Took two tries to get steak correct.
Food tasted good but for $1,000 it better
Absolutely recommend Alexanders to anyone. Great atmosphere, waiters were on top of everything, very personable and helpful. I brought a couple clients for dinner and they absolutely were amazed by everything.
The service was exceptional. The food was spectacular. You definitely get more than what you pay for.
Amazing food (Ribeye chop, prime ribs, souffle) and amazing service!!
My rib-eye was great. The service was even better.
Great food, only surpassed by the exceptional service.
Much more expensive than competitor steak houses like Morton’s, the Palm, Fleming’s etc. but not nearly as good.
Great Anniversary Dinner
Service & ambiance were perfect. Lively but quiet & relaxing at the same time. Food was superb.
Filet was well prepared and excellent. Other sides likewise. Service provided by Jayse was outstanding. Very relaxed dining experience and highly recommended.
Excellent service, not loud at all, food was at a great temperature. Great birthday dinner experience.
The service was phenomenal. Everyone was knowledgeable about the food and pairings. We tried the tasting menu that introduced me to plates I wouldn’t have picked. Although pricy, the food was reasonably priced and there was an option to add other suggested ingredients such as caviar and shiga omhi wagyu for an additional price. My partner is a cheap foodie and he thought the food was phenomenal and well worth the price. My partner and I were on the keto diet and the food didn’t affect our ketosis state even after eating dessert!
The food was amazing and the service was excellent. A top notch dining experience from start to finish!
The 50 dollar corkage fee is outrageous and beyond all norms
They got the order wrong for one of us. and we had to wait 90 minutes to get our entre
They did attempt to correct the error by not charging for corkage and dessert
Birthday Dinner A5 Miyazaki Wagyu steak best steak I’ve had
I am very disappointed about the service and the quality of food there.
Overall the food and service were good however, in the middle of our meal we noticed that there was a large insect on the table cloth. We don’t know how long it had been there, if it was there because we were at a window table or if it was just bad cleaning but it gave us a scare. We moved to another table but the wait staff did not seem too fazed by it and immediately sat another couple at the same table. I would’ve liked to see the situation handled better, with more efforts to remove the insect but instead it was ignored the second it was out of sight. Aside from the handling of that situation the staff was friendly the entire night and the food was good.
Dishes were beautiful in their presentation. Wait staff was very attentive.
Awesome, great staff. Dessert was only okay though, can be better
Ambience was really nice It was delightful with a smiley faces of the servers was excellent food West delicious and they gave us a lot of complimentary from the chef and extra desserts after dessert about to take the picture of the last one my son loves the macaroons very much I love the cotton candy at the end highly recommended this space
I have never had such a small fish portion served to me as a main dish. There is more fish in a tiny sardine can then I received at Alexanders. my friend enjoyed his over-sized steak.
Service was excellent but I wont return as I left hungry - feeling as if I had an appetizer and little else.
Excellent food with perfect service!
One word: Flawless. The staff, the ambiance, and more importantly, the food, are all manicured goodness. 5 by 5.
Horrible service. Make sure to tell the server everything you don't want the menu. Because if you don't say you don't want it, they will give it to you and complain that you did not say you did not want it. Order bread 15 minutes before you arrive. Order wine but again make sure they know you do not want that wine. Fun to go over the bill with the manager to take off things you did not want but got anyway because you did not tell them that you didn't want it.
Nice atmosphere except for a few guests that strolled in dressed like they should be at a more casual place. The flavor of the steaks were good, but one was near raw, and the other had tendons or cartilage. The pork belly was way too fatty and the fried rice, very average.
Fairly pricey for what you get. But may be a great choice for celebrations and special occasions
With Ruth Chris around the corner and the Chophouse within a couple of miles, I can see absolutely no reason to waste ones money here!
The service was great!
I have eaten better quality and better cooked prime rib when I was younger and went to sizzlers.
