Wonderfully freindly service. Food hit all marks!!
Fiancé said it wasn’t the best clam chowder he has had in SoNo. I tasted it and the clam chowder had bacon in it which was just weird to me. The lobster roll bun was not the traditional grilled New England split hot dog roll but more like midwestern side split potato hot dog bun. It was just wrong. I didn’t eat the bun. The buttered lobster inside the roll was delicious claw and knuckle meat. Fish and chips was also very good. I up charged to truffle fries and they were on point and delicious.
Good but noisy
Beach house is a great spot!
Fun, casual place with a menu that suits any preference! Service is friendly and everyone is great. Eat in or out. Just be sure to try it!
The Beach House was AWESOME!
Our server, Rinaldo was incredibly attentive and knowledgeable!
The food was pure perfection - our “small plates” included Tuna Tartare, Roasted Brussels Sprouts, and Lobster Risotto-each was well portioned and absolutely SCRUMPTIOUS!
Great location for the SoNo Movie Theatre plus parking was a breeze!
1st time visitor. great food. our server was such a professional and very personable. found out only been there 2 months! nice enjoyable evening.
Disappointing experience. The band playing during brunch was much too loud and for some unknown reason the restaurant manager could not get them to lower the volume. Musics was good but way too loud. Food was just ok. Service was good but mainly because we were not happy about the volume of the band and not seats being available in the rear of the restaurant away from the noise. Table also wasn’t cleaned very well and I ended up with chocolate sauce in my hands and wrists. Appreciated the free bloody Mary in an attempt to make the experience a little better.
Waitress was so so. Tired, rushing us. No personality. Food was fab, and great value for the money. Location was outstanding. SoNo at its finest.
Had a fabulous time at this restaurant. Went with family for mother's day and the staff was amazing, food was delicious and prompt. Our server was a delight and we had a wonderful time.
Busy but they made accommodations. Friendly service.
This was a great spot for my family for Mother's Day Brunch~ great variety, delicious food, good service and atmosphere. The computer system was down and you couldn't even tell - they handled it like pros. I would definitely go back. Right across from the aquarium, too, perfect location!
I really wanted to like this place!! The location and setting was so cool, but for a Friday night, they were not busy. We should have walked out then. The food and service were not good for the amount of money we spent. I would not recommend that any one goes there.
Great food !
Romantic dinner with not so much noise
Service very slow and restaurant was empty
i go here often i especially love the brunch menu. You can't go wrong any time of day the food and staff are amazing. It feels like I'm away on vacation whenever I come here.
Came here for lunch on a Sunday. Fresh food. Not anything out of the ordinary, but fresh and good is important! My biggest thing here is that they accommodate families. Changing station in women’s room (you’d get major brownie points if you had one in the men’s room!). They had a section for families, and it just made you feel somewhat normal as dining with a baby is somewhat difficult. It was just a great experience from the service to the food to the atmosphere.
So delicious! Great friendly service! More people need to know about it! Attractive space!
Convienent location. Great staff. Mediocre food. I wanted to love this place. I’m sorry but every course was disappointing. The sushi flatbread has a dense tough bread that made the sushi fall off instantly when bitten. The calamari appetizer was bland and similar to a dozen heat up item from a grocery store. The cinnamon roll sounded like a dream on the menu but was not special at all. It was kind of hard and dry. I was there a month ago and remember it so well because it was so disappointing. I’m so sorry.
Food here is always exceptional. On this particular visit, we had the salmon and the tuna entrees, along with a side of Mac and cheese and of course dessert.
Our first time here and we were a little skeptical when we walked in for our 8 p.m. reservation and there was no one dining; there were a few people at the bar. Our server came over with a very friendly greeting and was so attentive all night (because there was no one there?) We ordered some apps (goat cheese wontons and corn/bacon chowder) and a spinach salad. All really good. My husband had a steak (cooked and seasoned perfectly to his liking) and I had the salmon (see pic). My portion was huge, and a little too much for me to eat. It was very good, but the risotto under my salmon was a little soggy. Still tasty. We would definitely go back as we enjoyed our meal and the super-friendly service, and price was quite reasonable.
Food was Ok. Service great. Layout is different. The back room is designed for families with children. The front is sort of a bar. Menu is limited.
People are missing out! The food was fantastic(6 people who all thoroughly enjoyed their meals) ambiance was beautiful and service was wonderful. Definitely a great overall experience. Will go back for sure.
Friday night, nobody there. Food was ok, service was good, but ended up sick for two days. Suspect food was “aged”.
