The Bavarian Miranda
Service was great, friendly & chatty. Love that you get Qantas frequent flyer points.
The service was quick and polite and the atmosphere is good but the food was terrible. I had a schnitzel that I only half ate because it was dry and chewy. My daughter had a hamburger that she did not finish as it was also dry. We have eaten there a fair few times and it has been good. But of late the food quality seems to be getting worse. We will definitely not be going back there again 🙁.
Ordered the jäger schnitzel which was overcooked, mushroom ragout with hardly any mushrooms and an over reduced cream sauce. With broccoli? Only two small florets. Other people on the table ordered mac and cheese balls but a cheeseburger came instead. Older male staff member with glasses seemed unenthusiastic. Drinks were great!
The "New menu" was a little bit of a disappointment - delighted to see BBQ ribs return, but they were not as nice (or tender) as the old ones.
The sausage plates have dropped in value: used to have 2 sides, now only 1.
We were not able to exchange sides: wife (cannot eat potato) had to order potato, and get red cabbage as side.
Chilli beef sausages weren't spicy, and were tough/chewy. Will go kransky next time.
No wedges or Redbock, either :(
It was truly difficult to capture any waitresses' attention as they either walked straight past or avoided eye contact. We celebrated a small birthday and they lovely waitresses sang the birthday song without asking for the birthday lady's name! Thoughtful but quite the awkward situation.
We had a casual baby shower lunch on a Saturday afternoon in April. The staff were really accommodating and set up individual tabs as our guests arrived throughout the day. They provided us a great space, including a gifts table and room to play games. We were also permitted to bring our own dessert and decorations. The service was excellent, staff were very attentive with our orders and meals arrived promptly. Portions were large and filling, everyone had a great time. Thank you so much!
Great food, great service
Service was slow, but food was nice.
Good Friday but it was still up to its usual high standard of food ,drink and service. Missed seeing Kristina our hostess with the mostest.
City views exceptional and the open feel makes it very comfortable, beer and food is great
Service was slow and non existent and staff needed to be called over to tables so people could order their drinks and food after waiting patiently for service to begin. There was not many people in the restaurant. Once you were seated the waitresses seemed to disappear. Drinks sat on bar for quiet a time and i needed to ask waitress once i flagged one down to bring them over after 10mins. She then walked away and again after another 10 mins needed to flag her down again to take food order. It just seemed like no one was operating at full speed. It wasn't just our table it was many around us. Not a good night i had planned for my daughter and nieces that were excited to eat there and then to the movies after dinner. Food in gold class was better.
We had a great dinner. Good food and service. Staff excellent
The night was ok, service was fast initially, but it was extremely loud to the point where I couldn't hear myself think, and the lighting was REALLY dim (I had to get my phone light out to read the menu).
Food was great as always then it took us a long time to find someone to pay the bill to leave.
When our table of 6 first arrived for our 1pm booking, it took over 15 minutes for a drinks order to be taken. Once the menus were taken, almost immediately another waitress asked if we had been served. Having dined here several times, this seems to always be the case... tables seated and no orders taken and as soon as the menus are gone, THEN we seem to get service. Food was good, but sparse for the money with sides being quite expensive. Beer offerings are plentiful. Very expensive for a Coke.
Chose because G/F options. Chose G/F rated meal. Started to eat and realised not G/F although clearly stated G/F. Manager said oh we can make it G/F. No you can make me very unwell. So meals rated G/F aren't. Very deceptive and wrong.
Good food, like the make your own salad. large serving sizes but quite expensive.
Beautiful food wonderful service will never get used to the noise levels it was too hard to have a conversation across the table.
The later you can book the better. 6:0-8:00 there was a lot of kids running around. Lit and lots and lots of noise. Left with a full belly but ringing ears.
