I celebrated my birthday at Alpha Pop on a Friday night. The food was outstanding and the service was beyond excellent, the staff did a great job of making me feel special and ensuring I had a great night. The weather was pretty poor and we were sat outside, however, the staff brought over extra heaters to make sure we were comfortable. Thank you so much for a lovely night!
Good environment, good food. I would be better to have a more lights around
This is one of our local restaurants but we really felt like we were on holidays. The outdoor seating is wonderful, food is great, staff are lovely
Brilliant all-round experience as we have come to expect.
This was the perfect night. This restaurant had an absolutely gorgeous view of both the harbour bridge and opera house. We sat outdoors and this was perfectly fine even thought we were still in winter as they had these heaters. The food was phenomenal and the service was very classy and incredible waiters.
The best food I've had in years. Every single dish was outstanding - unheard of, even at the best of the best hatted and Michelin star restaurants. While I appreciate the technicality and precision of food served at places like Quay and Attica, when it comes to food that is just damn delicious but made to a fine dining standard, Alpha beats them all. Can't believe it's taken me that long to discover it. BONUS: toasty warm alfresco dining with the best harbour views in the city.
Great food. Great service. What more could you ask for.
I can not get over how amazing our experience at Alpha pop was!! I can not recommend this restaurant enough. The location- stunning- the drinks- delicious - the food - mouth watering - the service GORGEOUS!!!
Very nice place to go for dinner... views are beautiful
Great service and food prices were good for type and quality of food. On the waterfront all seats are outside was light wind thankfully
Fantastic food and service - a stunning pop venue in between in the bridge and opera house. Even on a rainy cold winters night, the outside seating was cosy under the heaters and sufficiently sheltered under the awning
the spanakopita was amazing
Very disappointed compared to previous visits. Some food superb but the moussaka was extremely below expectations.
Great food, perhaps could offer a wider range of dishes in the main course, but what was on offer was superb.
The food was spot on the location while temporary was great, I would suggest sharing mains between 2 people
At Alpha, a superlative, modern Greek dining experience is always guaranteed. And with the pop up restaurant location now open on the Sydney Harbour waterfront, you have a million-dollar view for your senses yo feast on as well!
Great venue. Wonderful food. The music was unnecessary as the position on the harbour is beautiful, so the natural ambience is only disturbed by the musical din.
The service and food were excellent and so the prices were equitable.
The Greek cocktails were delightful and the wine selection was most pleasing.
Highly recommend but take your your own soap and sanitary neccessities as the body corporate who run the venue need serious attending to. They really let the restaurants down.
The most beautiful spot in Sydney, good service and food, the only disappoint was there were no fish dishes nor the moussaka available.
Amazing food and service! Highly recommend and can’t wait to try again once it’s back at Barangaroo. Wish Yia Yia’s set menu was open to under 8 people.
Superb view and perfect dining experience, lovely food and is exactly what we wanted
Great food in a beautiful location served by attentive staff.
Can’t fault anything about this restaurant & great good at great prices. Love the view & plenty to eat.
Such an amazing view, food, location is top 5. Super recommended. Perfect for special ocations
Great night made all the better because of our waiter who was very good at his job and made our night very pleasant.
Honestly we were weary of going to Alpha Pop due to the previous reviews however our concierge recommended it so we went. We are Greek and we had an AMAZING dinner. I do not understand how the other reviews had such a bad experience. We love it so much we will definitely return to try more dishes. The service was excellent. We had more than 2 servers at all times. They were VERY polite and engaged in fun chit chat. The food was delicious. We had the zucchini fritters, pita, meat skewers, spanakopita & the lamb shoulder. Way too much food but we knew that since we wanted to sample the dishes. We took the leftovers and have been enjoying them daily. So overall we highly recommend this restaurant. DO NOT go by the previous reviews.
Really poor service from both the waiters and the sommelier. The sommelier omitted to pour all glasses. The waiters told us to move items on the table, rather than asked us to do so, to enable plates to be placed down. Really slow service eventhough largely empty. No where as precessional as the usual Alpha and the food wasn’t as good.
Food was excellent,, slow cooked lamb shoulder is special. Service was very good
Wasn’t the usual Alpha standard ..food generally lacked flavour the signature dish
Lamb shoulder dry and tough..
Pros - the view
Cons - the servers, and the foods.
The servers seem unwilling to serve people and are very rude.