We were very surprised to find the restaurant empty late on a Friday night. The lack of patronage was easily forgotten though by the good food and attentive waitstaff (for obvious reasons). Cocktails were yummy. Desserts were delicious.
Had dinnner with a friend It was a Wednesday night at 6. The restaurant had only a few tables occupied in the bar room we sat in the back Dinning room. Service , food, and atmosphere were great! There is outside patio seating available but it was way to hot that evening to enjoy outside Dinning. The prix fix dinner menu had a good selection of choices and is a great deal! Looking forward to my next visit!
We had lunch on a week day and had a good time. Food was good, but not exceptional. The goat cheese wontons were particularly good. Our waitress was nice but the food took forever to arrive - we think it was ready but she forgot to bring it, since the restaurant was not crowded and she came with the food as soon as we asked her to check on it. We made a reservation for 4 people by mistake - we were actually 5 - and although the host accommodated us, he put on a very cranky face, making us feel unwelcome. But besides this, the value for the lunch plates was worth it.
The Beach House is a lovely restaurant.Great service, calming atmosphere and the food was spectacular!
A screaming child set the mood for Saturday night -- and we were seated in the back at our request. I suspect the proximity to the Aquarium means more families - and another family with 4 children seated near us was delightful.
I wanted to like the food more -- hubby's corn chowder was really good, and so was his mac n cheese. My spring rolls lacked flavor, and the fish tacos were "drowning" in slaw. My blood orange margarita (or was it a mojito? I forget) did not taste like orange at all.
Maybe I just ordered the wrong food, as hubby was very happy with his. We'll try again.
I wish I could write a better review. The waitress was super lovely and attended us well. The ambience is perfect for the area. however, the food was disappointing. it wasn't bad. it just was so underwhelming. I had the brussel sprout salad, which was supposed to be a hit. unfortunately, it was tasteless. maybe some olive oil and some seasoning?
also there is no validated parking, as per their website. pay as you go.
Horrible. The waitress was trying hard , but struggled and clearly had no idea how to wait on tables. Kept dropping things, placed the main course on top of the appetizer plate we were still working on. Left us to our own devices during the 20 minute waits between drinks, apps and main , as she was the ONLY waitress there on Friday night.
Coconut mojito sweet , bland and I’m not sure if it had alcohol in it.
Long wait for drinks , another 20 minutes before appetizers appeared and they were dreadful. ‘Crispy’ Brussels sprouts were tepid things , boiled with some bacon thrown on top , The meat and cheese plate was sparse and unappealing , the goat cheese wontons appeared after an additional 10 minutes with no dipping sauce , no garnish and looked like they came from a frozen party pack and we didn’t bother eating all of them
After another long wait , where the waitress had to ‘double check our order’ (clearly she forgot ) The main arrived , with two of our plates scalding hot from sitting under the heat lamp. To be fair the risottos and shrimp and grits were very tasty and seemed fresh. It’s telling that we were surprised by this
Even after the restaurant cleared out our waitress was off busing and setting tables , had to ask for check multiple times
It’s pretty pricy for the poor quality and awkward service . Give it a pass
delicious casual dinner- staff was very attentive, lots of options for all kinds of tastes... go!
Food was ok. Restaurant ambiance was fairly absent. Service was average. So unlike its sister property in Old Greenwich which has terrific atmosphere, food and service. A disappointing meal. I would not return. I would be surprised if it is open for any extended length of time.
Overall we were pretty happy with the dining experience at Beach House Sono. Staff was attentive, food was fresh and yummy. For a friday night it was a little quiet - perhaps since they are 2 blocks away from the center of South Norwalk? Not sure but it worked for us. Had a coconut mojito that I would recommend. Also the side of truffle grits was quite tasty. Portions were well sized. We'll go back soon!
This was my first visit to beach house, and I definitely plan to return. All of the food, from appetizers, entrees and deserts, were good sized, presented well, and tasted fantastic.
Always get nervous when I try a new place and no one is in the restaurant. Overall the food had some big hits and a few misses. The mussels where a bit of a disappointment. Yellowfin tuna was a big hit. The wine we originally selected wasn't available so staff recommended something else. It was delicious. Might try it again if restaurant stays in business.
Always a great meal and great time
Really good food. Worth going off the main drag. Easy parking and a nice atmosphere. Try the Brussels sprouts salad.
Food is delicious new owners are amazing way better than when it was mamas boy
We enjoyed our meals of seafood paella and scotch salmon. Both were cooked perfectly with a presentation. Staff was extremely friendly and attentive. We will be sure to visit again next time we are in SoNo.
