I totally recommend Becco! I dare say the best Italian food I’ve ever had. I recommend the three pasta dish since it’s unlimited and you get more for your money + exquisite taste. I also recommend going with an empty stomach so you can really eat! Overall, I really enjoyed it and I can’t wait to go back again.
Amazing pre-show meal.
Always accommodating when you have to make a show
Perfect dinner and service
Our 3rd visit to this lovely restaurant. Great food, outstanding service and wine list.
We always make it a priority to have dinner at Becco when we’re visiting the City. It has a great bar and great food. I had a stuffed pepper the other night, fantastic. They have some nice wines by the bottle at a reasonable price too. Becco is a fun restaurant, definitely worth a try.
My chicken parmigiana was a very thin layer of chicken--not a lot of breast meat. My dinner companions choice of the "three pastas" special was all pleasing to them however
Here in NY from San Francisco. Our first dinner in NY before seeing Hamilton was this restaurant. I chose to come because of the celebrity chef owner. I was so very disappointed. The very small table they put us at warbled, view was of a molded roof, rusty broken air conditioners and broken umbrellas, brought Cesar salad and appetizers at the same time table was so small they just handed to us and left. We put food on our dinner plates then put the dishes in a window sill so we had room to eat, appetizers were tasteless and the salad was limp like it had been dressed hours before, osso bucco was very good, the wait staff asked several times how it was going but never waited for a response. The worse was swatting flies away from our food. We won’t be back.
Our experience today was poor. First, we waited about an hour after ordering to receive our food during a slow lunch. Secondly, we ordered something we previously had at the restaurant only to receive something very different. When we asked the server about it, he didn’t seem to know what the menu item was and asked his supervisor who agreed that the item wasn’t how it normally comes out. Instead of offering to make it correctly or even apologizing, both agreed that hoping next time I ordered it, it would be served and cooked correctly. My plate was barely touched when removed from the table without any concerns from the server and manager who both noticed. We were offered a complimentary dessert due to the extended wait time on receiving our food. We declined politely. We much rather have had our lunches made and served correctly. For a $100 lunch for the two of us, we will definitely not be returning. There are so many wonderful restaurants in the area that truly aim to please their customers with their food and service. We did not receive either today here. Highly disappointed all around.
The food at Becco was good but the service and ambience was awful. Noise level worse than we have ever experienced. Crowded into two person tables, where you are shoulder to shoulder to the next person. The service was abominable. No smiles, no politeness, slow and sloppy. The waiter bumped into our table and spilled our table water. No apology, no clean tablecloth, no attempt to correct the problem. We left as soon as we could.
We were seated in the back room, which was very pleasant with the sky light and back wall stacked with wine. Service was very good and attentive. The wine list was extensive with good range of prices. Our dinner selections were ample and well prepared.
We had the pasta lunch special and all 3 of the pastas were over- cooked
Locale carino, cibo buono e atmosfera informale!
We had tickets for a show and very little time to spend at the restaurant. The waiter was very attentive and timely and we were able to make our show without feeling pressure. The food was excellent!
Excellent pre-theater dinner...the unlimited pasta special is a must! Seated quickly and out in plenty of time for our show. Will definitely return.
Had the mussels and they were outstanding! Sauce was very flavorful and not happy! Always love the bread selection. A really nice place to eat before a show! The service is always good and their Old Fashioned mix drink is great
The only reason for not giving an exception overall rating was because of the wait we had when we checked in. We arrived at our exact reservation time but were told to wait by the bar. We waited for 20 minutes to be seated. It struck me as odd since half the tables appeared empty and there was quite a line to wait on. When we were finally seated and given menus, it was another good 20 minutes before the server came to our table to take our order. This was pre-theatre so we were getting a bit antsy. Service after that was good and we were able to enjoy our meal, but did not have time for coffee which we would have enjoyed.
Even though I attend Broadway shows frequently, I somehow managed to overlook Becco. After several friends raved about it recently, I gave it a try. Everything was top-notch and a very good value, but what I especially loved was the sense of hospitality we felt. Everyone working there is so warm and accommodating! I will be back soon.
BECCO is by far THE most professional, attentive and efficient restaurant operation on Restaurant Row and far beyond. Oh, and the food is MEMORABLY DELICIOUS & THE BUZZ CELEBRATORY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
there is good value here . but you need to not order out of the box . I had a special of branzino . it was good . but not 36.00 good . the waiter needed to give price with the special just like on the menu . it helps the diner make a choice . also as he note in the beginning . one of us were there for her birthday . we even ordered after dinner drinks , the waiter did nothing . no mentions or even a cookie for the birthday person . sad
Food was excellent, but our table was a little small for six people and six plates.
I have been before
This time I felt that the 2 of the pastas were over cooked
Lacked flavor and creativity
The other was much better
Post-Hamilton Birthday dinner. Food and service were superb!
This is a popular restaurant for good reason. The food is great and the prices are reasonable. However, if you want a place where you can talk to someone, this place is very noisy because of the number of large parties they can serve.
We ate at Becco pre theater and had a wonderful meal.
The service was excellent but the food was mediocre. The spaghetti pomodoro had no flavor and the veg canneloni super cheesy and also quite bland.
Incredibly rude waitress, food presentation sloppy. Wouldn’t come back.
The food and service are always great...always recommend Becco to friends and family...
Excellent food, excellent service!
What a fantastic experience we had at Becco this past Sunday afternoon. We were very happy we picked this restaurant.
Great service, creative and great tasting bar drinks, wonderful meal, and most important we had Michael as our server. This is a warm and friendly Italian restaurant located in the theater district.
We will certainly be back!
Go for the 3 unlimited pasta meal. All 3 were delicious! Pesto was my favorite.
This has always been and always will be one of my favorite NY restaurants. My family and I have been going for years and I love taking people for the first time. Never have had a bad experience.
If I could give the server and the food 10 Stars I would. One of the best overall experiences hands down. Pasta was fabulous as was the main course. Server recommended fixed price option and would recommend highly. We will be back!
Food was great. Service was wonderful. Unfortunately we were seated in a balcony area which was so tight I couldn't move my chair to get out or get comfortable. The sound of sirens and cars playing very loud music made what would have been a "great" night into an "ok" night.
It was an excellent experience. Celebrated my Mom’s 70th Birthday. We always have an amazing time when we come to Becco’s to eat. I always have a wonderful experience.
On Saturday night we were there at Becco before seeing a show. We were with my son and his wife as well as her parents. We have always loved the great pasta deal at Becco. This time it did not fail! Even though two of our group had the bronzini they loved it as well. However, this restaurant was crowded and our pasta dishes were served on only one go around. When we complained to the waiter, the manager was very generous and took a great deal off of our checks. We really appreciated that! We will be returning to one of our faves!
Great place for a pre-theater dinner! All 3 pastas were incredible! Kudos to Sammy our awesome and attentive waiter with a great sense of humor and a beautiful smile! We will be back!
Crowded! Service was good considering the number of people. $33 wine good deal. Food just wasn’t that great.
The Sinfonia, and the restaurant overall is an incredible value.
Great food, service and overall experience!
We weren’t rushed at all, but if you’re in a hurry, you can have a full meal in an hour or less
Language barrier with waiters. My plate was worn out, white porcelain finish showed nasty black layer underneath. Really, do we think think Lydia shows up here and does a quality check, LOL. Hard to believe they do not refresh their plates when worn.
Took my son and 10 year old granddaughter for lunch before attending a Broadway show. The food was delicious, the service excellent. My granddaughter, who is a picky eater, LOVED it! Wants to go back the next time we are in the city.
