. The best thing was probably the bone marrow. The pizza was really nothing special. And the pasta was good, but not exceptional. Service was great.
We had been waiting and were so excited to try Bestia as we had heard so many wonderful things and read reviews about how exceptional it is. I really wanted to like Bestia but unfortunately we were very underwhelmed and disappointed. Firstly we were seated at the worst table, no exaggeration. The servers had all their silverware and waters stacked right behind us and kept reaching over us to get access to it, which was very disturbing to us. Secondly their vegetarian options were so limited and they refused to make any modifications. The only appetizer I was able to order was one salad. Nothing else was vegetarian. I had 2 options for an entree, which was the gnocchi or pizza. I ordered gnocchi, which was good but not great and was a very small portion. The cocktails were also just ok. We were supposed to go back with another couple but have decided to go somewhere else.
Food was amazing! If I were rating the restaurant solely only on food, it would get 5 glowing stars! Ambience, however, was not what I expected for a restaurant of this caliber. There was a table next to us with a very loud, obnoxious group of people who clearly have had a lot to drink. To add to that, our waiter was a cold fish. Sure, he smiled and walked us through the menu but I expected someone who was warmer to guests and made diners feel welcome. Our cold fish did not. So, would I come back? Maybe not. Fortunately, the dining scene in LA is healthy. Lots of other fish in this sea.
I would not go here on a Friday/Saturday night. Food was overcooked or too salty. It tasted like it had been reheated... My bf woke up with an upset stomach.
Always a wonderful dining experience, food is consistently amongst the top in LA
Food never disappoints!
The food is always delicious. Never regret eating the food
Place is a little loud, and they were definitely busy, but the food and service were beyond fantastic! An experience well worth the price.
The food was amazing g and well worth the wait!
We had a great experience. The food was exceptional! From start to finish! A great dinner experience with the girls for my birthday!
Every mouthful was completely delicious. Staff were friendly and informative. Hands down best meal I’ve had in LA. The broccoli with tuna sauce was epic - and the n’duja pizza!!! Wow!
The place was surprisingly nice , considering its close proximity to LA’s skid row. Food was ok. Parking charged $9.00 ( valet ) . Our server was ok. Our order came a little late. Although, the place wasn’t bad , I probably wouldn’t come back there.
Close to perfection, as usual
Father’s Day dinner, great food and drinks
This place never fails to amaze you with their food, service, and ambiance. Each dish is consistent and made with fresh quality ingredients that you can taste in every bite. The space offers a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere that caters to all types of crowd and sets the mood for quite the dining experience. It doesn’t matter what occasion you choose to go here for, it will always be fit!
Hands down my favorite restaurant ever. Every dish you order will wow your taste buds. Personally my two favorite dishes that I cannot live without is the Cavatelli & the Bone Marrow. Those two are life changing dishes! I was a bit sad to see they no longer have the veal tartar crostini but it will always remain my favorite dining experience in LA.
Not a place to go if you have any food allergies and need modifications or substitutions. The kitchen will not omit ingredients and there is also no modifications or options for gluten free pasta/pizza. The food is very quick to come out so if you are in a rush it's great, not so great if you want to enjoy a cocktail and have a relaxed coursed out meal.
Everything was great , only thing it’s very warm in there . They need AC more cooler
Cocktail was great. Food was decent. Unavailable was goose neck and pork chop.
Food was excellent for the most part - lobster crostino, cherries and tomatoes, the double tomahawk pork chop was incredible! We’re still talking about it. We had two desserts - the apricot and frangipane crostata was fantastic. The maple ricotta fritters were a let down. Soggy and doughy and I wasn’t a fan of the maple ganache - too fatty. But the huckle berry jam ice cream that comes with it was amazing.
The music was a little loud and the bass was distorting. The chairs look great but hard as hell. But we’d come back for the food and the service! :)
The date with my fiancée was great. It was our second time there and just as the first time the service was on point. The food was delicious as expected. We will be returning soon!
We enjoyed a great family night out. All dishes were beautiful and tasty. The Maple Ricotta Fritters was a fabulous choice of dessert. We had reservations, and we were seated immediately. Our server (and all other staff just passing by) was on point the entire time. Next time, we will request a seat at the chef's table. Counter-style seating with a front row view of the kitchen.
Amazing place! Super staff!
The quality of the food has drastically declined.
The food and service were AMAZING. Loved the vibe and atmosphere—a little loud but that’s seemingly on purpose, doesn’t necessarily detract just part of the experience. The staff are very professional yet put you completely at ease to enjoy your experience—not stuffy. The Into The Mist cocktail was delightfully refreshing and pretty to look at, the pork belly with strawberries was amaze, and the bone marrow spinach pasta was different and delicious. Great for a date or a group of friends.
The best dishes of the night was the roasted brocolli and the apricot mango dessert.
The pizza was excellent - lightly charred, floppy and chewy. Great almost sourdough flavor.
The pasta dish with the sausage and truffles had great truffle flavor!
Everything was AMAZING
Loved Bestia, food, service, atmosphere...however, its WAY too noisy. Need to learn
American sign language...
It was extremely expensive! Not worth the cost. Food average. Lityle choice for vegetarians. In a nutshell: never again!
Amazing. It was my 5th time.
We’ve been regulars here for years now, this was the place my fiancé brought us on our first date and we got engaged at Bestia. We always come back for the food and atmosphere but after a drastic change in management, the quality of service has unfortunately declined. We come from OC to eat here late at night and always have reservations. We waited over 30 minutes after our reservation time and a girl who seemed like she was in charge, had a very condescending attitude. Service from there got better, I’m glad the bus boys stayed. A lot of new faces, management changes, and it was clear there was a serious fall out from employees for whatever reason.
Incredible service and incredible food. It's hard to get a reservation but it is worth the wait!
the food was outstanding but the level of pretension by our waiter heavily outweighed the food
Superb food, great staff very enjoyable look forward to my next visit!
One of the best around overall. All dishes we had were well thought off and put together. Service was great and efficient.
It was loud but expected
Food was ok this time around. Been there when the food was much better. Service, as always, was top notch.
Everything about this place was great!!!
