I was surprising that on a Sunday afternoon, the restaurant was fairly empty. One other table was occupied. I did not bother to tell them of my reservation. With this said, that other table had some loud customers which I feel were regulars. No respect for other patrons and I understand that the waiter did not want to interfere or say something, I was hoping for a pleasant meal. This did not occur. Other patrons started coming in and a group of 3 sat next to us. One of the patrons from the loud table actually came to that table an excused them all ( he was the loud mouth) and offered them a drink stating that it was happy hour. Food was very good and the service was also but if it wasn't for this person that has no couth or decorum, it was have made a please afternoon with family.
Nothing special about it. Food ok, but not great, service ok once they figured out you exist, environment looks and feels cheap... at least not that expensive
Great lunch spot and very appealing lunch special . It has something for everyone - sushi and Thai
Best happy hour (and strongest drinks) in town. Great lunch specials and good food in general. Gets a tad too loud but I guess that’s NYC in general. I eat here at least a couple times a month.. tellin ya.. fabulous happy hour. And the staff is nice too.
The Malaysian Curry was not good... mediocre but cheap food
My companion and I both thought it was not only an astoundingly good meal but an equally good value. It's a midtown restaurant with "neighborhood restaurant" prices.
strong (and cheap) lunch specials!
The food and service was excellent. The price for the lunch specials were well worth it. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and I would go back.
Took my out of town friend for dinner. The food was good, service was very good. I can’t say it was excellent, but I would recommend it for good Asian food and attentive service at a great price point.
not elegant dining and hard to talk during lunch with noise level, but the food was decent and if in a hurry, service was quick.
Amaze knows how to handle a busy lunch crowd! Our party of 6 was seated, served and fed within 15 minutes of our arrival time. Booked a reservation so there was no wait time there either. The food is fresh the staff efficient and organized. I am never disappointed and was able to feed everyone for under $100 including tip! (full disclosure, we only had water as a beverage so that contributed to the savings) True to their name, this place truly is Amazing!
In a city chock full of incredible sushi restaurants, Amaze44 is a solid utility-player. Good fish that keeps you happy at lunch, but not a place to go for something special. They do have a mix of other pan-Asian food, but I didn't try. Ambiance is fairly utilitarian with tight tables. Again, great for lunch when you want good, but not great experience. Enjoy!
Bad service. Okay food. Never again.
Great place to meet for lunch in the city. Good food
Good food great prices. More of a regular lunch spot than a special event spot.
Delicious in and out Asian fusion that does a lot of business. I followed other reviews and ordered the rick shrimp appetizer which was great. Sushi was fresh. Lots of service staff awaiting the lunch rush.
Price is amazingly reasonable. Various asian foods. Happy hour continues by 9pm.
Appetizers are good. The Red curry we ordered was very watery and lacked taste.
We were party of four and they added 20% tips, that was unexpected for a small party.
Overall it is an okay place for a quick dinner.
Work lunch was enjoyable. Reasonably price and quick service!
Another delightful dining experience at Amaze44. Be sure to check out the Rock Shrimp appetizer. The restaurant can be quite noisy on weekday evenings, so we stick to weekends when the restaurant is usually very quiet. The service was friendly and professional and food was very good indeed.
Food was good but not a reservation-friendly place. When I arrived, the only table they had was a hightop by the door, even with a reservation for a business lunch. At lunch time, it was packed with a line of ppl standing next to my table and Everytime the door opened, a blast of cold air chilled the chances of me getting the business deal.
We began our evening with the excellent Rock Shrimp appetizer. Then the delicately fried Katsu Chicken with a wonderful dipping sauce. Our device was, as always, friendly and professional.
The food was good. The service was anything but gracious. Fast enough. But cold and abrupt. Can fault the sushi, though. Very good. Fresh. Go for the food, but if you're looking for an experience, find someplace else.
always a good spot for lunch and after work drinks.
Amaze 44 is an excellent choice for Asian dining. We love the Rock Shrimp appetizer. Our service could not have been better. Week days can be quite noisy, but the weekends tend to be quiet and a more relaxing experience.
Our soup and entrees came out at the same time while the other tables who ordered after us got their soups out first. Food was okay. Nothing crazy about the experience.
The service was quick and the food very good. We went late at night so I can't speak to noise level when it's full.
Amaze is the best sushi deal in town. Consistently great at the best price. Love it.
it was evident that they were understaffed. waitress was surly.
This restaurant is okay. Food is of decent quality, but nothing fancy. A good venue for friends get-together. It is not noisy and good to chat. No pressure to leave as there’s no one waiting. Services are fine.
It was horrible. We were the only ones with reservations but they did not honor reservations. Why are they on open table?
My friend and I frequent this restaurant often for lunch and dinner. They serve great food and it's always fresh. The price is reasonable and so is the quantity of food. Service is nice and straight to the point, but it can be a little slow. They do get very busy during prime hours. Also, they maximum every square footage of their space, so seating is VERY tight - that is the only downfall. They ambiance is very nice also.
Amaze44 is a true neighborhood gem. Excellent food and service each time we visit. The Rock Shrimp appetizer is a special treat.
Love this place and esp the lunch specials... fresh and yummy
I very large menu of varied cuisine types. Nice to be able to order sushi, a wok-cooked dish, and a curry or noodle dish all in the same meal. Fair prices (for the area) and tasty food.
Is a good place for a quick and not to expensive lunch. Food comes out really fast and is actually very tasty.
Will not be going back. Tables are again to close together too be comfortable for conversation and then there is the loud music.
The food is also not very good I head the fried rice with chicken. I think there were three minuscule chunks of chicken and my mouth had this great film afterwards like eating soggy fries.
Stuff rushes you even though there were free tables. We were asked for our order 30 seconds after sitting.
At least it was cheap but not worth it.
Nice, cozy place. Food was great. Authentic and lots of variety.
We highly recommend the Rock Shrimp appetizer. Excellent.
Overall Amaze44 always serves a great lunch at a perfect price point. Staff is always very attentive and service is very fast for a quick meal.
