BaoziInn - Romilly Street
Baozilnn -人民公社, meaning “people’s canteen” has been brought to you by Barshu group, which, twelve years ago, caused a sensation on the London restaurant scene by opening Barshu Restaurant.
Great restaurant, went for a quick lunch and such delicious food and many options. Highly recommend.
Really lovely food and atmosphere. The restaurant is very small but has a nice feel to it. We felt comfortable and enjoyed our lunch. Would have preferred more of a choice of tea and perhaps not just a teabag in a mug. Apart from that the dumplings were delicious.
Overall, the food is fresh and tasty and good value for money. The place is quite small and perhaps a little disorganised. The only reason for not giving 5 stars was the slightly slow and chaotic service. In the end, we were offered a large table in a private alcove...a luxury for 3 for Sunday lunch. £75 for the three of us including tip for dim sum. I would go again, but not if I was in a hurry.
I booked a table for 6 people at Baozilnn - Romilly Street to celebrate a friend that was leaving London. The food and service were amazing and all my friends were very delighted with the choice. There are no many places in London where you can have great quality of food at a very honest price. Will come back for sure and I have already recommended the venue to couple of friends.
A perfect spot for a fast lunch!
We enjoyed everything, that was delicious and fresh!
We loved it!
When I arrived they didn’t have a table ready even though I made a reservation, which was not great... but the food was really good and the place looks lovely
Really good food, dumplings, and noodles were all amazing!
Excellent Chinese food. The pak choi was just right: a tiny bit crunchy and not overcooked with a lot of flavour and served with garlic. The pork was very tender and juicy, and the scallops cooked just right. I had previously had the spinach which was a delight. It is better to book but we were always well received and had a nice table.
Such a great experience at BaoziInn, the staff were very helpful and attentive, and the food was phenomenal! Lots of great options and food arrived speedily. Highly recommend the Prawn and Chive dumplings.
Food was flavourful and authentic, albeit fairly small portions. The service was attentive and our server was really helpful, though clearly overworked in terms of number of tables. The dim sum was tasty though rather sticky. The scallops were absolutely fantastic. Our table was in a small and stuffy room in the back that was lacking in ambiance. This was a pity given that my parents were visiting from overseas and I had requested a good table. There was nothing particularly bad about BaoziInn, but I'm not rushing to recommend it.
The place is a little bit dark but it makes it even more cosy. I can't remember names of two girls who were serving us but they were both very lovely and patient as we couldn't decide what to have. We got our food pretty fast and oh my, that food.
I've had Dan Dan Noodles for the first time in my life and it was simply amazing. My boyfriend had Spicy Beef Shin Noodles in Broth and it was also great.
We're not from around London but next time we're there we're definitely coming back.
The value is true to the quality and the overall experience was great.
They must have had an off day
Il cibo è ottimo, il servizio altrettanto. Rapporto qualità prezzo non bilanciato. Porzioni non abbondanti.
The only bad thing was that there were no more Xiao Long Bao, that created a kind of a disappointment
Food is good but service is quite slow and doesn’t check on you much
Good food, service and ambience.
We had a wonderful time and enjoyed the food a lot!
Decent meal, with decent service in a central location
I’ve dined here a few times before and always had a good experience. But this last time was ruined after one of the waiters spilled chilly sauce all over my mum’s coat. They apologized and gave us some wet wipes. The stains never came out, even after a few trips to the dry cleaners. Won’t be going back.
What we could eat - we don’t eat pork - was delicious! We had the dim sum platter ( 3 type of prawn), the wontons (2 types of prawn), the salt and pepper squid and the king prawns (again) on a stick. All delicious but glad we didn’t have a shellfish allergy or dislike!
Not very welcoming. Too pricey. Not much room to eat. My tea came in a mug and cost me £2.80 !!! I will not go again
Dumplings were delicious, all other items on the menu really disappointed.
Excellent Chinese Restaurant in the Heart of Soho. Reservations undoubtedly essential and there is good reason why! The Dan Dan noodles were amazing, with a peanut-y, Szechuan pepper sauce, ground pork and chewy fresh noodles. The dumplings are a star here, whether you come her for Baozi-doughy dough balls with pork or veggie filing or Siu Mai with yummy shrimp/pork filling. The wrappers for the dumplings are made in house too, and are colourful as they use fresh spinach/beetroot and turmeric water to colour and flavour the dough. I love it here and come here almost every time I visit London.
Wonderful dim sum and very reasonably priced. Brisk service but amazing food!
we enjoyed very much...different type of eating for us and its good to try
The dumplings looked very good but were a little flabby
Lovley staff and the food was very good. Really raccoment it!
Good if you know what you're coming from, we were seated quite near the door though so felt like we got forgotten about a bit, and were in the pathway of people coming in and out the restaurent
Excellent food, we went there for a very late lunch/early dinner. So there was not much traffic.
Exquisitely beautiful food that packs a punch in terms of flavours. Will definitely return. Charming service too.
Im a Bit of a dim sum snob usually, so i was very impressed by the quality and innovation of the dim sim here. Will definitely come back in the future!
I was glad to finally visit Baoziinn after it seeing on a lot of ‘best dim sum in London’ lists for some time. I was lucky to be there on ‘National Dumpling day’ and the restaurant we’re doing a 2 for 1 deal on certain dishes. The prawn chengdu was included on this and was definitely my favourite. It comes with a delicious sauce, is a great portion size and then we got the second portion for free! The famous brightly but naturally coloured dim sum were also very tasty as were the xiao long bao soup dumplings. I wasn’t so keen on the main dish I ordered which was the braised pork belly as it was slightly too sweet tasting to my liking but it was well cooked. I think if I visit again I will order a noodle dish as a main.
In terms of the restaurant itself, the tables are quite close together so you do end up eavesdropping on your neighbours’ conversation a bit. Overall an affordable dim sum place in Soho with good service. I would love if they offered cocktails too as drinks menu was quite limited. But otherwise I think I would definitely return for more of the delicious dim sum.
It was National dumpling day, however, the waiter told us something wrong, so we are not satisfied what we had.
The food is fantastic but the service leaves quite a lot to be desired. Strongly recommend the dan dan noodles and the xiao long bao
Poor service and we waited long for the food
Me and my gf was looking for somewhere we haven’t been too before, we was not disappointed, food was fantastic and big sizes, which is good as I eat a lot!! Wine was nice aswell and I spent less than £100 ☺️ staff was very friendly helped us with our chopsticks and was in general really friendly
I came here for lunch with a friend and we split several dumpling items from the menu. Service was slightly awkward, however food was tasty.
Service was really slow. Had to wait 25mins for a pre booked table. Food was really bad. Half of it was inedible. Avoid.
Delicious as always!
The food all arrived at the same time despite our instructions and none of it was particularly hot. There was no attention to our needs during the meal and we had to repeatedly ask for simple things like a glass for the water ordered. The quality of the dishes was average.
