Aubergine is an intimate space, with high ceilings, beautiful lights and simple, elegant decor which allows the product of creative and interesting food to shine. The food style is contemporary, however there is always a classic background to our ideas. The kitchen is supplied by local farmers and benchmark suppliers that understand that rather than we tell them what we need we prefer for them to tell us what produce is at its best on the day. In turn that means that our menu is updated daily. Our wine list has won numerous awards and has over 500 labels of interesting and classic wines. It shows the same philosophy of using local and smaller growers that produce interesting wines for us to get excited about.

Aubergine Ratings and Reviews
Perfect in every way. Exquisite food backed up with faultless, friendly and professional service delivered by people who really appear to love their work.
The 'compulsory ' first course featuring cured albacore was judged by all in our party of 5 as possibly the best dish ever. Between us we were lucky enough to taste nearly everything on the menu and there were no chinks in the armour .
The matching wines were exactly thst and delivered by a Sommelier who really knows his stuff.
We traveled down from the Gold Coast for the occasion and would definitely love to return when back in Canberra.
The food was amazing, the canapés as the starters were incredible so much flavour. Great value for money for 4 quality courses, our waiter was very knowledgeable with the wine list and the ingredients in each dish even telling us what area the ingredients were from he chose a wonderful wine for us that was very well priced. The venue is small and intimate which is great for a couple to have a nice meal together as a rare date.
Wow Wow Wow!! What a spectacular dining experience. The restaurant has a very intimate setting with perfect space between the tables so you feel like you are having your own private dinner. The service was impeccable, the food was divine and the selection of matching wines was an absolute treat. Thank you to everyone for making my birthday dinner so memorable. We look forward to dining with you again. Just Fabulous!! Cheers! Francene
It is a location for fine dinning. We did degustation 5 course. Every course was delious. It is big plates little food place and every mouthful is interesting and full of flavour. I tried some food for the first time. The wine list is massive with local options.
We were well looked after.
Good food and service but unfortunately your forced to select a four course dinner option. Recommend aubergine allow customers to choose how much and what courses they want rather than a $90 minimum spend on Friday nights. While food an service is good, I don't think it's worth the spend. For two people with a bottle of wine and pre/post dinner drinks it cost $350.
We celebrated the sale of our home with a dinner at Aubergine. We treated to an evening of wonderful food, great wine and unparalleled service. Each meal was well balanced, driven by flavour. Service is intuitive, friendly and professional. The sommelier and wine selection is outstanding and a key feature. We can't wait for our next visit.
Our evening was a most enjoyable experience, as we eat out so rarely at this level. The food was amazing, but the choice of dishes was sometimes a compromise between the main ingredient and the accompanying vegetable and sauces. For example, we were nervous about the possible affects of Jerusalem artichokes and lentils, which came with the steak, and so opted for something else. In hindsight, we would have been fine with the steak. My wife found her silver dory the least enjoyable part of the meal. My lamb was faultless.
It would have been nice to have come away with a printed list of the wines we were served rather than having to rely on memory and a scribbled note. They were delicious and well chosen for us. The service was absolutely first class.
