Modern Australian
Our love of the botanicals used in Vermouth led to naming our restaurant after the first English botanist to hit Australian shores. Sir Joseph Banks became the leading English authority on Australia & the botanical names he left behind are his legacy. Our food philosophy is based around the abundant Mediterranean table, where family and friends gather to enjoy a shared style meal. We believe every great meal should start with some snacks & an aperitif and of course our beverage of choice is Vermouth!

Banksii has to be my absolute favourite restaurant/bar in Sydney.

Every time I dine here the experience with food; wine; vermouth and staff is exceptional. I love taking my interstate and overseas visitors here and they also make it their favourite :)

On arrival our reception was lovely, staff were lovely, we were celebrating two birthdays and as we all were seated our lovely waiter Jeff bought over to the birthday boys a lovely box with a handwritten note saying happy birthday from the staff - inside were chocolates - very lovely

I have eaten here many times and recommended it to many people. The food is great and the service excellent. The staff really try to form a relationship with the diner. It is quite an unusual style of service that I enjoy

This was an evening dinner with friends. Everything was as it should be service was exceptional food delicious and of course the ambulance outstanding. I heartily recommend it for all occasions casual and formal!

It was my friend Erick’s 50th birthday! We had a great time and sincerely apologize for The 50th balloons annoying other diners. It was windy and we hadn’t accounted for that. Sorry if we were a bit loud laughing and enjoying ourselves. We all hadn’t been together for a long time, so loads to catch up on and celebrate!! Hopefully it added to your atmosphere!!
Erick dines there a lot and travels a lot globally so is an international diner but always says he loves Banksii!
Thanks so much to the staff for being so accommodating. We all loved it and will definitely recommend to all our friends... in fact we already have!!

Loved the relaxed atmosphere, and the helpful, knowledgeable, and attentive staff. The food was delicious - stand outs being the chicken pate, green risotto, and brisket. The pipis were a little chewy and fishy but the sauce they were in made up for it. We explored the extensive vermouth menu, but the dirty martini was the best we’ve ever had. Will definitely be back!

Food, drinks, service were all great! A little regret was the beef brisket which could have been better if the meat was more tender. The macadamia cream dip with toast was awesome! Great place by the waterfront, not difficult to get a table on a Friday night. Love the vermouth cocktails!

We had a great time at Banksii, our first visit. It was for our anniversary, we received a card and gift of petit fours! The food is great, the share mains are a good size for two, even three people. The starters are quite simple but the quality of the ingredients is what makes for a standout meal. The variety of vermouths is mind blowing (check out the wine list online before you visit for the first time) or take the advice of your waiter. I have a dietary issues which was fully addressed. Highly recommended!

This was my third time dining at Banksii and it was once again a very pleasant experience. We were looked after by the wonderful Julia, who was competent, efficient and always had a smile on her face - nothing was too much trouble. We actually had a few friends who cancelled on the dinner just before our reservation. We felt very sorry for the last minute change but Banksii was very understanding and made the adjustments straightaway. Thank you for a lovely evening; we'll definitely be recommending you!

Great Friday night dinner. Modern with warmth, fresh artisan style. Vermouth aperitifs were sensational. Very good helpful service. Really appreciate being moved to a pleasant seated bar area for dessert when our booking slot had finished. Barangaroo really has lived up to its promise. Only point to make is I'd love a tad more description with the menu, just because I like to know what goes in to make the dish work so well together.

After we sat down, the wait staff were lacking in attention. We had to wait a bit to get their attention and order our food. After the initial hiccup, it was all good. The atmosphere were nice but can be noisy. The food were phenomenal and good value of money. We love all our dishes but my friend and I loved the chicken pate. Honourable mentioned goes to the trout. I do wish we could have the table longer than 2 hours. This is the second time, I have been to Banksii. Definitely will recommend it to friends and family.
