Good food. Nice service
I took friends who were stuck for two days and nights at Newark airport due to airline cancellations for which United it did absolutely nothing for them Including no baggage- they finally got a place to sleep and at HoJoe’s at the end of the world so coming to the aviation grill for lunch was quite welcome. I was surprised that the service was a little bit slow for being an airport based hotel but I was also extremely disappointed to be charged $21 in the parking lot for an hour and a half lunch -there was no indication that there was a way to Stamp my ticket so it’s a little embarrassing as I was treating friends who are already stressed with no luggage in their 80s and stuck in the bowels of the north terminal neighborhood. of North terminal with no way to get around. The food was quite good though.
Excellent food and generous portions; wonderful service....a great place in the airport grounds that stays open late.
Needed to meet someone for a private meeting. Taylor was very helpful both in preparation and meeting her in person.

We met our here when he had a brief layover at Newark while traveling from Barcelona back to Seattle where he now lives. He did not have a lot of time so we opted to stay close to the airport. We actually had a very pleasant lunch - the service was great and the food was better than we expected. Think burgers and flat breads. Overall, for an airport hotel, it was much better than we thought. Would definitely recommend for a situation like ours where you have limited time and need to be close to the airport.
This is a very convenient place to grab a bit to eat if you're staying at the hotel. I'd avoid the flat bread with the sun dried tomatoes. The tomatoes were had and bitter. The salmon and the lobster bisque were fair.
Pricey but that is to be expected since it is in the hotel within walking distance of the airport, which was very convenient. Our waiter was great, and the portions were good sized, and the food was good.
We were given a discount card to use for parking, but it didn't work. Had to pay $14.00 to eat there.
Upon arrival I mentioned to the hostess that I had an Open Table reservation. The hostess did not even know what Open Table was. She had to get the manager. The manager told me that they didn't open the app. I did not feel valued and respected. I felt profiled and as if I didn't belong there. Then the manager tried to sit me in a table in the front among heavy traffic volume. I refused and looked at her like she was crazy. She then took me to the back where I am accustomed to sitting. I was given a comp Lobster brisk soup for my trouble as it was an upgrade. I was so confused that a restaurant in a Marriott hotel operated this poorly. I cancelled my other reservation for Jan 1st
Enjoyed dinner at the Aviation Grill very much. Service by Valentine was exceptional. App and dinner choices were excellent. Salmon entree and Strip Steak entree were cooked as expected. No complaints at all. Will return again.
