Dishes at Aquavit London honour fresh, seasonal ingredients and deliver a contemporary take on authentic Nordic cuisine, with menus developed by Jorjon Colazo, Head Chef.
Overseen by the design studio of Swedish-born Martin Brudnizki (The Ivy, Scott’s and Sexy Fish), Aquavit London has been inspired by Gunnar Asplund’s design of Gothenburg City Hall in Sweden, and the restaurant showcases celebrated Nordic designers in a laid-back yet sophisticated environment.

Just an overall great experience! We really enjoyed our time.
Stylish restaurant, modern but inviting. Service very good, upmarket experience overall. Food was good, rather Scandy, as you would expect. Poached cod had a lovely texture- very soft, good vegetables. Celeriac soup with truffles rich and flavourful. Cod could have been a bit more vibrant overall perhaps but I will go back.
I would recommend this restuarant for a premium lunch. It is located on a discreet side street in central london near Piccadilly Circus. The front of house staff are welcoming and professional. Lunch is served promptly at your table, however this is not the place for a quick 30 minute lunch it is a place to enjoy your lunch experience either alone, with guests or colleagues. It should be also noted that there are a small number of outside tables and a separate small bar indoors, so if you are after a tea/coffee in a busy central London location this is a nice place.
Eating at Aquavit was a very nice Swedish experience. The service was great, the food delicious. A good wine list.
Great original food and excellent service. Extremely helpful waitress who explained everything and found gluten free options. Nothing was too much trouble. Nice relaxed quiet ambience if a little sterile.
Very good value set menu for lunch with cheerful service and excellent food. A very pleasant experience all round.
Pre theatre menu - amazing value and fantastic service
The weekend set menu is one of the best value deals in London. Top quality food in a relaxed environment at a very reasonable price
Incredible food, great representation of some of Sweden’s most popular dishes. The only letdown was the table cloths, which I still don’t understand
Excellent food, service and ambiance. Location is really good as well. Just little expensive so only for special occasion.
I’m so disappointed. I loved Aquavit. We even celebrated my 40th here in a private room.
I keep going back convinced that The one bad experience was a one off.
But the last 2 visits have been really poor compared to the high standards you set yourselves.
Amazing food, dog friendly, well knowledgeable staff.
Faultless service and wonderful food and ambiance.
Amazing food and service! Will come back soon
Excellent service, great value for money and wonderful decor!
excellent food one of the nicest monk fish dishes I have ever had but really quite pricey !
Very quick and easy service; delicious food; wonderful ambience; pre-theatre menu is value for money.
We had a pre theatre dinner but chose to eat a la carte and were not disappointed. All dishes were delightful and beautifully presented.
Excellent food and drinks in lovely surroundings with excellent service.
Excellent restaurant in St. James’s Market a few minutes from Piccadilly Circus. Delicious, beautifully presented dishes from the Nordic countries, in particular Sweden. The meatballs and Beef Rydberg never disappoint. Very helpful and professional service. As repeat guests we were offered a glass of Prosecco. Nice touch! Beautiful dining room with high quality Scandinavian tableware. Very reasonable prices for a Michelin starred restaurant in central London. I can highly recommend this restaurant.
Excellent food, especially the herring. Lovely drinks too
Great service. Ordinary food. However the dessert of Bird nest is quite something! Very good!
Service started smoothly but soon hit a traffic jam that led to us arriving late to the theater.
The food is amazing but I was bothered endlessly by the staff cutting me off all the time asking 'is everything okay... or can I remove this plate or do this" This restaurant has always received 5 stars from me but please educate your staff on proper service etiquettes. I never managed to finish telling a story...
PS. its Christmas... it's in poor taste not to have any Christmas decorations inside your venue.
Food was lovely especially the meatballs and beef. The place is classy and well decorated. Only downsides are they got our starter order wrong (but rectified quickly) and the price which is in my opinion a little high. Would recommend though.
Great food, lovely atmosphere!
We were satisfied with our visit to the restaurant. We ordered the oyster and pre-theatre menu. It was one of the best oysters that I had in a while. The non-alcoholic cocktail was also exceptional. Most of the service had a Personal touch. Very attentive staff.
In terms of improvement, the bread basket was placed in front of us without much explanation to the types of bread so I had to enquire about it. I wish this could have been explained earlier. The Swedish meatball was slightly too salty.
Apart from these minor slips, I was satisfied with my experience at Aquavit.
I absolute loved this restaurant. Beautiful setting, amazing food and great service. I will definitely come back and I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone. It is pricey but well worth it.
Forgot about the birthday of my wife. Aside from that the food is delicious and the space is beautiful.
You have to like the venue and we were ready to go with the flow. Everything that was fish or seafood was very fresh and delicious - but not really elaborate. The venison was cooked perfectly, the sauce was nowhere near as refined as one would expect for a one Michelin star.
Service was nice but totally lacking for that class of a restaurant. Staff was more busy to chat and have fun than to worry about customers.
Top-tier international restaurant
Nice ambience and food was tasty but the portions were so small that I have to say it is not good value
We specifically requested for express lunch menu during reservation. But they claimed menu not available. Service was slow and unfriendly. Food was good. Lunch took more than an hour : mostly just waiting to be served.
This was our second time at this restaurant (the first time was amazing) but unfortunately the experience was very different. Food great. Service terrible. So many issues with the service, lack of attention. It was after a show and it felt that they couldn’t wait to close the restaurant. Terrible...terrible..terrible!
Go for the Herring and the Monkfish. Really good service during our dinner. Not cheap but good experience.
