Moments from Clapham High Street, Argan’s Moroccan-Lebanese cuisine is central, our aim to be local restaurant with international flavours. The restaurant brings the subtle flavours of Morocco and Lebanon to southwest London’s diners. The food and drinks, the service and the restaurant’s atmosphere are all intended to evoke pictures of sultry nights in Moroccan bazaars and Lebanese shisha bars on Clapham’s Venn Street. Diners are invited to join the team to sample the flavours from this unique culinary destination. Diners at Clapham’s Argan are offered a menu which covers all the classics of Moroccan and Lebanese cooking. There are mezze platters to share and traditional tagines, as well as dishes which lead with ingredients like couscous and chick-peas. Naturally, there are also charcoal-grilled meats and vegetables dishes too – the aim is to offer flavours from the regions for every kind of diner. The Falafel starter tasted freshly made although it was a little dry and the could have had more sauce to accompany it. For my main I had the Mixed Grill which came with Rice and Salad. This was ok but the meat was a little overcooked and the Salad was not fresh some of the leaves were turning brown and looked wilted. Overall the food was just average a 3/5 and the price was OK too. If I was to return I would order something difference to provide a wider view of their menu.

The food is delicious, great vibes, it would be perfect if the service was better, we wait a lot before order. But honestly we will come back!

Nice food and quite large portions. The service was extremely slow though and it took us over ah hour to get our meals even if the restaurant was half empty.

It was a great evening - very good cocktails and lovely food. We ordered one of the set menus (Feast) but asked for any substitution for the chicken wings which my friend cannot eat. Said we were happy to pay the difference for eg halloumi dish ( about £1.50) so we’re a bit surprised and disappointed to discover on the bill that they had just added the full cost of the Halloumi as an additional dish but with no reduction for their saving on the chicken wings. Left a slightly sour note to an otherwise excellent meal - hence reduced value and overall scores.

Really enjoyable and honest friendly service. The host took time to explain dishes and give a steer to those less familiar with moroccan cuisine. The food was well balanced and really recommend the chicken livers!