The scallop appetizer was a large scallop shell with half a scallop sliced into 5 slivers with a caviar garnish. The jalapeño slices and their juice totally obliterated all any taste.
My wife’s sea bass was two thin pieces that together were the size of a 3”x5” index card. This also had the taste masked by too much of a too strong sauce.
The three breads were very good. Two of the three butters were quite tasty. The third was blended with pan drippings and tasted like old beef grease.
For dessert we had two pieces of chocolate and two finger size fruit tarts. Both were very good.
The meal was finished off with a cone of cotton candy. I have never had the desire to eat cotton candy before. I ate it for the first time in my life since I was still quite hungry and really enjoyed it.
We paid with a gift card that I received as a present and I still felt ripped off even though it was no money out of my pocket.
Of course the substantial tip did come out of my pocket but the service was worth a good tip.
My favorite place to go eat with girlfriend
Had the tasting menu with Japanese Wagyu which was exceptional. This was a very memorable dining experience with fantastic service
Great dinner and loved the cotton candy at the end of the meal
Alexander's is a great place for a special occasion dinner.
We have been dining at Alexander’s since they first opened and made it our go to restaurant for many special occasions. We have always been warmly greeted and experienced impeccable service, unfortunately this was not the case for this visit. While the service was not bad, it did not live up to our previous dining experiences.
The top of the list when it comes to a steakhouse. The food is fabulous and the service is the best in the business. This is pricey but for a special occasion you can't do better. Sure to impress whomever you take there to dine. If you are celebrating something, let them know and a few wonderful extras will be included in your experience.
Our waiter Frederic was outstanding. The menu was interesting for a steak house.
The service was super slow for its price. Pretty disappointed.
Our server was the BEST.
Enjoyed our first visit at Alexander Steakhouse especially the lovely service from Chai. Love the fact that the restaurant also served complimentary aperitif with amuse-bouches. We had the organic salad with Alaskan king crab which was delicate, delicious and shareable. My fiancé had the sea bass and I ordered the Kansas City aged steak: A little surf and turf between us. Although I have to say my heart was definitely leaning toward steak....steakhouse, right?! The sea bass was nicely presented (we do eat with our eyes first), and perfect if one wants a lighter fare especially compared to my 20-ounce aged steak! While he enjoyed the sea bass, luckily I shared a 1/3 of my steak. The aged steak was tender and more flavorful toward the outer portion. The mushrooms were really good choice — absolutely deliciously. I typically don’t part take in dessert so I didn’t have any of my fiancé’s apple crumble cake with spiced ice cream...until our server brought out petite sized chocolates and meringues along with cherry flavored cotton candy! Just delightful little treats made by their pastry chef. These little touches just rounded out our experience at Alexander’s and made the evening delightful!
Food was subpar. Steaks were OK (but you shouldn't eat a $50-$60 OK steak). Seabass was awful, and sides were meh. Save your $ and go to any other steakhouse in Pasadena.
We went on a Saturday night based on a friends recommendation of the restaurant. Overall it was an okay experience. We were seated next to a loud table that were using curse words in every sentence of their conversation. None of the staff did anything about it, which was not the experience we were hoping for for our first time and the overall price we paid. We had ordered the Miyazaki A5 Wagyu and the prime rib. The quality of the Wagyu was good with the first couple of bites but it got cold fast since it was served on a cold plate. I was not impressed with the prime rib at all, very average tasting for a steakhouse. The only redeeming quality would be the service, our waiter was very at tentative and checked on us through the night.
Social was in a nice bar with great service. Hamachi shots were delicious. The potato croquettes were super light and crispy. Bartender was very nice. Dinner was excellent. Try the cauliflower and the fried rice, they have an Asian twist. The steaks were cooked perfectly and there was enough to take home. Wine is a bit overpriced. Highly recommend
The service was atrocious and they insisted on playing crappy 1980s rock music as loudly as possible. If you wear a mullet, this place is for you.
