As always, the food and service were outstanding! I had the osso buco and my girlfriend had the lobster risotto. Both dishes were perfectly prepared and delicious. The waiter was attentive but not intrusive. Barolo always makes a night out special!
We arrived a few minutes due to parking. Many garages were shut due to ongoing demonstrations downtown.
We were told to keep the travel we’d reserved we would need to finish by 8p because there was another party booked. While we were taken aback by the way we were told this, we said we could finish our meal quick enough to meet their timeline. Interesting because if we did want to drink wine, and socialize we would have had 1.5 hours max even if we were on time (7 minutes earlier than our actual arrival).
To our surprise the table they had picked for us was around the corner of the bar in a corner. It was pushed up against table top chairs situated along the wall (I assume this was spacing considerations given COVID19). Nonetheless, our view was of a beautiful light fixture, and the wall.
The service was ok. The bartender was attentive, and our food came out timely. The pasta I ordered was very al dente, I was chewing a considerable amount of time and it took away from an otherwise good dish. My dining companion found the clams in her pasta to be gritty. Though the tomato and mozzarella appetizer was delicious.
All in all, I would not recommend this restaurant for an impressive Italian meal. There are many other spots in Seattle and Bellevue that are worth checking out.
Great food and great ambience. The serve was very knowledgeable and knew how to give a great service without bothering us. It was our anniversary they made it very special.
Food was incredible as always. Service was amazing. Barolo never disappoints. Same amazing experience every time!
AMAZING FOOD! No disappointments . Great atmosphere and knowledgeable staff.
The ambiance was nice with good background music. Hostess took our temperature reading and then asked us if we would like to sanitize our hands. Not sure if that was for our benefit or theirs. That was a bit awkward. Food was great and not too expensive. My portion was very large and I had enough to take home. Service was a bit slow as the waiter took our drinks and appetizer order but took a long while for him to coem back to take our dinner order. Same with getting the bill. He did bring a complimentary dessert for our anniversary which was unexpected. The food was definitely the best part of the restaurant experience
Very friendly staff, felt very welcome! Food was amazing and we went for happy hour, so it was a big bang for our buck!
Food and service was outstanding.
We had an amazing happy hour dinner at Barolo. It is a fantastic bargain, providing 50% off of the Bar Menu. This isn’t any bar menu. We dined on Grilled Caesar Salad, a Prosciutto plate, Pasta Carbonara, and a bowl of Rigatoni in a beef and veal ragu. The food was delicious, maybe the best pasta we tasted in Seattle, and portions were huge. Service was Euro elegante, as our server Marcin was urbane and sophisticated, understanding both wine and cooking. Barolo was a big city experience, deserving of accolades.
Unfortunately, restaurant critics in Seattle favor the overly casual restaurants, where utensils are sticks, tables are bare, and the sound track indy homogeneous. Food is almost secondary to the scene. Barolo is the exception, elegant, classy, and with a kitchen that respects the classics. Great food does not need to be reconstructed. Barolo is one of the best restaurants in Seattle. With the happy hour deal, it is now accessible to anyone. Please go, enjoy, and see why a touch of class really isn’t pretentious. In today’s vituperative world, we all could use a little bit of class.
Very cozy romantic restaurant with a great selection on their menu. The quality of the ingredients is outstanding. We had the polipo, antipasti misto, osso buco, fillet barolo and the gnocchi. The flavors are great, maybe a little bit too bold with the amount of herbs in their gnocchi and the sauce for the filet in my opinion. But it did not affect the fact that we enjoyed the excellent service and had a great time.
Very good first-time experience with family that was visiting Seattle for the first-time.
Barolo always prepares excellent dishes, and the staff are friendly.
We decided on Barolo to celebrate a friends birthday and we simply could not be more pleased with both the service and the food. Barolo's food has never disappointed and I genuinely believe I could eat any dish from here and be blown away by the taste, quality, and presentation. But what made our night truly special was our server, Vivienne. She could not have been sweeter!! She was incredibly attentive but allowed us space to still enjoy our night with little interruption and made us feel so comfortable. By the end of the night, we wanted to be best friends with her!
I could not give a higher recommendation for Barolo - It has everything you could ever look for in a restaurant; fantastic food, tasty (strong) drinks, and an out of this world staff. Thank you for making our friends birthday a truly special one! We will definitely be returning as soon as we can.
Premium quality Italian with great service. High end feel with knowledgeable staff and great chef!
