Amazing service and incredible seafood!
Love the view of the river. I had lump crab and three kinds of oysters. Everything was fresh and delicious, our server, Andrew was knowledgeable and attentive, without being intrusive, a fine skill.
I was celebrating my birthday with my friends and the food was absolutely delicious. My friend had the Branzino and said it was the best she had ever tasted. The vanilla lemon lava cake was so good that I took the last two bites home because I was full but did not want to miss the last bite. Certainly plan on returning for another pleasant and tasty meal.
Everything was delicious. We each had an appetizer and they were all really good with one exception. The crab and artichoke dip was amazing but it was served with really hard, toasted bread. I had to ask for tortilla chips because the bread was cutting up the roof of my mouth. I thought it would’ve been served with pita bread or chips. They should seriously rethink the bread! Brooke was our waitress and she continuously kept coming back to check on us and refill our drinks. Our dinner came out in a timely manner. We never felt rushed to finished so they could seat someone else. I will definitely be coming back. The ambiance wasn’t bad either if you sat near the full length doors that overlooked the riverfront.
The food is always top notch
Service was excellent, food was great, drinks were delicious. Perfect way to celebrate my wife’s birthday with family.
The food wasn’t that great. Scallops was salty, brussel sprouts had no taste since we didn’t get the maple butter. The chairs were peeling and looked like they needed replacement. The service was okay. I will not be going back
The best gourmet meal I’ve had in a long time. Delicious!
New to area and starting to venture out into Wilmington. Selected this place for my birthday dinner with my husband. Food was excellent and Lena our server was very attentive. We ordered the roasted beets and fried oysters for starters. Both very well prepared. For mains we ordered the sea bass and surf and turf. Despite my hesitancy ordering a crab cake outside of my home state of Maryland I was not disappointed. Sides are a la cart.
There were no booths available in the restaurant so we opted for a rounded booth near the bar. The noise level was moderate for a Sunday night. Will definitely add this to our list.
Food was fine- appetizers are very expensive. Great presentation of main dishes.
Visited after the theatre, staff was friendly and service excellent. Crab cakes, oyster soup were very good. Mussels were nice but serving size a little small and broth was thin. frites were crisp, hot and tasty. Togarashi was so salty, almost inedible. Too bad, otherwise really enjoyed the restaurant
The place to go for seafood - the Lobster Salad is well worth the visit!
Great food and superb service. Oysters and clams casino were outstanding! Highly recommend for outside dining.
Our server was polite and efficient. Our late lunch was ok but nothing special. Two of us had mussels appetizer and were disappointed with the quantity based on other restaurants servings. Two others had tacos and thought they were good. We had to ask for bread and appropriate silverware for the mussels. Overall fine tuning is needed.
Great food, great service, wonderful ambience. Overall enjoyable experience.
Best outdoor seating and best seafood in DE !!
Everything was just fine. I'm picky, and I liked it all fine. Feels like a chain place. The river location and outdoor seating were a plus.
Food and drinks were great. Lena our waitress was excellent.
Service was extremely slow. Appetizers were forgotten about.
Always a dependable place for lunch. Particularly like the outdoor seating area. Favorite is the cobb salad (dressing on the side) with a glass of albarino.
Great atmosphere, delicious food and attentive staff!
This was my first time at the restaurant since rebranding from Harry's Seafood to Banks and the experience was outstanding. I went with the Scallops (and was attracted to that dish through one of the Chef's Tips videos on the restaurant website), which I found really creative and original in its composition and presentation. Flavors and textures were outstanding. My dining companion had the salmon which they also found to be wonderful. Service was impeccable, attentive and friendly and the overall experience was really a pleasure. I think I may have found my new go-to in the Wilmington/Delaware area.
Through many years of enjoying BANKS we've always had a great experience. Our visit on Sunday 10/3/21 changed all that. Our server was inattentive and often disappeared from the dining room. A manager finally realized that we had been abandoned and took our order. It didn't get any better. We will return though because of the excellent food and atmosphere. We really enjoy BANKS and you'll
see us again soon!!
Excellent food and service with a delightful location and very pleasant staff. I have recommended it to family and friends. I only wish the restaurant served a few omelet or other brunch items on Sundays. The outside seating and umbrellas were wonderful to enjoy on a warm Fall Sunday.
Not very good food
Had the fresh lobster it was not good at all
Everything we had was high-quality and very tasty. We started with mussels and with the Rainbow Tiradito from the raw bar menu. These were both very fresh and flavorful. I had the crabcakes for dinner and the meat was exceptional. In this area we are all familiar with high-quality crabcakes, but these are the best I’ve had in years. Our server was also very personable and helpful. We definitely need to visit Banks more often.
I had the whole baked bronzini and it was great. All meals were very good and the atmosphere on the outside patio was wonderful
Banks does not disappoint. It is our “go to” place for special occasions. The food was excellent. We consider Banks an upscale restaurant with special attention to details. On this night, we were a little disappointed in our service. Our server was friendly, but not quite as attentive as we were accustomed to. This did not affect our enjoyment of the evening or our meal.
Overall very pleased with both the food and the service. Tuna tartare appetizer was delicious and my wife really enjoyed the scallops. My Bronzino was good, but borderline fresh, tasting fishier than a fresh fish should. Maybe the saying is correct, "never order fish on a Tuesday".
Best restaurant on the river bank - always great experience in dining!
The food was excellent!
Service remarkable and the view was lovely.
Excellent food. Great service.
We were there for a birthday lunch. Excellent and responsiive service and the food was delicious! We sat outside with a pleasant water view. Love this place.
Be prepared to spend a little extra but it's well worth the price.
It started out with excellent service and I would have given it a 5 if the table had been cleared properly between courses.
The food was very good with the exception of the small piece of overcooked tile fish. I expected better from a $36.00 dish. My husband loved his very deeply fried soft shell crab, which I thought was a bit dry and also over cooked.
Simply our go-to place for fresh seafood and raw bar. Never disappoints.
Great friends’ get together after almost 2 years.
Thank you to the chef for accommodating our special request for grilled oysters.
Kelly, our server, was excellent!! She was great with recommendations, a nice attitude and overall great server.
We had a Pleasant lunch the food was good. I would go back again.
