Armageddon Cake Dessert Bar
Need to book at 9:45 AM?Other great restaurants with availability.
I'm not sure why the selection had to include sides. Why can't you just order cake to share without sides?
Always lovely great food and ambiance ,great place to go and relax after a movie .Would be great to have some snack meals as well .
When being seated, my group sat down, to notice that there was a person sleeping on the couch behind our table. This person had dirty socks hanging over the end of the couch behind me. To my surprise, a waitress came and woke the man up and told him he had tables to clear. He was an employee of the cake bar, who was sleeping whilst on shift. When he walked to the front of house, his pants were hanging down very low, and his backside was clearly visible. This was repulsive enough to see. To then be served a drink by this man, made me feel ill, knowing that he went directly to serve my drinks after being woken.
This odd behaviour was discussed with waitress upon leaving, however, she didn’t appear concerned, and said that the cake bar is open late (11 pm) and the staff got tired. This is not appropriate behaviour in a food service establishment. I don’t think I’ll be returning again, despite how tasty the cakes were. The vision of a worker sleeping with his socks near my face, then seeing his butt crack, was very unappealing!
Yummy and so many Gluten Free options which I need 😊
Service would have been 5 star but we had to get our own menus and being 1st time customers nothing was explained to us. In saying that the menus were very self explanatory so it really wasnt a problem. We will definitely be back!
Always love going to Armageddon, the staff are always lovey and very attentive, only thing I could say this time was that they had run out of English breakfast tea😱 which was disappointing as that’s the only tea I drink and don’t drink coffee but otherwise everything was perfect as always 🙌🏻
meals were excellent timing was ok waitress was professional price was on the high side but sooner pay for good service and good food other patrons need to quieten down their kids and be aware of other diners need for reasonable noise ambiance overall a pleasant light luncheon will return
This is a very quirky dessert bar with lots of character. I have been once before and was eager to get back to have the red velvet again. The red velvet was dry and flavourless. Luckily i had ordered two half cakes so i could at least enjoy one of them. The rest of my table enjoyed their cakes other than one other who also had dry cake. Service was slow for a quiet night.
Enjoyable though one of the desserts seems to be still frozen in the middle...
Normally service is excellent. There was some confusion with our drink orders and then one of the cake orders had the wrong sides. No biggie, and unusual based on our previous times there.
Fabulous, fun and kid friendly I would highly recommend.
Hot Chocolates tasted like a 1 teaspoon milo I could make at home. Not something youd expect from a Cake Bar. Step Up the Chocolate!!!!
Delicious food. Helpful staff. I had the chocolate cake with ganache and it was to die for. We had a large group booking and they were accommodating and flexible around this.
We go there a lot most Saturday night or three out of 4 in the month after movies
I had booked but service was very slow drinks came out along time until share platter and I had to go and get plates and cutlery
Tables weren’t cleared next to us
Disappointing wondering if understaffed was at 9.30 pm Saturday night
Still love food
Yummy desserts. We had a dessert platter with 3 desserts which was great. Good service. Good ambience. People sitting next to us were very loud and rude. Apart fe that good experience
We were disappointed with the fact after 45 mins we were told we'd need to finish up as they had another booking - I get you are busy but make this known at time of booking!
The gluten free range is quite tasty and not dry - which is often the case. I thought the gentleman serving us was lovely. There was a glitch with our booking but he still made the best of it. Well done!
Great family time. No technology and enjoyed sharing a dessert platter and playing a few games just like the old days.
Love this place after going to the movies .great to sit in the comfy chairs and have a cuppa and share a yummy tasting plate . Great venue ,great food 😊
Excellent cake and value for money, however crap service. It wasn’t busy at all and the 4 staff members on were just talking to each other and mucking around behind the bar area. Had to keep walking over to ask for things they didn’t give a rats about the customers in there. Get new staff if you want to keep your business alive. Also it would be great if you could get a liquor license, the old venue there had one so u can’t see why you couldn’t and that way you could start making dessert cocktails too.
