Badmaash Downtown LA
What Insiders Are Saying
In a city without much in the way of unique Indian food, Badmaash is breaking the mold.
Always great, best Indian food in LA, maybe in the whole USA
Everything is a disguise.
Nothing is like what they have mentioned or seen in the internet.
It's a big NO NO.
Food tasted great!
Finally really good Indian food (from a Londoner).
I cannot recommend this place enough. I had the butter chicken. It was perfection! Our waitress was very pleasant and patiently took our order as she answered ALL of our questions. I was happy that I did Uber. Parking is not that great. But I will say the area is nice and walking a couple blocks near for parking can be quite pleasant.
The food was not that good for a change. It was probably due to the busy night but I am disappointed.
Went in for a work lunch with a large group. They were very accommodating and sat us quickly. We ordered the samomosas, chicken being the favorite of the two. Also, had the spicy lamb vindaloo, which packed a punch, Badass chicken tiki marsala, fish moliee, saag paneer and black lentils. The cheesy naan was tasty too. The flavors of these dishes took us a way. It was a huge hit and we will be back. Recommend dining with a group you can share with.
Food has gone down since the last time. I did not see any reason to go back after we really used to love this place.
Food was fabulous! Interesting and complex tastes!
All kinds of people enjoying great Indian food.
Artistic hip looking spot, but never felt trendy.
It was a great restaurant that was perfect for a small group of friends to share food with! The dishes are easily shareable and the food was fantastic! Loved the fusion options as well as the traditional Indian options. Chicken Tikka poutine was BOMB.
no the food was quite poor for indian and the ambiance was horribly noisy
Great food! Out waiter was awesome! Wish we lived near so we could eat here again!
Thank you for the excellent service. Loved the food and thanks for the ice cream sandwich.
one of my absolute favorite places to eat!! so delicious every single time.
took my visiting parents and the staff and kitchen SMASHED (lol) all expectations
The best Indian food I've ever had , the service is good but the noise is deafening and keep you from having serious conversation ! If you go there for the food you'll be very happy ! If you go there for conversation .... go somewhere else !
Excellent butter chicken...great service! Highly recommended place to dine!
Small, hip space with excellently executed dishes. I'm now a regular. Get a reservation, especially on the weekend.
Amazing food and great service! Never disappointed when I come here. Recommend for authentic Indian cuisine with another side to the menu for a different take on traditional
Badmash was a refreshing change to the Indian cuisine scenario in LA. The menu was simple but the food was really good and tasty. The ambience was like being in an up market dhaba. The servers were polite and knew the menu well.
Overall a good experience and definitely recommend travellers hungry fro authentic Indian Dhaba food.
It was so good that we went back again in less than a week! Don’t skip the samosas!
Great wine, food, chai, and excellent service! They sometimes bring a complimentary treat or lassi to your table which we haven’t ever experienced in LA so it really makes us feel welcome and special! It was our 3rd time there and were definitely coming back! They have veggie options which we love too.
Loved the menu options and local beer list. Visiting from east coast and needed some tasty bites in Downtown LA. Hit the spot. Nice staff too.
We went for dinner before going to nearby club. We arrived on time for our reservation and were seated promptly. Place was packed. Server was super friendly and recommended the perfect beer to go with our food. The tikka masala poutine was amazing. Fun place.
Dishes that were cold were requested to be reheated. This request was not taken well nor obliged politely. The waitress couldn’t wait to get rid of us. No spoons with food. No knives. Just a lot of basic elements of service missing.
Lovely place. Delicious food. Parking a problem. 5/5
Buen restaurante en el downtown de LA. Ambiente desenfadado. La comida muy rica.
Food tastes fresh and delicious! The dahi poori is my favorite!
Always make rez Place is small but Killer
Non-traditional with the old school. Nice mix of dishes. Great loft space
Parking can be tuff
growing up watching bollywood movies and living in a ghetto neighborhood made me love this place because they really focus on indian street food. This place hit home being i was in california and i am from new jersey. the owners seriously knew what they were doing. Samosas were fantastic so was the butter chicken. Service was awesome! Only thing i wish the pouhri was warmer.
Food is great here. Service is attentive but the waiter we had was a bit pushy...but attentive nonetheless. They really need to work on the acoustics in the restaurant or turn down the music...it may look good inside (and we love the projection of the old Indian movies) but when you're yelling to the person across the table from you, it weakens the overall dining experience.
Been wanting to check it out since hearing the brother's stories on NPR. Did not disappoint. Everyone enjoyed the entrees we ordered and they even brought a celebration birthday dessert. Parking kinda sucks, though.........
We loved our experience. Food was great ( Dahl poori, better chicken, saag paneer and naan), service was great and expedient! Dessert- mango mouse was delicious! Highly recommend it!
First time I’ve tried Indian food. Loved it! The atmosphere was great. Loved the music.
Always a treat. Samosas, Badass Chicken, Butter Chicken, Sag Paneer and yogurt puffs were all super tasty. Service was on point, not rushed or slacking.
Food was excellent and service was exceptional.Parking was very difficult.First time eating here.Pleasant experience and will definitely return.
One of the best casual spots in downtown. These guys are a well-oiled machine. Food comes out swiftly, piping hot. Pickles are a tower of rainbow colored vegetables, the poutine is beautifully decadent, great samosas. Save some room for dessert.
Very good food,
Chat papi was tasty.
Mango Mousse was very tasty.
Need more Vegetarian items on the Menu for sure.
So many choices but the wait staff explains it all, makes suggestions based on your tastes
First the puffs & samosas, then butter chicken, saag , dal + naan & rosemary.
Both naans came out hot & a little crunchy around the edges- best ever.
All great but will be more adventurous next time because you can trust staffs recs.
