Excellent Food Excellent Service. Beautiful spot
I had a reservation on the rooftop for a birthday. We were told that the rooftop did not have availability due to high demand—even after I had specified and confirmed that we would be sat outside.
The ambience inside the restaurant was nice, but the service was horrible. It took forever to order anything, we had wrong dishes brought out to us.
Very disappointed in the experience. Not worth the money.
The check in process was confusing and clearly not equitable. Some people without reservations were given special treatment over those with reservations for reasons outside our realm of understanding. The elevator is very slow and it is congested and confusing when you arrive on the roof. Teenagers and wanna-be influencers took photos in the doorway the entire dinner. The bathroom was absolutely disgusting with no toilet paper, soap, or paper towels (not covid safe!).
All of this being said, the wait staff was excellent and had a good balance of attentiveness and respect. The food was delicious and the drinks were amazing! The ambiance was cool!
The service is excellent and the food amazing.
Food was OKAY. Had to ask for bread at an Italian restaurant., they came back with 2 slices of sourdough barely toasted. Drinks are overpriced. Pizza looked good though.
Ampia is a gorgeous place and on the perfect sunny day it comes to light! I’m always looking for nice places to go and this resturant fit the look and feel! The seafood salad was amazing and the host and waiters are nice and friendly. I will be back!
I felt like my food was not worth the price.. my steak had no taste and the chicken was over cooked. I cant believe i spent 80 for my meal, with that being said they even forgot we were sitting and waiting to be attended. I would not recommend this restaurant to no one.
Hard to find entrance covered in flowers no street address visible I was 20 minutes late for reservation I called in advance to inform I was coming late they canceled my reservation no problem my fault ok .. I ask for the next available reservation the hostess told me everything was reserved for the night very dismissive. I walked outside and checked the open table app and there it was next reservation half hour away it’s all about the ambience here because the food and service are mediocre
The food was very bland...cold...and they allowed a DOG INSIDE THE RESTAURANT....THAT IS EXTREMELY UNSANITARY AND UNSAFE FOR THOSE WITH ANIMAL ALLERGIES LIKE MYSELF. It was a big energetic dog that barked and jumped all over people...they also didn't have the proper condiments for the food they serve...terrible experience wrapped with beautiful flowers and string lights!!!
Birthday for my best friend. Dinner was good, service was great!!!
The Gnocchi platter was amazing and the truffle fries were delicious and the lava cake was the perfect ending to an amazing meal. Would definitely come here again.
It was great coming to Ampia, me and my princess always had fun and when we eat le pizza Bianca it’s just amazing it like it melts in your mouth .
Honestly I don’t even do the whole review thing , but this restaurant was one of the worst places I’ve ever been too.the Customer service is just terrible , it took the “manager” almost 15 minutes to even greet us or take our order . The food was bland , I ordered pasta & it didn’t even taste like Alfredo . Overall the food isn’t good and way too expensive.
The place has a really good ambiance even the indoor. I love the flower decorations. And food is excellent! Definitely coming back!
The service was terrible. Our reservation was for 6:45 and we were not seated until 8:20. We were being completely ignored while we were waiting for our table, and not asked if we would want anything while we waited. When we were finally seated, we waited a half hour before anyone came over to take our orders. The food was not great, and extremely overpriced. Although the place is cute, I would NOT recommend.
We LOVE this place!!!!
The service was awful, they definitely did not seem to want our business from the minute we walked in the front door. Dirty silverware, no salt or pepper, had to ask for refills every time, for drinks that expensive we should not have to ask for service. Huge loud bang occurred nothing was said about what it could have been, lights went out in our table before we were even done eating, didn’t ask if we wanted desserts.. not the best experience but the food we did get was good.
The food and drinks were overpriced, but it was very COVID safe. Greenhouses were cute and the place was very aesthetic. Would RSVP again.
Service was good, the food not to good. Place is amazing too bad it was raining
Nice diner despite the rain ... the terrasse with its small glass houses is amazing.
Very friendly service! Thanks
Amazing dinner for my birthday. The food , drinks , and view was just perfect. Music nice and modern and the set up is just right for a friendly dinner or special location. Will definitely repeat. All 12 of my guests were satisfied with the servers and service thank you.
If you want anything more than an expensive place to enjoy beautiful atmosphere, eat literally anywhere else. First we were sat in a little greenhouse with no light- it had a cute wooden structure over it and it was dark, which was ok for a while, we pretended it was romantic. After 25 mins with no waiter, my hub got up to see what was going on and realized we had been locked in from the outside by a latch- odd. We first order the $20.00 Burrata which was literally a piece of fresh Mozz- not really a burrata, in the middle of the plate with 4 pcs of Proscuitto around it. No dressing, nothing- the most plain & expensive burrata Ive ever had. Now, as a Gnoccheria, you'd think the Gnocci was amazing, but it was mediocre. I had the Bolognese- decent flavor, super oily and way more meat than pasta. Also, my $19.00 Lady Verde drink was cheap gin awful- but that was taken off the bill. Also, there was aggressive techno music pumping so conversation was hard. So while this place is amazingly creative, and has a fantastic ambiance inside and out- eat anywhere else.
Cool ambiance. Food is ok. Service was smooth.
I enjoyed my experience at Ampia. My husband Gnocchi was good at best and my pizza and Cesar salad was excellent’
Food was ok .
Ordered Calamari for $17 added shrimp for $7, literally got 5 medium shrimp.A waste of money.
Service, not attentive.
Not crowed or very busy yet somehow too busy to attend to the entire section where we were seated .
Met a guest in the bathroom mentioned her good was awful ,this place is given way more credit than deserves.
The lobster sandwich was lack luster, no flavor, stale cold bread, we were expecting at least toasted and seasoned .
$17 drink which was mainly Ice all the way to the brim .
Really great service and food! Would definitely come here again
Great ambiance. Our servers were attentive and the food was great. Plus we felt very safe regarding their covid-protocols.
Foid was not good
It was an okay experience! The service was alright, could of even. Better. Felt like I was forgotten about which sucked. The gnocchi trio was so-so but needed more seasoning or something but overall it was okay. Midnight martini was so strong my godddd
Branzino and gnocci were amazing! Definitely the warmest greenhouses I've been in.
Ampia offers an excellent combination of good service and quality food in the middle of the financial hearth of NY
Wonderful wait staff and food!
Wonderfull atmosphere, great food, great service. Definitely recommend this place
Waiting staff was quite disorganized, there was weird stuff in one of the glasses (likely from using a dirty glass) and the people were generally rushing us throughout the night.
The food itself was solid, but felt like the drinks were not worth the price.
All in all, don’t regret going but probably wouldn’t recommend.
The place was super cute and the food was great but we had to wait a long time for everything. Would definitely come back
Too busy for the staff to handle. Unless you get a private shed or bubble you’re very close to others. The risotto is awful. Was basically dry white rice with mushrooms. Servers slam down plates and silverware and don’t remember who ordered what. For the price, mark the seats and know who ordered what. Has been better before... but friday was not great. Drinks came faster than ever though. Hostess was sweet and most of staff once engaged.
They put far too little lobster in the gnocchi dish and far too little yellow fin tuna in the linguini dish.
Result was just an over-priced pasta meal.
Service was very slow, but we were seated farthest from the kitchen, one level up on the rooftop. We were in an "igloo" with several larger parties, so noise level was higher than usual, but we could still speak. Food was good, though slightly overpriced
Great food, good service, cute setup on the roof. One star gets knocked off for them forgetting about our dessert and keeping us waiting for an hour, especially on a very frigid, cold night.
Very good atmosphere, the food is delicious. I suggested it to all my friends
