The food was amazing. Our server recommended four plates for two people, but we were stuffed after three and you’ll definitely want room for dessert. Do not pass up the hummus or shawarma. The dessert of a strawberry sweet cheese tart was the perfect ending to an amazing meal!
Amazing food and experience. We came here to thank our good friend for officiating our wedding and it did not disappoint. Bavel was easily one of the best meals I’ve had in LA and maybe my life. Brittany was an awesome server. She guided us through our meal with incredible recommendations. We will be back once a year when we want to spoil ourselves
Blair was our waiter and he did a fantastic job. His recommendations were perfect. The food is off the charts fantastic. The floor manager, Theodore was also very kind when he stopped by our table. Go here so good.
Superb!!! The food exceeded everyone’s expectations!!!
Amazing as always! I absolutely love this place and frequent every month. Everything from the service to the sommelier, Julie is just wonderful. Can’t wait to go back (next month)!
Each dish was extremely flavorful, and that house made pita was phenomenal! All portions very generous, would recommend large groups so can try more dishes on the menu. Great wine recommendations
The cous cous was the lightest I've ever had. The chicken liver pate was beautifully presented and great tasting. The breads were all wonderful as well.
Everything was fabulous as usual. I’d have to say server was less friendly than usual servers are there.
The best lamb and duck I have ever had. The servers and staff were so nice and attenttive. We were seated too close to another big table, but other than that, the night was perfect.
One of the best meals to be had in LA. Every bite was delicious. Staff was both super professional and unpretentious. A bit noisy and sceney, but it deserves the attention and to be packed on a Wednesday!
Great vibe and very innovative food.
It's my 3rd trip to Bavel. I recommend the chicken liver pate and the duck nduja hummus to start.
Marinated olives and the Endive and date salad. the Dorade and the lamb chops for the entree.
They plate for the table, everything is to share.
Great servers, no rushing, I try to go early before it gets 'too' loud.
This is a great place for dinner. Relaxed, great service, really good and interesting choices on the menu and a friendly valet. I've already alerted my friends and we'll definitely be back also. Enjoyed it very much!
Great food and servers are well versed in menu. The Noise level is over the top inside; I once ate in the 'outdoor' area without winter covering and the sound/noise was acceptable. January 2020 dinner inside: very hard to hear at times.
Fun, great food. A bit loud and somewhat expensive but very nice.
Delicious food, great atmosphere and the service is great! Quite pricey, so expect to pay a lot -- definitely worth it though! Great Birthday dinner.
Excellent food. The slow roasted lamb neck was especially delicious. Expensive and noisy.
Impossible to talk. I would never go with the intention of talking to anyone
Absolutely wonderful food. Innovative ingredients with a middle eastern feel. A treat!
The restaurant was beautiful and the staff was on top of every detail, from folding my napkin every time i stepped out to having our car ready to go before we even exited the restaurant. Very impressive.
Great food priced on higher side. Restaurant is too noisy almost cafeteria like. Definitely not a place for intimate dinner.
the food was excellent. The beef Sharma was outstanding. The Cauliflower was also excellent. The apple cake was good, but not up to the rest of the meal. The only thing bad about the place was the noise level was over the top. It was hard to hold a conversation.
Walked into an incredibly loud restaurant. Our waiter told us that we were “at the time of the evening when we start running out of things.” We felt that, based on this, he weirdly tried to pressure us to order certain dishes. “I’d really like to see you guys finish with the lamb chops.” What does that even mean?
Dishes we got were good. But the beef cheek tagine was too expensive for the very paltry portion. Wine pours were very stingy. And forget about dessert - there was basically nothing left by the time we got to that point in the meal.
Basically, while the food was good, it felt like we were getting whatever was left from the course of the evening. At this point shouldn’t you be able to plan appropriately for your number of nightly guests? Didn’t see a single warning on the menu that certain dishes are limited.
Definitely did not live up to the hype.
Love it here. The energy is great, food delicious, a bit pricey. But will definitely go back, something compelling about it. Don't miss the spreads and various breads to start, and the licorice dessert was off the charts.
Great food, service, etc, but too loud. I know restaurants consider that "energetic" but it makes it hard to talk to the people with whom you're dining, which is a big part of the dining experience.
Excellent food, but we did not like sitting in the patio since it was very cold, even though the heaters were on. The noise level was way up, so it was hard to have a conversation. Service was very good. Also, the restaurant is by itself in the middle of nowhere, so taking a stroll before/after dinner is not an option.
Amazing amazing amazing food. Make sure to try their 40 oz. tomahawk steak and their lamb chops. They’re to die for.
Love the food and atmosphere but the noise level is too much!!! It spoiled the experience for us! Not sure why they have to have music so loud that people have to talk loud which makes it hard to enjoy.
We loved the scallops and the fresh hummus and pita. SO delicious!
Had an amazing early anniversary dinner. The restaurant is so neat. The ambiance amazing and the food phenomenal. We will definitely be back here again. It is family style dining so I recommend coming in a group to share all of the amazing dishes.
The food was incredible! Absolutely wonderful flavors. Everything else was just so so.
Primary waitress wasn’t friendly just very bland and matter of fact. Actually, seemed a bit angry. Nothing about the service made this a special dining experience. It felt very much ‘get ‘em in, get ‘em out.’ It was also extremely loud.
My first peeve was with the wine server. I know he NOT a sommelier. He brought a red wine to sample. The glass still had the rejected wine and he proceeded to pour another wine sample into the same glass co-mingling the two wine. When we protested, he basically said, it was no big deal. My husband decided to order the second wine. The wine waiter brought a new glass . I stop him as he poured a bit & had my husband the wine the wine. He did rejected the wine as it was not to his liking. But I NEVER been experienced such cheeky serve & attitude. We should have reported him. That pretty much tainted my husband attitude for the evening. He wanted to leave but I persuaded him to stay for our 1st course. We were there to celebrate his birthday! Our waiter Julio was very engaging & provided wonderful service as well as the support staff. However that still didn’t erase the bad service & attitude of our waiter.
Second visit. Unbelievably loud. Ruined the experience. Won’t be back.
This is one of my very favorite places in LA. It's pricey though. However, the menu format allows a lot of flexibility in ordering so you can sort of keep cost down in a relative way. I had a the Marius cocktail with mezcal and apricot liquor. Our table of 3 ordered hummous (excellent, but the duck bits dont add much), babaganoug (so flavorful), malawach layered bread with delicious dip (a bit too greasy towards the end of the meal), cauliflower ( excellent), grilled prawnns (yummm, but too messy), oyster mushroom kabob (delicious although pricey). Everything tasted wonderful and the most notable aspect was that the flavors on all the dishes were distinct and unusual.
With those 6 dishes we were too full for dessert. Next time, I would get the babganoug, farm cheese and butternut squash, and some desserts.
The atmosphere indoors is great, it is a beautiful space. But it got pretty loud after 8:00 even on a Tuesday night.
It was noted that it was my birthday, but Bavel did not do anything special about that.
Lovely . Great food and service.
We had 6pm reservations, great side banquette table...quiet enough..until 8:00ish when loud rap music started and that ruined the ambiance.
One of the best places in Los Angeles!
AMAZING! There is a reason that it's not the easiest place to get a reservation. Well worth the 3 week wait to get in, and MUST sit at the counter to get the full experience. If you love food, this is a must try LA Hotspot!
I love this place! Food is so delicious and satisfied. I will come back to try different foods. And service is very good. They are kind and friendly.
