   I have had great times previously at Belle Époque but this time was so disappointing. I made a reservation but they did not acknowledge this. The table went set and I felt rushed and all the staff wanted was to close and get everyone to leave. Very disappointing

   4 of us had Petit Dejeuner au Champagne & it was enjoyable. But…I do have some suggestions for improving this experience - firstly, the glass of champagne & the glass of orange juice should be served first; and then the croissant with butter & jam; then the main dish and then coffee/tea (or start with coffee/tea also). The main dish was served immediately after the croissant plate was placed on the table and we had to ask them to take the main dish away & wait till we had finished the croissant. Then, when it was served, the eggs were cold - they obviously were not kept warm? Also, the orange juice was described as ‘freshly squeezed’ when it wasn’t; it came out of a bottle. There’s room for improvement here. This b’fast offering is great - but could be so much better if these suggestions are followed. I spoke to the Mgr on Duty about the main dish being served too quickly & he did give me a $9 discount. Thank you, Trish

   Overall we had a very pleasant experience for our high tea. Food was great and more than we could finish so left with three take home boxes.

   4 of us booked for high team. The team kept getting the combination wrong. Took 49 minutes before we had what we had ordered. All came out at once.... Too much at one time. Cold treats in ice had melted by the time we were able to eat. We were there for 2.5 hours. I feel the muck up at the beginning and the "dump the food and run" spoilt our high tea. Food good but needs to be delivered in batches if B E is going to include treats that need to be kept cold. We got the impression that the staff wanted us to hurry up. We spent $360 on lovely food but the first 40 minutes felt like we were in a "Fawlty Towers" episode. Waitress and/or kitchen staff need training.

   Poor high tea experience. Surrounded by little bugs flying around our faces and into the food the whole time despite being inside. Mentioned to staff and were told the bugs always appear when high teas are served, ‘must be all the sweet stuff haha’. Casual and inattentive service, asked for a new cup as one wasn’t brought out with the teapot, waited 15 minutes and ended up going to the counter to get it. Wasn’t given any description of the food when it was served (there was a menu but usually at high tea they point out which sweets are which), jam, cream and curd were served without spoons. The tea list was limited then they were out of the first two I chose. The food itself was decent and scones delicious so well done to whoever is in the kitchen. Not a memorable or special experience at all though, and way overpriced for a basic cafe relying on its ‘trendy’ decor. We went to the rooftop afterwards where the staff were lovely, room amazing with beautiful views. Such a shame they don’t do afternoon tea up there. We’ll go back to Bacchus or Customs House for a good high tea next time.

   As a visitor to Australia, I think the afternoon tea should be offered upstairs with a beautiful view of the city.

    The food was outstanding. Amazing quality and quantity . The staff were very friendly but sadly their service was very short a 5 star. We were seated at our table and it took 30 min before someone came and served us. They were so informative about the menu and very friendly but our drinks and food then took another 30 min to arrive. they had misplaced the order. I ordered another coffee which after waiting for 20min I had to go to the counter and request it again. They informed me once more they had forgotten my order and would make it straight away. It was very frustrating but the food was amazing .

    Lovely venue, lovely staff, lovely food. I had a really good experience here with my little daughter and my mum. Definitely recommend. Staff are pleasant, helpful and professional. Good coffee too. A+

    Food was absolutely incredible - beautifully presented and tasty! Had to ask waitress for tea and coffee after around an hour and a half into our booking which was disappointing. One of our guests has a seafood allergy but the smoked salmon was still served and touching other items on the plate. Noise level was quite loud. I had a party of six and could only hear the two people either side of me. Couldn’t be easily involved in all the conversations.

    My husband & I were a bit disappointed, weren’t greeted as we expected, had to enter through the shop area & stand waiting to be acknowledged. The two wait staff were very friendly & helpful when we were finally noticed though. It was very noisy as there was a large party in the middle of the room which affected the ambience. My husband really enjoys a high tea, we have been to many in various venues world wide, & as it was his birthday (& we’re not travelling much at present) I thought Belle Époque would be a pleasant experience. It wasn’t unpleasant, but I don’t think we’ll be going there again.

    The selection of food for the High Tea was extremely good, something of every type, sweet & savoury and a large amount. The Hotel itself is beautiful and the Belle Epoque is the same, the outside tables look very cosy for smaller meals and very french cafe in style. We couldn't pick our favourites as they were all very good. We took home some we could not manage to eat. We were warned by the staff it would happen and she was right! Lovely friendly staff, never had to wait or ask for anything.

    Lovely experience. Great service. Attractive and comfortable surroundings. Service was both efficient and warm. The food was well prepared and beautifully presented and champagne was an excellent addition. Happy to repeat the high tea experience again.

    Presentation and ambience was great. Was a bit disappointed w the service. Ordered tea but staff had forgotten to serve it. Asked what the champagne senna tea taste like and was only told it taste “like champagne(?)”.

    Waitress incredibly rude after asking me the same question multiple times then asked if I had a problem? Shame as would have been a nice day with my daughters for the school holidays if not for the extremely bad service and rude waitress

    We booked the High Tea for my daughters birthday. The food was delicious and much better quality than I have had anywhere else and there was plenty of it to enjoy. The staff were friendly and provided good service without being intrusive. It was a thoroughly enjoyable 2 hours.

    Poor lobster bisque - no lobster, it was prawns in what tasted like an average gravy. Waiting staff initially attentive however when main arrived water wasn’t topped up for remainder of time and our finished main dishes were left on table for 40 mins before someone took them away. If it’s going to be table service initially I think a nice touch would be being able to order your dessert and pay at your table. This was a birthday lunch and was disappointing. I was looking forward to it as I’d had such a great experience last year at the high tea.

    Bought the High Tea Experience at Belle Epoque for my mum's birthday. She went with her sister and had an amazing time. She said it was better than the High Tea at The Samford Plaza! I'm totally jealous I didn't go as well. They both raved about the quality of the food and the manner of the 2 staff members that served them on the day. The scones and savouries were a particular favourite of my aunt. Whilst my mum adored the scones and petit fours.

    Despite a nearly empty restaurants, our order was misplaced and after waiting for 45 mins they realised and put the order in. When the food arrived it was underwhelming - the lobster bisque was watery & tasteless - ditto with the onion soup (which had the cheese covered bread on the side - not in the soup as is traditional). The lime tart didn’t taste of citrus at all and a few of the macarons we ordered were stale. Won’t be going back!

    Service was fantastic and always a great visit. Chairs could use a cushion or changing chairs after 30-60 mins can be a bit uncomfortable if you don’t get a bench seat and could add to the allure. However won’t detract us from coming again and again! One of the best I’ve ever had!

    We were put outside in the sun at first, then that disappeared and there was a very cold wind coming down the street, quite unpleasant. Also the Rum Baba glass had a chip off inside the glass, had to get a replacement. Food quite good but being outside in cold wind was definitely a downer.

    The setting was lovely and private, comforable and yet open to watch the busy street outside. The food was very innovative and fresh. Ambience was European, added to the variety of food given as High Tea, would return, we enjoyed it.
