Ambra Italian Kitchen + Bar - MGM Grand
Quality of the food is just horrible. Like other reviews the service was poor. I asked how much was a high end bourbon and the response was "to much". I would not book an evening at this restaurant you will be sadly disappointed
Fantastic food. Large portions. Great service.
We had reservations at 7:45 before the show, but weren't seated until close to 8:15 so it made it a little rushed.
Food was mediocre and service was terrible. Our server was rude and dismissive. My feeling was that he was irritated that we didn't order alcohol. We hardly saw him at all. The food is very overpriced for the taste. I had the spaghetti, my friend had ravioli, and my other friend had the lobster pasta. Again, it wasn't terrible food but for the price we expected much more. We had much better food at every other restaurant that we went to.
Squash blossom - thin skin filled with 3 TBS of white glop
Lasagna was torched so that top layer resembled a burned rectangle of cardboard. Sauce, only at bottom of the dry stack, was good.
Caprese salad - ice cold tomato slices surrounding a dollop of bursts. Very little flavor; no imagination
Very good italian food, the lobster spaghetti diavola are highly recommanded
It was a busy night, but after several issues, there was just no excuse for the experience that was had dining here. To kick things off, the server had no knowledge of wine and when asked about a bottle flat out said "I don't know" and did not offer to go ask anyone else. Then she brought the wrong bottle of wine.
Before ordering, I informed the server of a seafood and nut allergy and asked what dishes should be avoided. Grilled zucchini was ordered as a side. Another server drops off the food and places down the "grilled zucchini with capers and anchovy". When our server returned I asked her what was in the zucchini and if there was anchovy. She said oh are you allergic to all seafood, I think it has a fish sauce? Needless to say the zucchini was not eaten and she didn't even bother to offer to take it off the bill.
After finishing the meal we sat at the table for a good 20 minutes before she ever came back to see if we wanted anything else or the bill. Overall the food was just okay and the service was awful. Not one I'll be going back to.
Reservations don’t mean much here. We checked in and waited in line 20 mins to get seated in a very crowded, loud area at an undersized table by rude and snobby hostess. Food was fantastic. Waiter was decent. Bus boys are overly eager to clear plates. It’s expensive but we expected that given its on the vegas strip.
Ordered family style for a combination of American and Asian guests… The Branzino was fantastic, chicken Parm and several pasta dishes were all very good. Reasonably priced good service and great flavors, will recommend and will come back!
A bit surprised by their limited menu regarding entrees and pasta dishes and no port wine. Be aware that anchovies are used in several dishes but not specified other than “not vegan.” Fantastic service and comfortable seating, music fairly loud. Food was good, but for the amount spent, there are far better places in Las Vegas.
The food was excellent. The service was fantastic and very attentive. Considering what I ate, I felt this place was a little over-priced. But it's Las Vegas dining in a high-class resort; so we should expect higher prices. I'm looking forward to coming back with some friends.
We chose Ambra Italian Kitchen to celebrate a friend's birthday. Excellent choice for a relaxing meal. Thanks Ambra for being part of our Vegas memories
Just looking for a good place for dinner and it was way better than anything we had had for three days prior
Went on New Years; service was awful and food was mediocre. Waited 45 minutes for the appetizers, sure wish Fiamma was still there
My wife and i made reservations at this restaurant for after the Michael Jackson ONE show. We arrived 1/2 half hour early and the hostess was very accommodating and sat us within 5 minutes. My wife and I started off with the meatballs and Caesar salad. The salad was good but the Meatballs were to die for and highly recommended. I ordered the Taglitelle bolognese and my wide with Spaghetti Pomodoro. These were fantastic. I recommend if you want extra sauce you better order it when you order your meal as they make the sauce when they make the dish. They do not have a pot of sauce to scoop from.
Our serving team was Erika and Joseph. These two were very attentive and had just the right touch points. They were not overwhelming and gave great recommendations for dishes and also provided guidance based on their questions and our answers (i.e. do you like spicy, etc.).
I highly recommend this restaurant
Delicious! Would definitely come back again. Great drinks and food.
The menu was limited. I expressed dissatisfaction with my meal and our server ignored me. I've never been to a restaurant that didn't try to make a customer satisfied.
Wow. They were out of drink mixes for the drinks on the menu. All we got was a "sorry." My dinner, chicken parmesan, was burned. Blech. I recommend you go somewhere else.
Food was good. Service slow, waiteress got mad when wanted separate checks....the place is nice, wasn’t busy probably due to service
This was our first time here. We shared the meatball appetizer which was very good and the lobster spaghetti which was also good. At over $40 for the spaghetti, the portion was skimpy, with respect to the lobster and the pasta. At that price, it should have been a huge portion and it was not. Next time we are at MGM, we will go back to Wolfgang Puck nearby for equally good food at a more reasonable price. It is not as fancy but that is ok with us.
Yummy food however small menu and not a lot of variety. Not many options for vegetarians.
Sorry. Second trip to this restaurant. First was excellent beginning to end. This time server was rushed and unfocused. Continually cut my order off. Told us that we were ordering too much food, wrong food, etc. I. Won't leave the server's name here but if the management would like up know they can contact me for details. Food was awesome.
