Very less choices for food .i didn’t enjoy fried chicken at all.
Very good food in a cosy ambiance. Perfect for sitting together with friends and having a nice dinner.
Everything was good except for the member of staff assigned to our table, who took passive-aggressively ignoring us to new heights, and was brusque and uncommunicative when forced to interact with us, eg when delivering food to the table. We tried multiple times to get her attention when she was laying out cutlery on a table about ten feet away, but she concentrated even harder on this task and then walked back to the bar. Her colleague ended up doing half of her job, and he was lovely, including making up a fantastic mocktail for me. The place was not very busy, so we just assumed that our service person just hated her job. A pity, because it took the shine off an otherwise delightful evening.
Great food and wonderful service! Great for business lunches or a casual Friday night sesh.
Had a great evening at the Belleville with some colleagues from work! The Feasting menu was amazing (not often you hear people raving about the salad). Great service and vibrant atmosphere (without being overly noisy or crowded). Highly recommend.
it was really nice service and caring from staff!
was great enough to feel happpy bday. thank you !
Belleville is a vibrant place, good for sharing plates, and easy going continuous ordering as you go. It's probably not so great for the intimate romantic meal as the room is big and noisy but it's great for groups and flexible dining. Our table grew as the night went on, we started with 6 people and grew to 10 over a couple of hours - the Belleville staff had no problem accomodating for this. The philly cheese steaks spring rolls are a definite essential to try - the slice of steak inside is top-notch! Their standard rotisserie chicken is great. Their vegan chicken is also tasty for those non-meat eaters.
The cocktail bar at the back is actually my favourite spot, and where I usually go - it's more intimate quirky vibe with the circular bar.
Staff were not very attentive. One of the bar staff seemed to completely ignore us altogether and served 3 people before us. We had a table reserved for dinner but no one came to take our order for drinks until the whole table had arrived, so we had to keep getting up and going to the bar. When the music started I couldn't hear the conversation on our table. Once we started ordering food the service improved. Food was ok, nothing to rave about.
The best French fries & rotisserie chicken in Melbourne. Yummo.
This is for young hip people-it’s a lively spot with cheap fast arriving roast chicken dishes. Very loud on a Friday night as it doubles as a bar and comedy venue. Food was good but unspectacular and came out quickly via very friendly waitresses. Uncomplicated dining in Chinatown
This was my last dinner with my friends before I left to go overseas for the next few years. It was too loud and we couldn't hear each other, I could only hear the person next to me and there were only 5 of us. The food was quite good, but I would have preferred somewhere else where we could hear each other.
Rotisserie Chicken (the specialty) burnt over salty and dry .
I think food is an after thought for this venue
Awesome little venue that you can easily miss if you aren't looking for it. Upstairs overlooking the corner of Swanston and Little Bourke St, this place has excellent food and drinks at excellent prices. A "Feed Me" option for $39 pp ? Definite winner.
Absolutely loved it!
The music was deafening and for a dinner setting at 7:00PM it was absurdly loud. I left with my ears ringing and sadly wasn't able to enjoy the conversation of my table due to the music, which actually got louder and louder and louder as we were sitting there. I probably won't suggest catching up with friends there again, simply because I can't hear them and don't want to spend the whole time shouting and saying 'what'. The food is good and generous and the wait staff are pleasant.
Great service and ambience, with an in-house DJ and views down into Chinatown for window-side tables. Food was good: very rich, with small serving sizes. Don't go here for cheap, generous servings; however, if you're looking for a stylish date night venue, it doesn't break the bank.
Food was so very tasty but wish the service could have be on par. The waiter wasn’t approachable at all and didn’t know details on the meals coming out. She was so unnatentive that we had to get up and go and ask for a drink. The tiny round table situation joined together is not practical for big groups, nor are the seats at all comfortable. Overall food was brill.. service lacking
We'd been here on our last visit to Melbourne a couple of years ago and were pleased to be back. It was rather quiet, mid-afternoon on a public holiday, but it's a lovely room with a very Melbourne patina and the food was good. We'll be back.
Came hear as the last time we came was fantastic .... this time was not as a great an experience. Sat down to peruse their menu and we know their rotisserie chicken is super tasty but we also had according to the Sunday specials an option of southern fried chicken which we all ordered plus sides. The waitress came back to tell us that the Sunday special finished at 5pm and they had also sold out of waffles. It was 5.10. The question was why were the menus for the Sunday special still on our table if it had finished?? Bloody annoying. So we reconsider everything including going somwhere else however we chose the rotisserie chicken plus extra sides. It took the waitress 15 minutes to come back to take our order which is way too long considering the menu is quite small. But yummy food nevertheless. The chicken and poutine is sensational and we will be back I’m sure.
Great food, great vibe and delicious food. Nice to be able to book somewhere for dinner.
