Great food drinks and atmosphere we are definitely planning to go back
I usually have a nice time and good service but on this Particular evening the service was horrible. I had to tell the hostess/manager several times about wait for our apps and entree. The waiter actually stated that our entrees went over his head 45 mins after writing down our order. This dude needs to be fired.
I had the steak special - $20 for a steak plus two sides. I had the filet mignon, cooked "medium rare" to perfection. A 7-oz portion was just right. I had the roasted brussels sprouts and garlic mashed potatoes - both very tasty, although the mashed potatoes were perhaps a tad too watery. Service was very good, although I had to ask for the potatoes after the rest of the meal was served. But those are pretty minor quibbles.
I am very eager for the return of live music, especially the gypsy jazz jam session.
Great atmosphere! Servers were great
And staff was as well
This was my first time visiting.. and I really enjoyed myself with my daughter during brunch!!! We are definitely going back soon
Came here for brunch for my birthday. Me and my friends loved it! Great vibe, great music, great sangria and amazing food.
Great food! the fried chicken here is freakin delicious!
Took my friends who have never been here and Avenue did not disappoint! Everything was delicious and the service was fast and polite. Ill keep coming back and keep bringing my friends!
Bisque, sides, drinks and dessert were delicious but the crabcake was a little over spiced. There was a very loud group in the alcove behind us. We made the best of it and would probably give it another chance.
Everything was good ,friendly staff and good food
So happy our favorite spot in Hampden is back open.
We love it here. The service, food and atmosphere are all perfect every time.
Service was very slow. We had to ask for a server to come to the table, after sitting for 20 min
The steak dinner is an experience you need to have.
Never tried this place, but been back twice in two weeks! Staff is inviting and attentive, food is incredible, and the drinks are on point! (Never change how you guys pour! )
Our brunch was wonderful. Our server and staff were very attentive.
The food was as good as it has always been! Prep, plating, and taste was superb! Service on the other hand was terrible. I feel as tho our server had either just started or they were understaffed and had to use a table busier to wait tables for the first time. He forgot our drinks (from the bar), forgot to put in for our appetizer that we ordered, and never came back to ask if we wanted additional drinks from the bar (which we did). The drinks were also amazing, but we never got around to ordering a new round because we were never given the opportunity. Typically I would let things like this go and chalk it up to an off night for service on the venues behalf...but my problem is that due to COVID-19 I understand gratuity has to be included...but in this case our server did not deserve what he received from us. We never complained, but we did make slight mention to him in where he went wrong and he knew and apologized but we were forced to give a gratuity that seemed to be less than deserving. It’s almost as if because it’s a required addition that they don’t care what the level of service looks like. And let’s keep in mind we had a hefty bill (but the food and drinks are worth it anyway) but lack luster service, which tends to ruin the experience for most. I will return in the future, but I will pray for better service or at least speak up on my next visit.
The waiter was great ... energetic and knew the menu ..
Drinks were really good as was the food. Nice atmosphere for Saturday night drinks .
They were out of Rye whiskey for our Manhattans. They couldn’t broil our crab cakes, because they don’t have a broiler. The margarita I ordered was so overly sweet and sugary, like a grocery store mix. Their ribs were $45 for a rack. They also had 8 pieces of fried chicken for $50. Way over priced. Ordered a half rack of ribs for $25, they were dry.
The vents above our table and the other tables in the bar were all Partially falling out of the ceiling and hanging down above our heads. Looking as if they would fall on top of us at any minute.
The bar looks like it hasn’t received any love over the years. Both the bar and the tables surrounding the bar are all beat up and in need of replacement or renovation. The table we were sitting at had a patio umbrella hole drilled out in the center. Why woukd a table inside the bar need that?
Our service was terrible. After waiting 10 to 15 minutes for service, we had to wait another 15 minutes for the first round of drinks to arrive. Almost a half an hour had gone by before we had gotten our drink order.