Chicken parm was great. Pasta - the reason we came - was terrible. Somehow mushy and al denté at the same time.
An exceptional meal and great service. The Chefs menu allows for a nice smattering - however it’s a vulgar amount of food (tremendous value though, for Vegas). My dining companion, who is a well travelled eater, noted his veal Marsala was likely the single best dish he has ever consumed.
Terrific ambiance and great food
Ambra Italian Kitchen & Bar is an excellent restaurant with delicious food and great service. Located conveniently in the MGM Casino. To start with the bread basket is warm, fresh, filled with flavor and a choice of Italian or Focaccia breads.
The Beet and arugula salad is fair and fresh but the overwhelming bitterness of the arugula mask the sweet beets which are few and scarcely included. On the other hand, the Macaroni al ragu is amazingly fresh with housemade pasta and Ragu Bolognese that is flavorful but not overwhelming.
Though the pasta is one of the best in Vegas, the highlight of the meal was the Ambra Cake with Italian Meringue imbedded in a Vanilla Cake. So tender, so tasty, sweet but no overbearingly so. One of the best Desserts on the Strip!
Ambra Italian Kitchen is an upscale restaurant that strives to be hip and offers a variety of great Italian Food without the Celebrity Chef Marketing. They stand strong on their food and the great service that is offered. Everyone from the Hostess, to the server, to the individuals who bus the tables all work as a cohesive unit and always greets it's patrons with a smile.
My one major complaint is the E.D.M. music playing in the background. A bit intrusive to the digestive process. Though it's presence is understood, as mentioned Ambra tries to project and attract a young, hip atmosphere.
Overall, Ambra is a great restaurant with good food, great service and I look forward to trying the calamari upon my next visit.
great time and experience. service was on the slower side but still good. Would recommend!
Very good food with excellent wine list. On the expensive side. Portions are normal. Desserts very big servings.
Wonderful meal, the cesear salad was one of the best I have ever had and my lasagne had a great flavor. So good I took leftovers home for next night's dinner. Highly recommended.
Unfortunately, less than what we hoped for & expected. The predecessor to this restaurant, Fiamma, never disappointed but this time, it did not live up to expectations. One of our party had to send his steak back, because it was way-over salted. Another person’s steak was okay, but just that.
My pasta was good, but it was a fairly small portion for a fairly high price. I realize that one pays more than bargain-basement price at a place like this, and that’s fine, but it felt I received slightly less than what I paid for.
On the upside, the service was very good. The server did his very best to make things right, and the ambience was good. The background music was just a hair over the volume I’d normally enjoy at a meal, but it was not too distracting.
We had a delightful experience at this restaurant! Couple cocktails and appetizers that were delicious then shared chicken parmigiana and beet salad and lobster spaghetti
And a bolognase dish, then an awesome desert we shared!
We will be back again.
Ambra was packed but the service was still good. Its supposed to be an italian place but other than a few pasta dishes, it seemed like a steak house to me. the steak dishes weren't even italian inspired...no bistecca fiorentina or anything close. The food was prepared well and the wait wasn't long even though the restaurant was full. Wine selection was ok but be ready to spend $200 plus per bottle for anything good.
It was pretty good but nothing to rave about. It was homemade pasta but the portions were not that big. Severs were running around everywhere
Very loud music made it difficult to talk. Great food, great service. $50 corkage fee is a bit high.
Poor service. Substandard food.
Totally fine. Food was ok not great. Service was exceptional.
We had been to fiamma many times so we definitely had to try Ambra. It’s a lot smaller and cozier. The next time we come we will visit the Speakeasy, which is a quirky addition. The only down side we had was with our branzino. While it was very tasty, there were a few bones in it which took away from the overall enjoyment of the dish. That said, we would order it again. Our waiter was very good. He was attentive without being obtrusive.
We had reservations Saturday night for 10:30 for 2. We were at the Eagles concert that lasted until about 11:45pm. I thought we would have lost our reservation since we were over an hour late. When we arrived at Ambra I explained why we were late and they seated us right away. The food was excellent ! I had chicken parm and my wife had amazing salmon. They served perfect martinis also. The service was really great too, we will return.
Great food. Service was excellent.
The waiters saved the day! We thought we were going to FiaMMI For Spare rib ravioli. Well they changed the decor and menu last month. Open table still had it listed as FiaMMI when I made the reservation. Disappointed since the menu item we were specifically go for is no longer.
Overall it was a good meal
I wrote a longer review on Yelp. Short version: If you don't mind music being played at a volume of 9 out 10 where you have to yell at your fellow guests and server, this place is for you.
Music way to loud to enjoy anything. We complained and Tony the manager spoke to the DJ (there on Fri and Sat nights) who lowered the volume a little to where it was tolerable, but still loud. The restaurant is trying to create a "lively" vibe, but they could cut the volume in half and still be lively.
Our service was excellent, except for the wine somalier who does not speak and seems to be unhappy there.
Our server Heidi is awesome! Can't say enough good things about her.
The food was just ok. The Branzino was salty and oily. The salad and Tucsan potatoes were ok. The Ambra cake is excellent. We went by the restaurant the next night when there was no DJ and the music still seemed very loud. For this reason, we may not return.
