I came across Almost Famous when searching for somewhere to eat in Manchester ahead of the Stereophonics gig. Reviews were good so our expectations were relatively high - we were not disappointed! The food was all served piping hot and was very tasty. The service was also of a VERY high standard. Our server was called Olive - she was fantastic! Nothing was too much trouble, always smiling and happy to help and things just happened - drinks spotted empty and orders taken, napkins replenished etc - really good!
We were very happy with every aspect of our visit and would not hesitate to recommend or return next time we are in town.
One thing to watch - we didn’t know where it was and there is only an A board outside so we missed it first time around the block - glad we found it!
Really nice food. Good service as they let is amend the booking and had no issues waiting for some of our party who turned up late
Chairs not very comfortable .. everything else was great
Relaxing and cosy atmosphere. Food and customer service was fantastic. Very interesting interior design and Christmas ceiling! We were there for a birthday celebration and everything ran smoothly. Sat on a large table but everyone still felt very close. More external signage would be helpful! A lot of stairs to climb.
Good burgers and good service. The toilets are a disgrace so some of our party wasn't happy and was worried about hygiene if the front of house was so bad.
The food was no where near normal standard. Burgers were over cooked and the chips were soooo salty we couldn't eat them. No waiting area when waiting for table. No signs to know where you need to go.
Overall experience was let down by the service. We were told that the kitchens had a problem so our food orders would be delayed. We asked whether anything could be offered to us as recompense against our wait and response from floor manager was that he hadn't eaten since 08:30am that morning ! I would have expected staff to at least say that our first drinks were on the house.
Took a while to take drinks order and getting attention of waiter was hard.
Amazing food and service! Highly recommended. Nice environment, very friendly staff.
Long wait for food that was good but not worth the wait for the price. One if our party had dietary requirements and informed the waiting staff but on 3 seperate occasions they failed to listen correctly and brought out food with sauce on. None of our burgers came out with the right fries leaving several people eating their burger completely before their fries arrived.
Amazing as always. Fantastic menu full of burgers and fries. Waitress great fun, ShindiggerIPA, table with a view of the old market.
Great food & service, excellent helpful staff. Painfully bad music. Ideal for the hard of hearing.
Excellent comfort food. Can’t fault it! We need to know why Michael Jackson is on the ceiling tho.
Great food, great ambience. Very pleased with the whole experience
Food was gorgeous. Music was a little too loud. Service was good through a busy Friday night. I'm going again in the future
All was very good one problem was the lift wasn’t working I have osteoarthritis and struggled with the meny stairs when I asked our waiter if lift was working her didn’t know and had to go and fine out how meny people would of struggled with the stairs
This place was filthy!
We felt uneasy eating here the cleanliness was poor!
Filthy toilets all sharing 1 dirty sink a mirror that wasn’t cleaned.
The table we sat at was dirty.
My glass had lipstick on the side (bright pink)
The food was actually nice just a shame it was so dirty.
Service was good.
The food is on another level but the service not so much. We were also charged for some “Nutella Fries” that we neither asked for nor received but we couldn’t really be bothered mentioning it because it was £4 between five of us and it had taken a while to get the bill in the first place.
Generally good, and the burger I had was certainly delicious, but when we went most of the draught beers weren't available. There is also no food besides chips suitable for those with egg allergies. I thought the menu was a little long considering hat most of the burgers looked very similar. I would either shorten it or make the burgers more different from each other (like include a chicken burger - that way there would be variety and someone with an egg allergy could eat something besides chips). Finally, I found my chips way too salty. It would have been nice to have an option for no/less salt.
Absolutely stunning food and was reasonably priced. Service was only marred by not being asked if we wanted more drinks but was great otherwise. Would recommend and dine here again. Thumbs up.
Pretty basic venue, friendly staff.
Even though the food was nice, £12 for a burger with no fries is a little over priced!
Their was eight of us but the food took about 45mins to arrive onnthe table.
Personally won't return but had to try it and see.
The service was terrible. One of the meals had to be sent back as it was well over cooked. Nowhere near as good as the great northern almost famous
We went to celebrate a birthday, and the food was incredible, fresh and delicious!!! Definitly go again even just for casual dining!
We went for my son's 17th birthday. We had a brilliant time and the food was lovely.
The place was really easy to find and the service was great, the servers were really nice and freindly there was a really nice selection of food and drink to choose from and really value for money was good considering portion size aha will definatly go again when next in manchester