The wait for our meal was also a long endeavor. About 45 minutes. The server did not routinely stop by to check on us, to see if we needed Drink refills, or inquire as to how our meal was.
One last point of note, they have very little liquor stocked. They only had one bottle of bourbon in the entire bar. And it was Bullet. No other bourbon was available to order. Their selection was sad and sparse. As I previously mentioned, they didn’t even have rye whiskey for their Manhattan’s.
Overpriced, understaffed, poor service, never again.
We sat at an outdoor high top table. There was more than enough space between tables. They also have tented seating in the street. We were promptly greeted and we ordered our drinks. After the drinks were served we ordered food. The food was good. Everything that was being served to other tables looked delicious. All in all, we had a great time. People also chose to sit downstairs. There were a few tables and people sitting at the bar. I’ll definitely return.
Nice atmosphere. Good food. Friendly courteous service.
Everything was very good and they had the tables inside socially distant from one another.
The food was great but service was off for the outdoor seating, even though it wasn't that busy. My wife and I definitely would have bought a few more cocktails if given the opportunity. Brought the food with no silverware, had to wait to get the servers attention again. It might have just been an off night for the server or kitchen so I would give it another shot.
Was a little a cold cold. But the food was amazing !!! Drinks and wine list were simplified since last time we were there but still enjoyable.
Overcharged for wine and didn’t tell us covid gratuity was in bill and of course I tipped again. Shrimp tacos terrible.
I low rated the service because it took a while for a waiter to come to our table after we had been seated. Other people arrived after us and received service before us. Then we had an issue when the bill arrived. Overall the food was great though.
All of our food was really good. The mimosas were great i just wish that when you order the bottomless, they should just automatically give you a pitcher so you don’t have to keep asking for refills.
I ordered the corn, Brussels and crab cakes. The food was okay, needed more seasoning. I did not care for the brussels and I am a brussel fanatic but the brussels were a little to hard for me and did not have a usual salt/sweet taste like I am used too. The corn on the cob stuck to me teeth. I twas very chewy and lot like the crisp corn that you usually just bit of the cob. The crab cakes were delicious. They were full of meat and seasoned well.
Good experience...everyone was nice
Neither the food nor the service were very good. Also, I have never had the gratuity added to a check for a table of just two people! No way I would have tipped that amount for the experience we had...very frustrating.
The food was really on point. Great steak, scallops cooked perfectly and they had a Chilean Sea Bass special that was out of this world ! Can’t wait to go back
It just wasn’t a good night for them.
Everything was GREAT! We will be returning. I want to try everything on the menu.
The food and service were amazing! Thank you Avenue for excelling at fining during this time!
The Steak was awesome. Cooked perfectly medium. I would have just skipped the steak sauce, since I like to appreciate the true flavor of the meat. My wife had the chicken and waffles. Top notch. The waffle was great even with the Chipotle syrup. The Brussel sprouts were amazing. This was my second time having the. And the main reason we decided to visit again. The grapefruit crush was fantastic. Along with the Prickly Pear margarita. My wife and I will definitely be back.
We had a 7:30 reservation for 4 and we were seated promptly. 30 minutes later we were still sitting there with our ice waters with absolutely no service whatsoever. No drink orders even taken. Completely ignored. Walked out. We are trying hard to try to keep our local neighborhood joints in business but maybe this one isn’t worth saving. Very disappointing Saturday night out.
In the era of Covid 19, we had a covered table in the street! No worries, the great food more than made up for the setting. Best grilled octopus dish ever, and who knew I loved quinoa! My dining partners really enjoyed their burger & fried chicken. Old school fried chicken was a huge portion with choice of sides. Desserts of key lime tart and their version of strawberry shortcake were awesome.
Had a great time at brunch! Music was great and the smoked wings were amazing!!
Food was amazing. Nice outdoor seating. Social distancing/mask policy observed well. Brian, our server was honest about how they had ran out of dessert that was on the restaurant week menu but offered me options for a substitute. Brian was great with service even though they were very busy.
