Lovely place with delicious pizza.
No wonder this place has made the best new openings list everywhere. Delicious food and drinks plus great service. Make sure you check out the specials!
A weekly menu based on produce available means I will definitely be back!
Great place... loved everything about it!
The food, the ambiance, the service was a 10 out of 10!
Bella Brutta is the best wood fired pizza in the inner west by far. The Mortadella Pizza changes lives on the regular. :) Thank you.
My search for the best pizza in Sydney may be over. This was spectacular. For those people who complain its burnt go to dominoes as this pizza had the best Char on it I have ever had.
Excellent service and staff. Very good pizza, great vibe, sure to be a hit.
Delicious pizza!, easy electronic booking process & attentive service
The waitress explained to us that the menu was designed to share. After we decided not ordering the small plates, only the pizzas her mood totally changed. She was impatient and rude, even though we were extremely polite with her. We ordered 5 pizzas for 6 people and 1 entree (plenty of food), but she insisted it was not enough food (???). Then our pizzas took 50minutes to 1 hour to arrive and when they did, she told us they were too many and they wouldn’t fit on the table so I should hurry up since my pizza was the first one to arrive. It was the second time my husband and I were visiting the place and our first experience was nothing like this one, the service was amazing. But this time that we decided to take our friends there and celebrate a birthday it was simply horrible. Everyone was frustrated, hungry and feeling quite angry at the service.
Great food - but they should make the margherita special permanent! Not many vegetarian options but everything else is great.
Excellent service and the pizzas were sensational!!
Quick service. Friendly staff and one of the best pizza in town. Desserts delicious too.
Great pizza bar but also great starters. The eggplant with a lemon-dill vinaigrette was superb. The clam pizza is my favourite. I wish they would serve alcohol free beer.
Literally Bella Brutta !!!
Ugly Delicious they say
but with beautiful and professional hospitality staffs
For me, Orange wine, selections of beer
And prosecco are perfect for my pizza choices.
Gotta try their quality meats on the Pizza
Nice open layout, interiors and ambience. Good indoor summer place. There is a good wine selection. Only really pizza as a main but ours at least was really delicious.
Really sad that this was such a poor experience as a supplier for the restaurant had recommended we go. Really poor service for such an expensive meal. And even if you book in advance - if you are dining as a pair you'll be shoved to bar seating (where you will get constantly bumped by passing staff and customers).
If you order the artichoke make sure they explain the way to enjoy it - it isn't the traditional lovely yummy artichoke you'll find in Italy, rather an endomeme style experience where you stripe the crispy leaves with your teeth rather than chewing!
The Flounder was delicious and the apple cucumber salad was fresh and yummy but the simplicity of the meal and the poor service had us regretting our investment of over $80/person! Such a shame because really great Italian food would be such a treat in Newtown... But sadly I have to say you're better to save your pennies!
Nice fit out friendly staff. Food lacked flavor and pizza was over cooked.
We had an early sitting at 6pm and by 6:05 the place was packed so we knew that was a good sign. We ordered 2 pizzas, a bottle of red and some cannolis and cannot complain. The pizzas were cooked to perfection, service was great. If your expecting to walk in off the street maybe don’t because you might be disappointed in not getting a table but book a few days in advance and you should be fine.
The pizzas at the nearby RocketBoy are better on a price and quality basis. My son, a pizza afficionado, certainly also thinks so. The vegetables were overcooked a little. The wine is way too expensive for the quality. I think the proprietors would have been better at sticking to their main game at Porteno and LP Quality Meats. The music, combined with the echo from the hard services, meant the noise level was too high.
All other pizzas can get f*cked. My partner and I have been on two ocassions and eaten our way through their pizza menu (the antipasti and starters seem to change frequently). Now all other pizzas are dead to us.
The clam and pepperoni pizzas are a must-try. The clam is creamy yet zingy with a good chili hit, and the pepperoni soulful and meaty, topped with fennel seeds - the freshness from them lending depth and relief. The mortadella is a lighter deli meat option, but doesnt stand up to the others. The ortiz anchovies on the marinara pizza are a hit, especially dipping the leftover crusts into the high quality, almost floral olive oil the fillets sit in. They do come on the side so you must dress your own pizza.
