chorizo, fingerlings, salsa verde
baked potato gnocchi, tomato, ricotta salata
mushrooms, butternut squash, pancetta, brown-butter, whipped goat cheese
Prices are a bit high but the food was really good. If you’re a two top you might get stuck between tables so request something on the end.
Another outstanding meal with excellent service. Even in the colder weather, the outdoor seating is warm and comfortable. Knowledgeable, friendly staff and perfectly cooked homemade pasta, crafted on premises. They don't lose their touch, proven by the many diners, including our group, who are repeat customers. We will be back - again.
Everything was superb including the appetizers, entrées, desserts, wines, and service. The one problem, and a serious one, was that the tables were very close together, totally ignoring social distancing.
The cost for everything was much less than we expected.
George the owner made the experience exceptional because I was in a wheelchair and he was able to make accommodations and the food was exceptional
an excellent experience. The food was very creative and exceptional. I highly recommend the duck and octopus.
Everything was efficient. We didn't wait long for our water, bread, appetizers, and entrees. The staff were attentive and friendly. The food was delightful! The space is tight but ambiance was calming.
Food was delicious. The artichokes were very tasty and the octopus phenomenal. My pasta special, tortellini stuffed with beef ragu, in a mushroom sauce, was perfect. Pasta was al dente and the mushrooms delicious. I can't wait to return!
We chose outdoor seating in a toasty warm booth with 2 heaters for a perfect meal of octopus, calamari, marrow and artichokes. For the main course, we chose the ribs, branzino, gnocchi and papparadelle pasta and ended with a tiramisu and cherry gelato for a delectable dinner. The servers were attentive and unobtrusive. All in all, a wonderful experience
Food was incredible and the service was so helpful. Will become a regular spot!
The food and service never disappoints! It’s a great place to dine causally or for a special event.
Wonderful food, service and ambiance! My "go-to" place to locally dine in Center City.
First time my wife and I dined at Ambrosia. We are very experienced diners and are passionate about Italian food. All of the food at Ambrosia (appetizers, entrees and dessert) was genuinely outstanding. And the freshly baked focaccia was superb. Each of our freshly made pasta dishes were extraordinarily good. The restaurant is small and charming though the layout is awkward when entering (directly in front of the bathroom) and a little tight. In addition, the noise level was a bit high (probably because of the 3 large parties dining there that night). The bottom line is that we cannot wait to return to Ambrosia!
Good food but overrated, especially for the price.
Really great food and such a nice place- would definitely recommend!
We enjoyed lunch in a heated booth. The pasta was delicious. The grilled octopus was a little tough. Servers were pleasant and helpful. The booths hold 4 to 6. You have to reserve for 4 and then call to add 2.
Food was good but my significant other and I both felt terrible later that night. Our guess was that it was the calamari or the grilled octopus that made us sick.
I’ve heard good things otherwise, so not sure if this was a one off or not but it was certainly disappointing to have that experience.
Food is delicious! Great experience. Tried the bone marrow appetizer and it was amazing.
Ambrosia was absolutely amazing! The ambiance was beautiful and the staff were so sweet, hospitable and kind. The food was also out of this world. Will definitely we going back.
Outstanding as always
This was such a great find. We came as the last reservation for lunch and got to enjoy it pretty empty. I can't speak to noise levels when it is full, but it was great place to enjoy good food and conversation. Amazing amazing food. Super cute. Great service.
Food and service were both excellent. We will definitely go back because there are so many dishes we'd like to try! I highly recommend this restaurant!
The foccacia and dipping sauce was amazing and delicious. Great service as well! They have created beautiful outdoor seating as well
Wonderful experience overall!
I said it bfore and I'll say it again - the best quality value in the city!!
The Octopus was dry but tasty. Everything else was spot on.
The food is always delicious, and it just has a great neighborhood vibe.
We enjoyed ravioli and salmon, sitting in booth. Food was delicious. Service was very pleasant and courteous. I noticed a new heater in the booth, ready for the cold weather. The location is quiet, away from heavy traffic. Close to Schuylkill River Park, a great place to take a walk during the day.
Came 15 mins earlier than reservation and offered to wait if necessary. Host put us in an isolated section in front of kitchen and waiter traffic. Politely asked to be moved with the other diners, but after 5 mins of haggling the host finally placed us at an open seat with the rest of the diners. In an obvious rush to turn tables, our food came within 10 mins of ordering. Waiter never asked us how our food was or checked on us. Pasta dishes were mediocre. We ordered dessert and it came within 2 mins of ordering, again rushing us. As we left nobody from the restaurant said anything. Unfriendly service and average food!
This is a wonderful neighborhood Italian restaurant. It’s a BYOB, which keeps your tab reasonable. The appetizers, the pasta and desserts are innovative and very tasty. The glass booths outside are private and comfortable. Overall, the four of us loved the meal—there was nothing left on any of the plates.
This was a first meal indoors at Ambrosia. From the greeting of the M'D to the waiters, service was excellent. The food was nicely plated, delicious with the most outstanding dish was a polenta that we discovered was mixed with goat cheese. My wife and I shared the veal and beef platter with the spicy peppers as an additional side/appetizer.
Moderately priced for our entrees, a think a pasta dish would make the restaurant a very good value.
While seated close to others, we could hear without shouting, and were very well served by several waiters.
Food was delicious !
Brussels sprouts, soup of day, homemade pasta, short ribs!!!!! Finished every morsel . Can’t wait to go back
One of the best in the city, hands down!
great service. the food was amazing and we ate outside in glass enclosed heated area
Very nice restaurant
Love this place! As always both the food and service were amazing! Homemade pastas and the freshest ingredients. So worth it!
Wonderful meal - my party had in-house pasta and it was delicious. Highly recommend if you're looking for a great italian restaurant in the rittenhouse area.
Outside in heated chalet. Only noise was one loud table 2 tables away.
Everything was amazing. Highly recommend.
Love this restaurant!!!