We went to Barolo to celebrate my daughter’s engagement with a dear friend. This has always been one of our favorite places and as usual, it did not disappoint. Food and wine were lovely. Service was excellent. Glad they are surviving the pandemic. Simply one of the best Seattle spots.
Fantastic experience for my Wife’s Birthday. Amazing food, wine, and service!
Food and service were excellent.
Amazing food. So many subtle flavors.
Everyone was very accommodating and mindful of current circumstances although sidewalk dining, tables could be farther apart. Food was delicious for sure!
Our Rez was for 6:30 but we arrived for happy hour at 6 which went till 6:30. Strange that they wouldn’t let us bring our wine from happy hour to our table, they said happy hour drinks have to stay in the bar area, so we had to chug our wine and proceed to dinner. I ordered lobster risotto and it was amazing. Drinks were expensive but overall a great night out. Amid the covid crisis, all the waiters and workers there wore masks and customers too until dinner was served.
Disappointed in the food given it was so highly recommended but the service & kindness made up.
The food is great, our waitress was exceptional, very knowledgeable came across like she really enjoyed her job.
New to Seattle & feel lucky to have found Barolo on the first night of reopening after COVID-19. This will become a regular stop for us!
Absolutely loved everything, it was my husbands and I first date in 2 years and I’m so happy we went here it was so amazing!
Barolo never disappoints is, it’s our neighborhood go too when we want Italian comfort food & drink
I recently dined at Barolo, and it was an outstanding experience. We are not from Seattle, so we made our reservation online, then the day before, we stopped by the restaurant to look it over. We asked if we could choose our table for the following day, and the staff were happy to accommodate us. We chose a booth, along the windows. Very nice choice in the end.
Our overall experience was simply great. Our server, Samantha looked after our every need. She helped us pick the wine, our food choices, and desert. There were other staff who helped out with serving the food, refilling water, etc. They were all very friendly and professional.
While the prices at Barolo are not inexpensive, you do get what you pay for. Fabulous tenderloin steak, grass fed, locally sourced....was simply one of the best I've ever had. All the accompanying dishes were creative and original. No mashed potatoes or simple/cheap dishes. It was all original and exceptional.
I look forward to returning again some day.
It was too dark to see what I was eating. I ordered the rabbit pasta and thought what I put into mouth was an olive. I was unpleasantly surprised that it was a rabbit kidney.
Burata was excellent. Crab linguini was not good tasted like butane. Let the waiter know and still got charged for it. Won't be going back.
Delicious food in a trendy environment! The server was kind and engaging too.
The salad and the spaghetti carbonara were excellent. The fettuccini with rabbit ragu was so poor I couldn’t eat it. The pasta was overcooked, the rabbit was grisly and the sauce was terribly sweet. We had a show to go to afterwards but the waitresses kept insisting she bring us out another spaghetti even to take home. So we acquiesced after being pushed so hard. We thought she was doing it to make up for the one bad dish. Then we found she charged us for the extra dish but did take the cost of the rabbit off. A $3 discount. We felt really hustled. The music was really bad loud club music too. Too bad. I’ve had a good experience here before and it’s close to the office so a good choice after work. But not anymore.
Our food was excellent. Service was great. However, despite the tablecloths, the noise at dinnertime was excessive. Lots of large groups, business type groups, and downtown workers.
Convenient for Jazz Alley concert.
The food was good, as well as service. The only complain is the level of noice after fire alarm went on but i doubt you could control that.
Two excellent mains from the regular menu - squid ink pasta with seafood and the duck breast, but the special black cod with “Hawaiian” sauce was overcooked, and the flavors were not that appealing. Tiramisu to die for, however.
Food was good. I wish the waiter knew more about the food on the menu, and didn’t treat us like a quick table to flip especially since there was no one else waiting.
Great food and ambiance! Had a wonderful server and staff who seated us earlier than expected.
Food and drinks were excellent. Service was bad. We made a reservation way in advance, but lots of people had to wait for their reservations too. At the same time, staff was rude and clearly upset we were all in the way :/
Fantastic! Waiter was awesome, wine selection was impressive as was his knowledge of what they had. Meal was superb! Best dinner all around in Seattle after 5 nights of eating out - our favorite!
The experience was great overall, but the tables were too close together. It was hard for everyone to move around. The table we had was also shaky. The best thing were the entrees and the dessert. I also enjoyed my cocktail a lot. Appetizer was good but not great. Service was great even though they were really busy.