It took a long time to be served- almost 40mins! And when we arrived it wasn’t too busy which confused us as to why it took so long to even be given a menu. Cake options were great but most of us found our cakes were frozen on the inside which put a bit of a dampener on the experience
Best place for if you have food allergies everything is catered for!
The most luscious cakes ever. The waitress was lovely and helped us make our choices as we had a child with us, and needed soy. Top marks for her help. It was very busy being Mother's Day but we were not hurried out.
Only complaint would be that I had made a booking through OpenTable and I arrived exactly on time, although my companions were a little late. I was first given a small table unsuitable for our needs. I was moved to a better one when I asked. I would have thought that as I had booked, not many others had it seemed, that they would have reserved a suitable table for us.
I would recommend Armageddon Cake Dessert Bar to a friend and I am looking forward to coming back again. I love the tasting plate which I will probably get again.
Generally ok...staff friendly, everything passable, just no wow factor. This place SHOULD have a wow about it...it’s dessert after all!
One of the staff was fantastic
One was very pushy
I would have liked to see a citrus tart or lemon pie of some sort. If you don't like chocolate, there's not too much to choose from. My choc dessert was good. Good choices of hot drinks too. Service was great.
This was our first time at the new venue and the cosy, ambient feel that the old venue had has completely gone. It could not have felt more different - cold, clinical, rushed decoratiog (holes in walls) etc. Our waiter was completely disinterested, couldn't remember basics like the fact that the kids were probably having the iced drinks and the adults the hot, he got our drink orders wrong, he said that the chai came with honey on the side when it came with honey already in it... maybe it was his first day? He really needs to be a bit happier at work and put on a smile.
We had a booking and we waited at least ten minutes before we even were spoken to. The waiter was then serving other people before us, however we were standing by the please wait to be seated sign. We weren’t given water until we were nearly done and that was after asking a few staff members. The cake was nice though just not very good service
Their cake is so good! I love that they offer vegan options and their serving sizes are huge! A great place to catch up with people over coffee and CAKE! Yummy!
We waited for 50 mins for our cake to come out even though we had now finished our coffees. When asking where our food was we got asked if we had ordered- yes we had as our drinks arrived. We then got told the kitchen had misplaced our orders. We then left as we had been there for an hour without receiving any food
Cakes are so tasty and such a good variety! Quick and friendly service, plenty of space. Very generous servings, next time I think I’ll get the Nibbler instead of a Single serve.
Cakes are delicious but I find the dress code of the staff extremely off putting. One lady that was serving us, her top was so dirty it was extremely off putting. They all seem to be really casual and I find it quite unprofessional and unpleasant. However the cakes are amazing and plate presentation is impressive
The lime and coconut syrup cake was divine. I have been many times over the years and have mixed views of the cakes themselves, but this one was outstanding. Great pot of chai to top it off. Things did get a bit noisy after 8-830 or so but there were only two of us so we managed to still hear each other fine. Ambience wise, it won't beat the original location but they're making the most of the new location and it still has a great vibe. Definitely recommend for a relaxed night out
Amazing fresh cakes and the best coffee. We got the tasting plate with 3 cakes and 5 sides to share between two. The portion sizes of each cake was quite small but it didn’t matter as in the end we were too full to finish all of it as they are very rich. Would definately recommend.
I really liked the cakes but I did find they were a little bit rich. May have just been the cakes we ordered though. Overall awesome experience, loved the feeling of being back in my grandmas house.
Best cakes ever eaten. Any occassion would suit. Long black over ice 👌👌
The staff were rude and took them roughly 20 minutes before coming over and clearing the dirty table we were seated at and taking our order
The new location might not have the same ambiance, although the retro furniture and board games are the same - but my dessert tasted fabulous. Great place for a birthday celebration. It's like being in someone's lounge room, but we didn't have to cook. A good time was had by all. Excellent service too.
They need to spend more time creating a unique place with moody lighting. The previous place on Little Malop had real homely feeling that was fun, vibrant, and cosy. This new place feels cold and copied, no genuine character.
