Amzing love the food
It was Valentine’s Day, and my husband and I wanted somewhere for dinner that was both casual, yet fancy. The Bavarian was perfect, as it has that casual atmosphere we love, yet a gorgeous view of the river.
Our sever was lovely and ended up relocating us from our table indoors to a table outdoors (even though they were booked out) so that we could have a view of the water. The valentines special was yummy (I’m now a fan of the giant pretzel!) and the cocktails were divine. We will visit again.
Very accommodating, great food!
Service was a bit haphazard. Food was great, though. Location has a great view, especially if you sit outdoors. Good experience overall.
Food was great and friendly staff 💕🙏🏻😊
Great location and food is what you expect but horribly understaffed. The staff who were on were doing their best however it as a long wait for drinks IF you could find someone to take your order.
Loud stressful music making it hard to talk and makes you wish you had gone elsewhere. Food wait time long. Waitress over charged so we had to get manager to refund us. I use to live in Germany and spend a lot of time in Bavaria. There was not much feel if Bavaria in this place !
Best thing about this place is the view and you can get that in other places along the river! Service was disinterested and the table and chairs were covered in sticky stuff, beer and sauces. One bartender was good, the others couldn't care less. Pork was predictable and good, calamari nice and it all came quickly which was great. One veggie item unavailable. No table service and no interest from staff made it an uninspiring visit for an 18th birthday. There are new places in Brisbane offering the same concept so this place needs to train it's staff, act like they care and find a point of difference to make me go back.
The service was amazing, and the food was great. My family and I were there for my graduation and it was definitely the best choice. I would recommend to anyone having a special occasion.
We had a German speaking waiter from Bavaria! Made it more authentic
We liked the drive to the city for this special occasion. Not eating at our usual places was a plus. The surroundings at he restaurant was very enjoyable. Waterfront, bridge, boats etc. We asked for a outdoor spot, but was given a table right at the door which was great, as close to outside as was possible. The food was what we expected. Pork knuckles, frankfurters, mixed platter and beers. Very enjoyable evening. Thanks. We'll see you again.
Great venue but didn’t appreciate being asked to leave early because the next group that needed our table had arrived early!
Top location. Excellent service, huge meal good atmosphere.
Always a fun night great for celebrations over looking the river
I was visiting a friend in Brisbane. Great atmosphere, it was very busy but that didn’t stop any of the friendly waiters and waitresses from being cheerful. The food was amazing, we had the squid, the pork knuckle, and the sausages. Good stuff all topped with a brilliant view of the river. Definite must go.
It was noisy for date night. I feel the experience would be better for the lunch hour crowd.
Little pricy for the type of food.
Had a great night with good food and great beers. Excellent service.
We had dined at a Barvarian Cafe in Melbourne so we wanted to try this one is Brisbane but were a like disappointed in the the overall looks and food compared to the one is Melbourne just wasn't the same and the food was more expensive in Brisbane.
Service was excellent.
Share platter was huge but burgers were disappointingly small.
great location, great simple food especially the schnitzels great German beer and good friendly service
What a great place to have a catch up with friends. Thoroughly enjoyed our night and can't wait to come back.
Not a great deal of vegetarian main meals; but overall good
Drinks where very expensive - vodka and lemonade cost $12.50.
Food is yummy and big sized & good prices
View is amazing
A fun place to meet with friends wonderful service and amazing food
Was a great evening, however we booked for 7 people and Open Table informed the restaurant that it was only a booking for 6 people!
The food was amazing I still cant stop thinking about how good the dinner was, the service was great and on time. The atmosphere was electric and everyone was upbeat. The drinks were great also.
Great food, great beer, great view. Good fun all round.
Tasty food and drinks however the service was not up to standard. My friend asked for aoli sauce which was mentioned on the menu but it did not come with his meal, even though he asked the waitress again for it he did not get it. Also the sorbet took a while to get to the table, we had to ask the waitress again for it and when it came it to the table it was in a prepackaged little tub so we were unsure what the wait was for as they had clearly gotten it out of the freezer and just served it with a spoon. Paid the bill at the end of the night and then asked the waitress for the receipt, she gave us the bill for another table.
The atmosphere is no longer what it was. The service was very average, starting at the front desk & right through to the timing for ordering. Menu has changed, outfits plain from serving staff & the only remaining semblance of a Bavarian Café is the name.
All round good dishes although the giant thuringer bratwurst was not for a big appetite, as the menu said it was. Was not full after eating this.
Awesome venue, we loved it.
The service is very good but one waitress's English was poor and I could not understand her and she was also rude. I did expect more of a dining experience rather than a club feel. The dining area should be away from the bar not right next to it. Way too noisy. These guys sell one thing and it's not good food or Bier.
We just loved our dinner and drinks at the Bavarian Bier Cafe. The food was just incredible. The pork belly just melted in your mouth and the crackling was superb. My partner and I love German food but this was beyond anything we have ever had before. The drinks were also diverse and good value. The peach schnapps was a lovely refreshing choice when mixed with lemonade. The service was spot on. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. We will be back!!! (Right now if I could!!!)
Defintitely a place for beer lovers.
A nice spot to catch up with friends, our table was right at the bottom of the stairs though, which had people rushing down and running into us all night, a little annoying - I would think for safety reasons a table shouldn't be this close to the stairs (we were on the floor safety strip).
The food was very nice and the drinks were great :)
It wasn't very special - service was dissapointing
Terrible customer service were left waiting for long periods. Got our order wrong
The table service should atleast have a waiter in the table service area at all times. I had to keep looking for a waiter to order. The waiters were just running around and came to our table just thrice to take the order, serve the food and the bill. But yes the Food was amazing !
Great location but service didn't match the quality of the view or the price.
As an out-of-towner, I chose this restaurant as the venue for a catchup with 3 other couples from Brisbane that we usually only get to see once a year. OMG... the food was great, the service was great, the drinks were great...in the happy hour,(otherwise very expensive for Spirits). The only downside was the noise. We couldn't hear ourselves think, let alone hear each other! My mistake though... definitely not the venue for older than 30s to catchup!