Was a little disappointing to be honest . There were 5 of us celebrating a birthday. Only 1 meal came out hot the rest barely warm. Twice we asked for small things that never came. My daughter and son requested sauce for their burgers because they were dry but it never came and also for a glass of water that didn't arrive. Alcohol however when requested did arrive. Staff were nice but we felt too busy to do their best. Never been before and would be hesitant to return. Atmosphere was great but food let them down. Staff were flat out.
loved it food was great, location was great and staff Jacinta and Olivia exceptional
When we arrived our table had been given to someone else. The wrong drinks were brought to the table twice (as in someone elses)then when ours were brought we were told that drink a was drink b which resulted in people starting to drink the wrong drinks We had to ask for cutlery. When we asked for water for the table we were told we should have been offered this on arrival. Service was slow, only half cleaned the table then walked away while we were ordering desert. waitress was on another planet
* 8 minutes after being seated we were served our meal. Drinks were already on the table. The staff were very busy but still had time for a smile and a short conversation. The noise level was up a bit but we could still have a conversation without having to strain your voice or yell. It was a very pleasant dinner and we will be back.
Just fantastic. The staff are awesome so friendly and very accommodating on all levels.
From the time we got to the restaurant the service was poor and out of our choose of wine so we had to pay a lot more for a very average and overpriced wine my wife had the salmon it was the smallest portion of salmon with a teaspoon of coleslaw at a hi cost I ordered the taste plate for one it was just warm and our friends meal were ok we ask for the dessert menu only 3 choices nothing to our liking so we went to Messina gelato down stairs we came to the Bavarian bier cafe 12 months ago which we had a great night and how 12months was total opposite very disappointing for a high cost.
Great place to get together with with friends and family have a few drinks and a good German feed
The atmosphere was good. Table for four comfy. We went for NYE celebrations and to the 9.15 sitting. It wasn't packed but service for drinks was quite slow. Had a set menu - hot pretzels and cold cuts for starters. Only one very small butter for 4 pretzels? The oysters were very cold, fresh and had an amazing flavour combo. The salmon was lovely but the "butter mash" tasted like powdered mash. Didn't actually get dessert as promised. Also music was WAY too loud. Made talking hard.
Staff did not know menu, i was told didn't have Light beer, asked about the spiciness of a meal, was told mild, no one at the table could eat that meal and was to dry.
took 30 to 45 min to order mains, my meal is ok
Quick professional service
We dined on a Sunday night. Had to add an extra adult which was no problem. Spacious table. Friendly service. Waiter memorized our order for 7. Kids ate free. All meals came out together all correct and decent servings. Did not feel rushed to leave. Fairly quiet. Kids played on soccer table. Could not find fault.
First time I have ever been to a Bier cafe that has run out of a number of its tap beers. Probably 20% of its beers on tap were out.
We had a great night. Service was great and they accommodated our group very well.
Entree chicken wings were horrible.
Mains of pork belly and burgers were good.
Out of some beer lines which dissapointed.
Overall a little under expectations.
Great night out with the boys!
Have been a couple of times, food was absolutely awesome but drink service was really really slow and its happened on a number of occasions.
We really enjoyed our visit at the Bavarian Bier Cafe. It's a family favourite. Good food and friendly service.
Great food ,service and beer. A little noisy especially with the kids entertainment table, but that could be controlled by good parenting. Highly recommended though. Great atmosphere. Have been to two locations , Miranda and Manly, and both were fantastic.
service average...waited 30 mins for drinks...and had to ask 3 times for the bill...
Unfortunately I recommend this restaurant as it has been great the last 2 times we went and my parents had had a bad experience prior and weren't keen and my brother and his family had heard not so good experiences from their friends but we came and everyone had an issue unfortunately it wasn't the best and one of the male waiters didn't seem to think we deserved his time, 1 child meal was missing and an extra added to the bill lucky kids are free, wrong lettuce came with my salad and it's an issue for medical reasons missing pretzels, we were last to arrive and no one came near us for more than 30 mins to order drinks and then wrong beer was brought to the table with attitude and huffing and puffing, also ridiculous fee for byo cake so we chose not to bring a cake for my sons bday, overall extremely disappointing I doubt we will be back.
It was our first time at the Bavarian and we all had a great time. Food was great, the service was excellent and there was a great atmosphere.
Food was not great and quite expensive
It was better than last visit ( now have Lowenbrau on tap). If they can emulate the atmosphere of the Lowembrau in the city with kids face painting and some music it would be better.
