Aubergine is an intimate space, with high ceilings, beautiful lights and simple, elegant decor which allows the product of creative and interesting food to shine. The food style is contemporary, however there is always a classic background to our ideas. The kitchen is supplied by local farmers and benchmark suppliers that understand that rather than we tell them what we need we prefer for them to tell us what produce is at its best on the day. In turn that means that our menu is updated daily. Our wine list has won numerous awards and has over 500 labels of interesting and classic wines. It shows the same philosophy of using local and smaller growers that produce interesting wines for us to get excited about.

Aubergine Ratings and Reviews
Aubergine is a culinary gem tucked in a small parade of shops in the Canberra suburb of Griffith. The staff are polite yet friendly and extremely professional. The ambiance is surprisingly intimate despite high ceilings.
The meal is a mandatory 4 courses with choices of entrée, main and dessert but a fixed chef's starter. There is also an accompanying wine course.
There are Japanese influences throughout the menu. The lamb is to die for. The capsicum sorbet is adventurous.
Excellent restaurant well deserving of it's "two chef hats".
Service has been without peer in Canberra. Attentive, polite, professional and not missing a beat throughout the meal service. Meals were well presented, enjoyable and had a lovely ambience for a special occasion or romantic rendezvous. The sommelier and waiters well versed in the extensive wine-list with a notable selection of French wines available by the glass.
If only the view could be improved. This place deserves a waterfront!
The service is perfect. The staff know their craft and are friendly, attentive and perform their job with an effortless grace.
The food is to die for and will redefine your definition of the word exquisite. Go the extra expense and have the wine expert match your dishes with the most gorgeous wine you have ever tasted...trust me you won't be able to choose as well as he can!
A group of friends have been going out for dinner regularly for about 7 years. This was by far the most expensive meal we have had and although the food was very good I was disappointed by the service. A number of times our meals where mixed up and one was delayed. A number of times when I tried to call attention of a waiter, only a metre away from me, I was ignored. When I asked for something to be rectified it was not, despite the first class price. I felt this attitude was poor.
Range of menu choices, quality of food, preparation and presentation were simply outstanding. There were four of us and our menu choices ranged across sirloin, duck, pork belly and fish, with a wonderful dessert selection. Having opted for the premium wine matching selection, we were not disappointed, the premium wines were all amazing and the food matches were superb. Service was excellent, attentive, very well informed and perfectly timed. Upper end of the price range but very well worth it
The food was fabulous and the service excellent. The Chef and his staff prepared a wonderful meal for me and with my particular dietary intolerances it was a challenge. I am hesitant about dining out because I have trouble finding something that I can eat but the staff called me to discuss my dietary requirements and prepared suitable dishes. This is the first time that I did not feel as though I was a nuisance or that I was missing out; I was just like all the other diners. Thank you.
