Augustine Inn Seafood & Chop House

We were asked if we would like to sit on the porch where it is warm. It was not! The electric heater near our table would turn on and off.
We sat there for 25 minutes before my daughter got up to ask for service. I waited an additional 20 minutes to get my cocktail.
The restaurant was not very busy with several staff hanging around the bar area.
Our appetizer order went smoothly. My wife’s entree came to table 10 minutes before the rest of us received ours.
This is our third time at Augustine’s. While the food has been very good, the service has each time been quite poor. I don’t mind paying their premium prices because the food is good but it may not be worth the annoyance of being treated poorly.

The Sunday Brunch offers a variety of breakfast and lunch entrees. We have ordered the Eggs Benedict every time we are there because they are delicious. They offer a variety of Benedicts all of which have a wonderful Hollandaise sauce on them.
We've never been disappointed in our meals, service and ambiance. We will be back.

Delicious from start to finish! Wonderful service, wonderful atmosphere, wonderful food. We enjoyed celebrating our anniversary and look forward to our next visit!

They got it right on Valentine’s Day. The food, the service and the timing were perfect. When a restaurant cares about you they make the meal flow. The only change on the menu was the gnocchi has been replaced by angel hair with the eggplant. The bread pudding was awesome. The wine by the glass is served at the right temperature! Home run!

This was our first visit to Augustine Inn and it won’t be our last. Oddly enough, my wife used to sing here decades ago when this was what would be called a ‘biker bar’.
Needless to say, it’s changed much since those days. There’s a nice historic and rustic feel and our view from the front deck was overlooking the DE river. Beautiful, sans the nuke plant cooling tower, but overall a nice view.
Regarding the food and the service, it was top notch. Servers and wait staff were kind and attentive and the food, a four course Valentine’s menu, was very delicious. The small added touch of a couple of chocolate-dipped strawberries was appreciated.
The cost was higher than we’re used to, but this was a special day and a special place and the quality of everything justified the price, in my opinion. Augustine Inn is not fast food not chain food and they do what they do very well.
We will definitely be visiting again in the future.

We went for Valentines Day and it was a great overall experience. Only issue was my wife’s steak wasn’t cooked appropriately but they fixed that really quick and covered her meal for any inconvenience. Great overall experience and would definitely recommend to others.

When for Valentine’s Day for our first visit. Had a reservation and were seated promptly and were told then we had a 90 minute time frame which wasn’t an issue but I would have like to know ahead of time. We were seated in the porch area which was enclosed for winter but it was a little cold there. Ordered our meals and didn’t wit long before appetizers arrived followed timely by diner. Food was very good and nice size portions. Will be returning

Service and ambiance was good. Everyone in our party liked their food. I think the value is not quite there yet though. Its not cheap, so I expect next level flavors. I had the lamb chops and while good, but in my opinion, not 'special'. Time to think more outside the box.

We ended up getting sat right next to the speakers of the duo that was playing that evening. It made it very hard to keep a conversation. The service was a bit slow. The food was good, but the drinks were just ok. I wouldn’t not recommend eating here, but it’s not on the top of my list.

Great food. Nice ambience, especially if you like the historic type setting. That building is mind blowing which made the experience even better. Service was good & the filet was the best I’ve had anywhere in a very long time.

As in the past, we were delighted with the Augustine Inn. The Eggs Benedict were delicious and our server, Jenna H., was wonderful. The Hollandaise sauce was to die for. Even though it was dreary outside, the Augustine Inn was a comfy and cozy.

Food was excellent and we love the view and ambience of the old Victorian house.

Can't wait to return! Everything about the experience was pleasant. It was a Sunday evening and not very busy.

Hubby’s birthday dinner. Oysters, prime rib egg rolls, Wedge Salads to start. Scallops, Pork Chop & Filet for main. Chocolate Cake & Creme Brûlée for desserts. Start to finish, everything was outstanding.

Always a great meal. A tad loud with music and tv playing football game. I never saw the tv but kept hearing a whistle. Lol. You can’t go wrong with any meal. Great food. Great service.

Great food. If you are looking for a quiet diner ask to not sit next to the bar.

Good food, nice atmosphere, the macaroni and cheese lobster was just not good but the blackened scallops and coconut shrimp were delicious 😋

Food was super good and I was happy for the restaurant to see so many people dining.
My only reluctance to go more often is that when you order a straight pour of alcohol, you are automatically given a "double" and charged accordingly without warning. We have been a few different times, with different servers with this happening, so I assume it's the norm.

We've never had a bad meal here. Steak, fish, chicken ... had most of the menu. Always an enjoyable meal. Recommended.

I think they make the best Salmon dish that I have ever had. The steaks are really great too! I highly recommend this place.

Always excellent service all around with top quality food. The entire wait staff and bartenders are always friendly, engaging, and on top their game.

Everyone that was working was so friendly and food was tasty! My friends and I will definitely be back!
