Beardslee Public House is Chef John Howie’s locally owned, casual and family-friendly restaurant in Bothell, serving scratch-made food with a focus on fresh, seasonal ingredients and approachable Northwest cuisine.     We dine at Beardslee fairly often, but unfortunately, this was one of the worst meals we've had there. The steak on the steak salad was completely tasteless, and the blue cheese dressing was overwhelmingly pungent. The tortilla soup was thick, bland, and had no discernible texture, almost as though it had been sitting on the stove for days. The fish in the fish and chips arrived barely warm, the coating fell right off, and the fries were soggy. It was disappointing across the board, especially since we're regular customers and know Beardslee can do better. Hopefully, this was just a particularly bad night, but the quality of the food was nowhere near what we've come to expect. **UPDATE — October 25, 2026:** I wanted to follow up because I believe it's just as important to recognize a restaurant when they make things right as it is to share when something goes wrong. After my original review, Devon Casey, the General Manager, personally reached out, apologized, and invited all of us back for dinner. What a difference! The experience was night and day. The food was excellent, beautifully prepared, and arrived fresh and hot. The fish and chips were so much better, the jambalaya was absolutely delicious, and the freshly baked dessert was incredible! The service and cocktails have always been wonderful at Beardslee, but this time the food matched that experience. We genuinely appreciate Devon taking our concerns seriously and going above and beyond to make things right. That's the kind of customer service that earns loyalty, and we're happy to continue being regular customers.

    Friendly servers both in the bar and restaurant. Pork chops were tasty, better than the steak frites. Had the affogato for dessert which I highly recommend. Place was packed so a little loud.

    There were 10 of us and when we arrived (by reservation) they had the table set up perfectly. The service was outstanding. Our primary server, Marion M, was amazing. She made sure we all had water, took our drink orders, and then when we were ready promptly took our dinner order. She was friendly the entire time and came by occasionally to see how we were doing. The food was outstanding as well - a generally great place.

    Food was flavorable, but greasy. Many dishes/empty glasses on our table even when new beverages or food was delivered, no one removed them. We had to start staking them. This restaurant came recommended to us, but I doubt we will return.

    Our plane landed late and they accommodated a late evening arrival. Tomato bisque was excellent. The wagyu beef burger with cheese was very good and I rarely eat a burger. Riesling was very good. Martini with their gin was outstanding. They also succeeded in keeping my meal gluten free. Our server even remembered us from last year. Amazing service.

    Ordered the nachos and deviled eggs, both came over salted. Poke bowl was good. The fries with the steak frites were described by our guests as the worst fries they ever had. Pork Chili Verde and ceviche were very good. Desserts were excellent.
