Andrea was awesome
Kelly was our server, who was an exceptionally good server as well as pleasant!!!!! I have food allergies which can be a challenge, but not for Kelly or the chefs. Whenever we visit family in Westmont this is where we head on our free night. Their Lobster sandwich which is called a Knockle sandwich is delicious,
The Champaign dressing is oh so good as well a the crisp side salad. The gelato is absolutely divine both the butter pecan praline and the sea salt caramel. It is an enjoyable evening. Everyone is pleasant with many smiles coming your way.
Waiter was very good-very helpful.
Great for work meetings and for friends reunion. Service was excellent
The menu is very limited.
John was a great server and really knew the menu and offered excellent suggestions. Burrata and Steak Caprese was delicious and the appetizer special dip was out of this world!
I hate to say that this restaurant is a hidden gem but I have seen it a million times and never stopped. That said, I am so glad that I finally stopped in because the food was impeccable. All the staff was incredibly welcoming. Everyone who walked by had a smile on their face. Our waiter, John, was very informative and described menu items and a little bit about the restaurant. John's food descriptions matched exactly to what was brought to us. My two dining partners each had the peppercorn-crusted filet. They said the filet was tender and delicious. I had the pork bolognese on pappardelle pasta which was cooked to perfection and toothsome (definitely comfort food). We also ordered asparagus as a side for the table and you could taste the hickory from the grill. Dessert was an experience in itself. We had no idea the desserts were sharable and ordered three. The vanilla crème brûlée was one of the best I had ever tasted and should not be missed. We also ordered a double cream cheesecake topped with fresh fruit which was good but just not as good as the other two desserts. We also ordered the beignet-battered fried oreos. Trust me this is not like the fried oreos you can get at the state fair. These beautiful fried treats were pillows of goodness. Dinner and dessert were amazing and we will definitely be back to sample more items on the Bakersfield menu. Delicious!
Great place....the outside patio is amazing. The restaurant really encourages you to sit and relax and enjoy every part of your dining experience. Loved the service. Thank you for a great evening.
Noon business lunch. Causal dining, seated immediately, good food for value, prompt service.
Menu is limited Not many diners the evening we were there.
Too chilly. Server was very nice.
Nice, sleek yet casual. Had their burger every time and was good!
Great food ,service and ambiance. Especially nice for conversation
Prefer not to write a review. We were not as excited about our experience this time.
Wonderful food. Service was very good. It was a little cold in the restaurant so I would recommend a sweater.
Sat outside for first time - really nice (heaters, fire places). My wife had the pork chop and it was unfortunately a little dry. I had the Korean BBQ bowl and enjoyed it. The restaurant is very flexible, makes good drinks, and we always have a good time.
Food and service was fantastic.
Wine dinner with wines from Ridge Vineyards. Chef Patrick created unique entrees with excellent wine pairing. Duck Wellington, Fig and Apple Reduction, brown butter chanterelles paired with 2017 Geyserville was excellent.
We love this place! The food and staff are wonderful. This restaurant is managed properly. Beautiful decor; clean and orderly. Great food and terrific bartenders!
Food was good. Service always good. Wine excellent
We love Bakersfield and will return soon. Everything about it is well executed. Drinks, appetizers, entree and dessert were fantastic. Service was friendly and timely without being overdone. Our Mothers’ Day dinner was a hit. Thanks! Even the parking was free and easy. Why bother going into the city, when Bakersfield is so close? Great value!
Bakersfield is my favorite restaurant, especially for special occasions. I have never been disappointed! The food and service are awesome!
Had a great time! Good service good food, Irina was Amazing!
All three of us had issues with our food being cold or undercooked. My wife and I ordered the same dish and it looked very inconsistent from one plate to the other. Given this was at 9:30am for a Mother’s Day Brunch, I won’t be going back.
Went for brunch, it was delicious! I must say along with the food being delicious, our server absolutely made the experience for me. I’m a foodie and he really engaged with me on the food aspects of Bakersfield. He really enhanced the whole meal.
Excellent food and service
There were 3 of us and the other two people said there dinners were good. My salad (crispy chicken salad was tasteless. It was a good portion but it had no flavor. I had the dressing on the side but the chicken was tasteless and trying to put the salad dressing on it I thought would improve it but it didn't. I really like Bakersfield. I have been there several times and that's why we went back. You also changed the shrimp apetitizer and I was disappointed in that quantity. You now serve it completely different than whenever I have ordered it previously.
Had a great Easter dinner with friends. Service was awesome. One of my favorite spots on Ogden Ave.
Love the food and ambiance at Bakersfield. We went for Easter Brunch and sat outside and had just a wonderful experience. Everyone enjoyed their meal and it was a good value.
Bakersfield is one of my favorite restaurants, for all the reasons people like to eat out !
Very pleasant dining experience! Excellent service, and the food was exceptional!
Hosts were nice
Went in on a Friday night at 8:30, there were very few diners, sat for at least 10 minutes and nobody came over to help us so we left.
I visited on a surprisingly quiet Friday night. The menu is varied with a number of very good dishes, prepared nicely. My greatest disappointment was communication and the quality of our server.
As for communication - a customer would normally think that beers/cocktails available at the bar would be available at your table, but the menu and our server made no mention. So i was saddened when we were leaving, that the beer menu was much greater than imagined.
Our server (who was training another server), had some challenges answering some pretty basic menu questions. Additionally, and especially when it is not crowded and there a number of servers that are standing around and idle, don't turn and leave your back to your customers for long periods of time. It looks like you don't care and don't want to be there.
I had wine + a Bakersfield burger. It was okay. 1 friend had the salmon, and was very pleased. 2 other friends had the Gulf Coast Sandwich. and they thought it was okay.
A good place for a business lunch. The service was friendly & attentive without overbearing or intrusive. We all had burgers that were cooked as ordered & was yummy.
Really nice staff! Food is always nice and tasty. Loved the fried chicken. If you haven't tried this one it is a must.
They need to revamp their menu. Also, when you pay that much for food, they should give a bit more in portion size.
We've been here numerous times and enjoy the ambience. Our waiter was very congenial and attentive. The featured bottled wine, at a very good price, was quite nice. My husband and I both had the trout with crab and thought it was nicely prepared but not flavorful. The crab didn't add any flavor either. Perhaps a sauce could have pulled those together better. I'm a big fan of desserts and chocolate and eagerly ordered the Chocolate Duo. The Pot du Creme was OK, not the best I've had, but the flourless chocolate cake was nothing like what I expected and was, in fact, texturally unpleasant--watery, coarse, unusual. I would suggest avoiding it. My husband's Creme Brûlée was very nice with lots of fresh fruit on top. I will return because I like the restaurant, but order something else.
My son and I wanted to go somewhere nice for dinner so we went to Bakersfield. I had a burger ( very juicy and delicious) and he had the duck confit ( also very good) we had chips and guacamole for an appetizer and shared a market salad. My gin blossom cocktail was very tasty. All in all it was a nice night with good food and service.
Our server was exceptional, making sure we knew our options for food choices and then followed up and stayed connected. The food is always top notch too.
While food was good, the prices were high especially since most entrees do not come with a vegetable. Beyond burgers, the menu is somewhat limited. The crab stuffed whitefish was very good, and the fried chicken was very good. Service was a little mediocre and the white wine was warm