From the starters, we've tried a zucchini, lemon and pistachio dish. The lemon curd sauce had a lovely texture but the preserved lemon flavour reminded us of cleaning product - to each their own! The artichokes are a pleasure to eat, albiet simply done in the woodfire oven, but paired with possibly the best aoili I've ever had. The melon and ricotta salad is a lovely light side dish dressed with honey. Its incredibly refreshing although a little too sweet for me and I feel it wanted more salt. A red herring dish lightly dressed was too delicate and light to stand up to everything else on the table.
The wine list is full of great options. I believe even the cheapest wine at a restaurant worth its salt should still be great, and their list has a good selection of moderately priced ones. There is a Margaret River Russi that comes either room temp or chilled. If it's a balmy summer night, try it chilled and you won’t regret it. Almost too drinkable.
While we liked all the menu has to offer, both times we left wishing we just had another pizza between us instead of starters and antipasti. A good drop and a pizza (or four) is all you need here. There is no other pizza but Bella Brutta.
Very special pizza. Great drinks list including good wines by the glass (rare!) Extremely friendly staff. Excellent interiors and for that matter, nice exterior. Great crowd and vibe. There was a bit of a wait for pizza (quite busy) but it was well worth it. Outstanding.
Outstanding. Tania’s and Luke’s hospitality is second to none.
a Mix between a neapolitan and roman pizza base. light and chewy crust with a thin slightly crisp base. the perfect pizza!
Had a catch up with a friend on a Saturday night. We sat at the bar and got to watch all the hard work they put in, plus the owner making the pizzas. We asked for recommendations on the amount of food and what wine would suit and both recommendations were spot on. All the food was wonderful and not overpriced at all. The salumi we had was a salami that melted in your mouth but had a rind that tasted like a soft, white cheese. Best of both worlds in one mouthful! Also make sure you try the housemade limoncello!
Excellent service and recommendation on a wine that exceeded our expectations !
The whole experience was memorable and will definitely return and recommend to others !!
Wonderful place to dine.
Clam pizza was great, but the pepperoni pizza was just ok. Venue has a great vibe although I think it is overpriced and overhyped for what it is. Would go back for the clam pizza.
Incredible experience! From the food, to the drinks and the wait staff. The whole evening was a treat.
Great pizza and service, we loved the cavelo Nero pizza how divine
Food was fantastic - local ingredients and deft hands in the kitchen lift it above the high standard out there in the inner west for woodfired pizza. Pepperoni from LP Meats. We unintentionally ordered the white bean dip - best mistake ever made - yumm! Service was excellent - friendly, knowledgeable but unobtrusive. Local favourite already.
Pizzas are divine. Staff are very friendly 👍
Enjoyed the experience!!
One of the best restaurants I’ve been to in Sydney! Will definitely be back.
Second time here and just as pleased with the amazing food and service!
A new addition to my list of favourites.
Great wine list & best pizza in town ❤️
Excellent Pizza's with simple menu, focusing on good ingredients and wood fire. Wait staff were attentive and knowledgeable.
Easily one of Sydney’s best Pizzas. Truly exceptional
Great little pizza joint. Clams pizza could do with a little less lemon and more clams but loved the pizza base - the dough was perfect. Service was attentive and friendly.
Great food, ambience and service absolutely loved the traditional and minimalist approach with the menu. This is less is more, high quality produce served with pizazz, will be back for sure!
Love this place. Pizza is delicious, service is great and the sides are amazing.
Delicious food, some wonderfully unusual flavours. Fantastic, friendly, professional and helpful service too.
great pizzas, service and the owners are both working there to make you feel the serious of their food and service to be served . Good vibe and environment as well..
The food was really good - summary and appropriate portion sizes and the pizzas are great (especially the salami one!) However, the wait time was ridiculous, especially since we were there for a 5pm seating.
