We've dined many times at Appertito, but that was the last. My pasta was bland and inedible, the two people I was with also thought their meals were bland and very poor. Very disappointing as we live on the south coast and travelled in specifically to dine there. Even though we mentioned it to a waiter we were still charged full price and the surcharge. We did receive a small discount after I complained again.
Dined with friends on a Saturday night, the food was very good and came out quickly.
You are able to split the bill which was helpful, however make sure you have your totals figured out before going to the register. Also the 10% surcharge on a Saturday I thought was a little much considering there are no award rates for staff working on Saturday's.
We were looking for something close to our hotel and simple for our first night in Sydney. This place is right across from cruise ship terminal. The service was very good and prices were reasonable. We ordered a salad with arugula, pear and shaved parm that was very tasty. We also shared a pizza that had ham, artichoke, mushrooms, and olives. It unfortunately fell way short of being good. The crust was burnt and pretty soggy.
Went for Valentine’s Day dinner was amazing we will back again
We have been here a few times and as always the food and service was amazing! Great location too, would definitely recommend.
We returned to Appetito to celebrate our friend’s birthday as we had a very positive experience there a few weeks ago when we found the staff extremely attentive and the ambiance warm and friendly. However, this experience was rather different as it was a Saturday night so it was busier and the staff did appear to be rushed off their feet. The food is always good but I think we will stick to midweek in future
Extremely rude wait staff. Booked a table for two online and went into an empty restaurant and requested to sit outside but upon requesting was denied. Shortly after a couple without a reservation walked in, requested to sit outside and were granted. Waiter had no excuse apart from, “the manager said so”, however there wasn’t even an option when booking online!!
Nice Italian restaurant. The vealscallopine and tiramisu were both great
This was a brothers and wives dinner. The central location allowed everyone to catch the train in. My brothers and their partners were all delighted in my choice of venue. Staff were friendly and relaxed. Food beers and wine were of the highest quality.
Note that there are three entrances so be clear with your guests, where you wish to meet them.
Delicious food, generous portions, excellent service, thoroughly recommend this place
Appetito server us Delicious food at great price & was positioned beautiful location. There cocktails where also really yummy. Celebrated my birthday here with my partner and had a lovely evening
Fantastic food & service. Can’t wait to come back & try some other beautiful dishes. Thank you. Kate from Brisbane
The flat bread and dips are delicious. We all had pasta dishes for mains - nice serving but the prawns weren’t very tasty. Overall, a nice casual lunch
Great location, great service. Attentive to our preference for seating location. Servings have become smaller overtime, would have liked to see more feed on the plate, considering the cost.
Happy to eat there again, if you using gift cards just check they can take them
The family and I enjoyed it, and we'll be coming back.
Lovely place for a leisurely lunch. Great views (when the cruise liners aren't in) accompanied by fantastic food
Had a pre show dinner and service and food was great. Nice hidden Italian in the Rocks, will be back
Disappointed that our drinks order came after our food order and several times during the course of the meal, drinks arrived that we hadn't ordered. When we got the bill, one of those drinks orders that we didn't order, was on our bill. Food was very good though.
Food was great , service was good but our table position was right next to the service station so we had waiters back and forth all the time . Recommend you drop this table
After initially booking for 15 I changed my order to 8 and upon arrival there was no booking.
Very disappointing considering I booked months ago!
No one seemed to know what was going on.
Eventually we were seated and the food and experience was fabulous.
An enjoyable evening with friends. The food was great, the service was good.
Panna cotta was amazing.
Love the food! Love fhe staff! Thank you chef Francis! One of the best. Must try!!!!
Food was good but certainly not what I had expected from this restaurant. Not a great selection in pizzas. Service was poor to begin with, waited more than 30 mins for our first drinks to arrive, had to remind them several times. But the service level did improve during the evening.
This was a disappointing meal, first when I arrived the waiter questioned my reservation. Finally a manager came over to actually look at the reservation on my open table app. They had run out of the nicer Italian wines and the Margherita Pizza was mediocrely best.
There was a piece of plastic in the pizza, service was terrible, they did not replace the fork that dropped on the floor, no toilet paper in the toilet, when I told them about our experience the owner said sorry but we have 1000 happy customers every week, will never go back there, very disappointing
This place was awful. They were severely understaffed and the staff that was there were not efficient with some flirting amongst themselves instead of waiting on tables. We waited for 5 mins after being seated just to get our menus, then another 30 mins to get water and order our food. We should have left, but I figured they were understaffed and the food would be worth the wait. They were out of every Italian wine on their list, which was really bad for an Italian place early in the evening. I was hoping the food would at least redeem the experience and was disappointed. The food was mediocre at best and it all came out luke warm all together: salad, entrees, mains. The ambiance in The Rocks was nice but there are so many amazing places to eat in Sydney. Hopefully this place will be replaced soon by a better restaurant.
Good value for money. Relaxed but attentive service. Easy to reach location.
We’ve dined here a couple of times over the years and it’s been excellent.
This time unfortunately it was terrible.
The frozen supermarket garlic bread should have served as a warning, but it was downhill from there.
We shared the Pizza patate and spinach ravioli.
The potato pizza was basically a slimy cheese base with dabs of mashed potato. Inedible and disgusting.
The ravioli was ok, except for the sauce of pure melted butter which was starting to congeal.
When we left the majority of the food none of the staff enquired if everything was Ok - they’ve clearly grown to expect complaints and therefor don’t ask.
All in all a disaster. Would not recommend.
We love it there, my husband and i always try to get there when we are in Sydney
Nice quiet shaded outdoor area making for ease of conversation and enjoyable food.
Friendly staff and great food would definitely go back
Food was nice however our waitress was just really angry, like we were just bothering her being there. made the whole experience really tense so we left as soon as we could. Disappointing.
The service, ambiance, background music and drinks were excellent. No complaints. However, the pasta couldn't have been fresh. It felt microwaved and the condiments - for myself the 'Ragu' and 'Pancetta' -was like eating supermarket mince meat. Very disappointing especially given the standard of food available for the same price elsewhere in the Rocks.
This was the second time dining at Appetito and both times the food was delicious and staff were wonderful. The staff tried to accommodate every request.
We found that our meals came out cold considering that there was no one in the venue this was pretty poor and we only ordered pasta dishes.
Friendly and attentive staff serving average Italian food. Fish of the day was salmon, the cop out of choice for average restaurants in my view, because it’s easy.
It’s an ok restaurant but not wonderful.
Super fast service, we arrived at 6pm, order, ate and left by 6:30pm.
Great if you want a quick meal!
We were a group of 20 people and organising lunch for large groups can be challenging at the best of times. However the Appetito staff made the experience really pleasant; they were extremely friendly and accommodating.
Excellent value for money with the lunch special.
Food was amazing, will definitely visit again when in Sydney!
