Best meal we had in NY. Fusilli Napolitana, Fruitti de Mar special, both with homemade pasta and excellent quality ingredients, were just superb. We live in San Francisco.
Chose this restaurant for Thanksgiving dinner and was not disappointed. Food, service and experience was perfect.
Great food and service. Making this our go to local restaurant.
We took two granddaughters to lunch before a matinee. There were good menu choices for everyone: pizza, pasta, fish, meat. Good choice of wines by the glass. Terrific desserts. Service was fast and friendly. We will definitely be back!
My husband and I went for dinner based on high score recommendations and ordered a pear salad, pasta, and risotto. The salad was delicious but had almost no blue cheese. The risotto was okay but too dry, and the pasta had no flavor and came with just 2 shrimp and a tiny bit of crab meat. The staff were attentive, but there was really nothing they could do about the food. We were very disappointed, as we spent a lot but did not enjoy our meal there.
Was looking for a nice quiet restaurant with very good food. Hit on both requirements. Service and attention were fabulous. I will definitely be back again. A hidden gem.
A very pleasant meal. Everything was well prepared and nicely presented, although flavors didn’t knock our socks off. The chocolate soufflé for dessert was a standout, however.
Great food and service
Went for lunch and had a good experience. Place was kinda empty ahead of Friday happy hour but food was good and service was good as well.
Excellent low key service and very good mid- and southern-Italian food. We had a group of ten and the restaurant offered us an interesting and well-priced menu with three choices of each course- it made the experience easy and delicious. Good simple wine list.
Staff was fantastic, food was great! As an Italian I’m picky and it’s hard to find good Italian cuisine. They outdid it, their marinara sauce was amazing! I would return again!
Had dinner here - arrived 15 minutes early and were still able to be seated. Host was very hospitable. The staff were very attentive and helpful. The food was great - my husband had the spaghetti and meatballs and I had the fresh pasta with ragu of lamb. I only wish they had put more lamb in my dish but the flavor of the dish was great and the fresh pasta fantastic.
The service was fast but we never were rushed. The food was great and the prices are fair.
Very good service, delicious food, and reasonable prices
Great service and good food at reasonable prices
Love this restaurant! Great menu, welcoming staff, outstanding food and service. Had the Pear Salad and Chicken Parmesan—both fresh and perfectly prepared as always. Checks all the boxes—highly recommend.
Small portions for the price.
Recommended by concierge of The Douglas. Great food and value. Small but intimate. I rarely write reviews but wanted to thank the staff for a great evening. Took a great picture with the chef!
Best Eggplant and Chicken Parm we have ever had! Everyone's food was fantastic. Great neighborhood place. Only suggestion would be to order appetizers and then wait to order dinner. Food came out super fast. Will definitely return!!
Great neighborhood find!
Great dining experience! Cozy, yet small, so reservations were a must. Close to theaters without being in the bustle. Amazing food and drinks with a very friendly and knowledgeable server.
It's close to Carnegie Hall, which is why we chose it. The food was mediocre. The only thing I could recommend was the calamari appetizer. Everything else (pasta vongole, shrimp scampi, and eggplant parmigiana) was edible, but not much more than that.
This is a charming restaurant. Service was excellent. Ambience was wonderful. My friend and I were able to have a conversation without shouting. Our food was tasty and well-prepared. The pear salad was dressed just right, calamari was light, crispy and fresh. The chicken parm was great as was the seafood capellini dish. We were too full for dessert as the portions were very generous. Will definitely be back.
One of the best dining experiences ever. Food was exceptional. Chicken aroma outstanding. Service was excellent.
Great food and service.
Large family group in whilst we were there but did not impact on the service to us
Beautiful place with the most outstanding and attentive staff and owner that make every meal here a special occasion for me and my girlfriend.
The food was very good and all of the staff were friendly.
The food here is superb. It appears to be just a small Italian/pizza place, but the meal I had was equal to that in high price restaurants. I had the pasta with lamb Ragu and cleaned the plate. I also had prosciutto and melon which was excellent. This is not a high class place for power business meals or celebrating special events, but an everyday eatery with far greater than everyday food. The price range is beyond reasonable. The lamb ragu was $22. It was worth at least $35.
This is one of our very favorite restaurants in NYC. We live here and we bring all of our friends and relatives.
A new player on the pre and post theater scene. Excellent Italian food in a neighborhood where that's not so common.
muy rica toda la comida, lindo el lugar muy agradable. La atención excelente y había un saxofonista muy bueno tocando música. Una espléndida cena , muy recomendable.
We were excited for
This is my new favorite Italian restaurant in this neighborhood! I love how easy it is to make a reservation, and I actually went here two Friday nights in a row. The first time, we didn't have a reservation but were able to walk-in since there were free tables, and the second time, we made a res on OpenTable.
First off, the service is great. They pull out your chairs for you, and when one of our friends didn't arrive for until 30 minutes in, they kept his entree warm in the kitchen so that it'd be fresh for when he did arrive.
The food is also tasty. My favorites are the pear salad and pesto gnocchi. The pear was so sweet and whatever dressing was used was so flavorful, and the gnocchi had a delicious aftertaste. I'd highly recommend coming here for dinner!
Lovely little new gem - great food attentive staff and host . Close enough for Lincoln Center or Broadway.
First time at Aroma and found it while looking for a pre NY City Center dinner. They have a very diverse menu with many choices we were interested in trying. We settled on mostly specials: a house made burrata with grilled asparagus, prosciutto and balsamic, house made fettuccine with shrimp and trout stuffed with crabmeat. All were excellent. Very helpful and attentive staff and a well stocked bar. We will be back. Highly recommended
The food and service were really good.
Second time there. Won’t be my last. Everything was fine right. Service, Food, ambiance. Veal with pine nuts and golden raisins superb. Salads excellent. New favorite in town.
Food is ok but nothing special. Wine list is very limited. Prices are quite high for the quality. Convenient to theatres, but there are better options.
Service was excellent. Food was excellent as well. Not a wine connisseur, but they seem to have a representative wine list. Overall, a good experience.
The food, the service and the atmosphere were great. We went for a birthday celebration and they made it a very special evening.
