Barnes and Noble Kitchen-Eastchester
Barnes and Noble Kitchen in Eastchester is a great effort at creating a community gathering place in the atmosphere of a great book offering. The setting is lovely, the people who work there are really nice and responsive. Don't go for the food. I suggested it for myself and friends for dinner. Nothing stood out and many of the items for our table of seven were disappointing. I had pasta which was supposed to have snap peas, mushrooms, and asparagus. All it had that I found was ricotta and barely cooked asparagus stalks - the almost white hard ends that if I were cooking would have been broken off and tossed. It wasn't good and not worth the price. However, that said, I'll go back for coffee and a muffin or scone which are always wonderful. B&N, thanks for trying.
Very disappointing this time! The server didn’t write down our order (not sure why this is a thing!) and parts of the order were missing when it came out: The chicken to go with my salad and
the cheese and meatballs to go with my son’s spaghetti. We had to keep asking for them, and by the time the (very dry) meatballs came out (still with no cheese), my son was done with the spaghetti. So we asked for some extra sauce - took awhile to get it and then they attempted to charge us $3 for the sauce per the chef. To go on the dry meatballs that they forgot to give us. Each item came out one at a time - very disorganized and took longer than necessary. Usually have a good experience here but it will be awhile before we go back.
Food was good. I had the Avocado omelet on bread, the portion of eggs could have been larger.
It was my husbands birthday, but they didn’t do any special dessert or singing for him. It’s more like a cafeteria.
I come here often to meet friends for a quick bite to eat and I am never disappointed.
Food is good, service uneven, check in desk confused. We checked in and were seated. I received a call 30 minutes into our meal saying we had not shown up. Went to front desk and they said they would correct it. In the interim Open Table canceled the dining rewards gift card unbeknownst to us. So we were unable to use it to pay for our meal. After we paid ourselves we were able to resolve it by getting the points back, but the whole thing was unnecessary.
Birthday Lunch with friends.
Great food and service
Tasty menu, attractive setting, one waiter assigned for entire cafe--they need more help. Although vastly overworked, the waiter was pleasant and as efficient as he could be under the circumstances.

The menu is not huge but everything is delicious!! They have added a few new items which are also very good. The wine is very good also. Just be sure that if you are a B&N member that you use your membership card for the discount. The servers do not always ask if you are a member.
Perfect every time and loved my shrimp salad! Loved making the most of a sunny day and sitting on the patio.
Great ambiance, food is very good but menu is limited & it’s definitely quality vs quanriry. Super for a snack & coffee or glass of wine or beer friending in time of day.
Ordered a burger. Asked for it to me medium rare. Was assured that it would be. It was well done. For $17? Not a great experience. Complained. Waitress stared at me, looked down and then walked away without a word. This was my second visit to the restaurant in B&N. The first time no one came to take our order. After 10 minutes, we walked out. B&N, service sets food establishments apart. Next time I’ll just go to 5 Guys and call it a day.
Harold, our Kitchen server/waiter was excellent! Very rare to experience such top level of service anywhere let alone Barnes and noble kitchen. Thanks Harold!
Setting is nice and peaceful. Food is good but slow to come. Not the best place if you are in a rush or hate waiting at your table
Server forgot our appetizer. We felt ignored by our server. We had to ask 3 different employees for coffee, check.
Food portions are good. However, the noise level is loud because tables are so close together. I was seated at a table without a napkin nor cutlery and did not receive them until I asked. I also asked for water with lemon and was brought one lemon wedge.
Perfect spot for books and dinner
Great for kids. Easy parking. Reliable food. Reasonable prices. Poorly managed staff and kitchen typically provide indifferent and often frustratingly slow service (with occasional exceptions). Yet it remains one of the best family eating out options in the area.
Its a cute spot in an unexpected place. The menu offers much more than you would expect and the service is great.
I enjoyed a lovely Caesar salad with grilled chicken and a lemonade. My son loved his salad with steak and his friend enjoyed her kale salad. It was a nice ambiance and the server was very nice to all of us.
Did not give me open table points
Sat outside ..
Nice , food was fine, service was poor.
Food was very good, service was not! Wait staff appeared inexperienced and unorganized . Took 20 minutes and several times requesting to get a piece of lemon for iced tea.
Portions have been greatly reduced. Was informed that pancakes are now measured to not exceed 4ozs! Amazed by that answer from our server as he explained that it is a cost saving measure. No matter where we have gone, pancake batter is usually poured by hand and never by weight. Previously we were always served a plate filling portion at the very same establishment and never was it so small. Server also informed us that others complained about the serving size while we were there and he gave them the same answer, they also left dissatisfied. Thick cut bacon was served so crisp it was burned. We would not recommend this place to anyone. After having the same meal on more than 12 visits, I can say that they need to look at their business model and get back to where they started when they first opened.
Wonderful food, lovely staff, beautiful setting/decor. Will certainly be back.
Nice place for a salad or burger. The food is very good. Outdoor seating area a plus. Service very friendly, though they seemed a bit short-staffed.
Went there for Father’s Day brunch. Pancakes and mimosas were very good. Food and books together at last :)
This has become one of my favorite places. Everyone I bring here also falls in love with the food.
A great place to stop for a bite to eat while shopping at Vernon Hills in Eastchester. Menu is limited but tasty, and the service is slow, but not impossibly slow. The outside patio is fantastic for dining alfresco in the spring and they have an awning which makes it nice and shady.
Never disappoints!
Limited menu, but everything is delicious!
Outdoor seating available— delightful!
Mother’s Day gathering
Great food and atmosphere. It was a wonderful Mother's Day Brunch!
Great for families, friends, business is solo. Food is fresh and delicious. You can work if you need to or just hang out.
Fabulous Saturday lunch and first al fresco dine on the season. Always love their salads and the three of us ordered the same veggie salad with chicken....green goddess dressing on the side. Our server provided endless coffees....but service was slow. As none of us were in a rush, it worked out! Looking forward to my return visit.
We both had the Avocado Toast which was delicious as always!
Thanks for the friendly service. We had a good time.
Excellent value. The chicken with potato purée is fabulous! (We always have it without the tarragon butter)
Also, if you’re not into mashed potatoes, they make the best fries in all of Westchester!
Excellent ambiance, beautifully-plated dishes, and fantastic service by our server Hector! Took my parents out for an Easter Sunday brunch. Will definitely return!
I love that there is actually really good food in a B&N. The Grilled Cheese is my favorite and I never thought I’d ever say that about any place. Their brisket burger is quite good too!
