I’ve been coming here for a while and every time the food is amazing. The menu had changed a little since the last time I was here so my husband and I ordered some of the new items. The squash blossoms and the bone marrow for starters, both dishes left us wanting more, they were so good. For the entrees we ordered the Toron Baco (my favorite) and the grilled octopus with a side of the cauliflower, everything was amazing - this place never disappoints!
“Torn pasta” in a pork sauce that was terrible. Terribly overpriced. I could go on but I won’t...
The food was not good
Special place, very unique
We had such good food & the waiter made it a fun experience. The wine list is very unusual & some tastes were a little strange for me but these people are adventurous. The food was amazing--we had flatbreads, starters & mains--glad we had 4 people so we could try so many dishes. It's cute, to too big & these people really cook!! I'd go back in heartbeat.
Very delicious and beautifully served food, a lot of attention from waitresses, cozy atmosphere. Recommend this place to everyone!
First time there and the food was better than expected! The oxtail had so much flavor and the beet salad was really good.
Wonderful as usual! This was our second visit here and the food was fantastic. Will definitely be back.
The pork shoulder was delicious and the peaches with kumquats so tasty. Honestly, every dish we got was nuanced and highly enjoyable. The mango habanero shrub (kind of like kombucha) was very refreshing. Can't wait to go back to try the items we weren't able to try this time.
Everything was great
The food was great! Usually at these small places only one or two of the dishes taste great. Here everything tasted delicious. The staff was very accommodating as well. I will definitely come back!
Delicious food, wonderful service! Would definitely come back when next in LA!
food was refreshing; different from what most of la offers and i appreciated that a lot; those ricotta fritters were amazing
Travis was a great server. The atmosphere was good, the food was outstanding and there were many side dishes to share. I loved the branzino, pasta and cauliflower. Can’t wait to return,
It is one of those hip places that have popped up in those downtown factories/warehouses. The surroundings have been improving as the city is revamping its downtown. Parking on the street is reasonably easy to find.
As expected, the ambiance is rustic and pleasant. The service is friendly.
My colleague and I each ordered a sandwich and we shared them. They were absolutely delicious. One can tell the ingredients were high quality and fresh. The cooking itself was perfect as well. With that, of course, comes the price. It's a bit on the pricey side for the portion. For us, it was perfectly fine because we're older guys and don't need a big portion. Because the food is delicious it more than satisfies the hunger.
This place used to be great. Food was SO disappointing. Everything, even the veggie dishes, was dry.
The food was good and the layout of the restaurant is nice.
Service was poor. Our server took our order and delivered our food but he never checked on us over the span of an hour.
A busser came and cleared the dishes. I had to flag down another server to ask for the check.
It was fantastic! Our server was great, the food was amazing- bursting with flavors and the Macho nacho margarita is to die for. Literally stumbled on this place by accident and will be going back as often as I can. It is truly that good!
Mini vacation in L.A., stayed downtown and this restaurant was walking distance. Have been to sister restaurant Bar AMA previously and enjoyed that too. 3 of us, $170 approximately including tip. We probably should have ordered one less or one smaller item. We enjoyed all food & cocktails. Cocktails $15 but generous. Recommend.
I am in love with this restaurant! The food is amazing!!!!
One of the best meals I’ve ever had! We came for a birthday dinner and ordered the Brussels sprout Caesar salad, caramelized cauliflower, and el pesce baco. Definitely coming back!
Food , service, comfortable ambiance made lunch delightful. Will return next for dinner.
The small plates at this place are great. I've only eaten bruch here. We will be back.
Place is great. Nice vibe, interesting food and cool ambience.
The food was excellent and so was the service. Very unique dishes and cocktails with lots of flavors. The ambiance is great and works for something both formal and casual. One of the oddities is that happy hour is only available at the bar and outside on the patio. The biggest reason for 4 stars instead of 5 though is the value. Even though the food and drinks were great, for the portions I found it to be overpriced. Evenso, I would recommend it. Just be warned that you'll spend more than you think.
An explosion of flavors. Great combination of Spanish, Turkish and Arabic cuisine into eclectic courses that bmw your taste buds.
It was so delicious. I had the bone marrow! Devine!
There should be a quality rating for noise. It was low and that was good. We avoid high noise. It's not "energy" to us. You should review noise level.
We had a wonderful meal, and we could have a conversation.
The food was excellent! We split the hamachi collar which was absolutely delicious. Added two small plate sides which were equally delish and not small at all. The restaurant is “intimate” and space was tight, but not obnoxiously so. Our server was great... attentive and checked on us throughout the dinner. A small thing, but my partner and I are partial to gin martinis and the choice of gins is pretty limited. We’ll be back again!
Five of us enjoyed a shared plates dinner; only complaint was the din-like noise. Food excellent and original.
We shared many dishes and they were all terrific. Very interesting combinations that tasted great. We had the stuffed blossoms, ricotta fritters, and caramelized cauliflower. We also had the skirt steak which was tender and well seasoned. The Turkish Love flat bread was outstanding. The albacore tuna was well prepared and the special lamb riblets were a bit spicy and also delicious. The flourless chocolate cake and ice cream sundae were both solid but not as interesting as the other dishes.
Best friend came to visit from Dubai he loved it so much!!! Thank u
Wonderful and original food. Highly recommend this place.
Great experience yet again
We arrived right when they opened for dinner and food came out quickly. We have been to Baco Mercat several times and this time did not disappoint! We ordered a lamp special, a flat bread, and two appetizers and had enough to take home. Food was delicious. As the restaurant became more crowded, it seemed they may have been a bit short staffed for a Friday night but it was still an overall great experience.
Personable, but not pushy service, great food. One of our favorites, can't wait to come back!
Baco is our favorite restaurant and we love Miguel. Only issue this time around was the portion for the Hamachi seemed small.
Excellent food - definitely some inventive flavor combinations you won't find anywhere else in LA. Habitual diner at this restaurant, and 10/10 would go again. Just be ready for a lively atmosphere (inside, at least!).
Nobody can do veggies like Baco Mercat! We tried five different plates and loved them all. The octopus and the skirt steak were perfect, as well.
