Alden and Harlow
While reservations are strongly suggested, we also save a portion of the dining room and bar for walk-ins in the event that your request cannot be accommodated. So please, come on in!
Parties of more than 8, please call to make a reservation.
We had a reservation and were directed to our table where we waited for over 20 minutes and no one ever came to get our order or anything. Very disappointed
Fine but nothing special. Thought the food was a bit heavy/oily/greasy. Beautiful presentation of dishes though and creative menu.
Went there for Valentines day and the food was amazing! Loved the atmosphere and the service, too. When I went to pay, the gift card I had received for Christmas did not work. I complain to the manager, but to no avail oh, they did not give me credit for the gift card and told me that if I had the receipt they could look into it. Who keeps the receipt, right?
Anyway, I spoke to my sister that gave me the gift card and she explained to me that when she originally ordered the gift card they sent her a blank one. She went on to say that they corrected the situation and sent her a second one oh, but that she gave me that empty one for Christmas.
I went again the other day to use the card and was treated again with wonderful service and delicious food. I told the manager about the issue that we had with the card and she took really good care of us, knocking her bill almost in half! I highly recommend this place, when all this Corona stuff is behind us I recommend that you give it a try:-)
Food is always great and different, given the rotating menu. Cocktails also don't disappoint. The staff is super friendly and happy to make recommendations. Would definitely recommend.
A group of 6 of us had dinner on a Saturday night. We had great service with the waitress checking in frequently. One member of our party has a serious legume/nut allergy and the restaurant did a great job of modifying, where possible, and being very clear which dishes that person could not eat. Everything was delicious, including the cocktails. I had a creative cocktail with Swiss Chard that while tasting "green" was also very flavorful and not bitter.
Wouldn't recommend coming here hungry or you'll be spending quite a bit of money. The "small/medium" plates situation is less than ideal and you never know actually how much food will be on the plate. The plates themselves are also quite costly for the amount of food.
On the other hand the cocktails themselves were pretty good and creative. Would honestly come here for just drinks and get a large pretzel at Beat Brew Hall afterwards.
Amazing service and amazing food, consistently great!!!
A great dining experience regarding food and service. I found it to be a bit loud.
I enjoyed my experience, even though I was not marked as 'attended' through my reservation which caused a bit of a hick-up with OpenTable. But nice restaurant overall.
Great food and service
Great date night spot! Food was on point and service was great and very knowledgeable of the menu down to the spice details!
The secret, and super secret burgers were available and quite good although somewhat overcooked. The toppings were unique and delicious. This restaurant is very unusual in that most dishes are intended for sharing, like at a Chinese Restaurant. We loved the Chicken nuggets, and the potato dish. The cornmeal pancakes were like a dessert and very filling. One of our party loved the smoky pasta, the rest of us not so much. The cocktails were unique and delicious. The atmosphere was our favorite thing - it's a great place to talk and catch up with family and friends. Very comfortable and accessible.
Service was great and the variety of small plates was great too and all delicious.
The service was great! The menu is seasonal and very interesting, we had the chicken fried rabbit, tuna tartare, porcini mushrooms with polenta cakes, pancakes and Bolognese. Everything was fantastic. We wished we had more room as there were at least three other dishes we wanted to try. We try to eat at Alden and Harlow about 3-4 times a year and bring our out-of-town friends here.
The food was awfully salty and lacked flavor at times. The rest was quite good but food is always what you come for.
LOVE this restaurant, pancakes are a must. I’ve tried almost everything on the menu and it was all to die for. Highly recommend!
Not as great as I remembered, and so disappointed by that. Everything was generally ok, just not outstanding.
Impeccable service, great ambiance and food to die for. Pork belly and charred Brussels Sprouts anyone?
We had 2 items that were WAY to salty. Clearly overly added at the end. The waiter was rude and dismissive of our requests.
I have been to Alden and Harlow a number of times, but never for brunch. The brunch was somewhat disappointing. We had pancakes with cream cheese which were fine, but not particularly interesting, kale salad which was good but not unusual, cinnamon roll also good but not standout for $8. The bravas were excellent and the coffee was good. I will not be returning for brunch!
Place is fantastic. We were promptly seated upon arrival. The cocktails are all inventive, and very tasty. The food has a pretty wide range of options, and everything we had had a great presentation and was delivious. The food is all balanced tremendously, nothing felt to acidic/salty/etc. Service was great, and good ambiance. Favorite was probably the pork belly. Favorite cocktail - oat & about
Definitely check this one out.
The food was extremely good and there were plenty of options and substitutions available for my husband and me who don't eat meat. Such a treat of a meal!
Two thumbs up! If I had more thumbs I’d give more
The server and everybody who provided service to our table were amazing. They were very attentive, helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. The food was very good. We were glad to be there and will go back again.
Been to Alden & Harlow 4 times -- twice with 2 people total and twice with groups 4+. Overall, we felt like this restaurant is best suited for 2 people. The quality of the food is amazing (highly recommend the burrata and their bread and butter is to die for) but the portion sizes are really the right amount for 2-3 people. However, with 4+ people we always felt like we only got to have 1 bite of each dish so didn't have as good of an experience. If you are going with a big group, plan that each dish will feed 3 people, so order multiple of the same dish.
Food was good. Not great. Definitely a fun atmosphere, enjoyed the food more at their bar upstairs (Longfellow). Both fun places though and good drinks.
amazing food and a welcoming and affable waitstaff
Always a favorite but a few weeks ago we had a terrible experience where literally every dish was just awful, congealed, overcooked, clearly not delivered fresh, every taste of items we've had multiple times in the past was just off-- too salty, to vinegary, etc.. We almost didn't go back it was so bad but it had just been that one time so we gave it another shot and it was mostly back to it's usual standards (maybe they had a replacement cook that night?) although the brussel sprouts were way too salty. Everything else was great. They had a special for Valentines Day that was a lobster tail for $40. It was delicious, except it was so small, like the lobster tail from a chick lobster, my husband and I shared all dishes so for this $40 dish we each got two bites. Overall while the restaurant is pricy I've always thought it fair for the quality but this was really pushing the limit in terms of value/pricing.
Its simply the best, our go to spot for special occasions
Every time I book Alden and Harlow on Opentable I end up at the same crammed two top table in the bar area. Would be nice to receive a different table sometime.
The two-person tables are very close together so it felt a little squished and loud. They were also out of the secret burger by 6:15! It was Valentines day so it was crowded but they really should’ve prepared more burgers on Valentines day! Otherwise, the food was great and the waiter was very nice.
Fantastic meal with even better service! The chicken thigh torch on was a perfect blend of textures with amazing flavor.
Second visit , appreciated server explaining and suggestions.
Tequila cocktail was very good , extensive beer list.
Secret Hamburger was perfect.
Disappointing was chicken nuggets ( needed more dipping sauce, rather dry to us ) . The Valentine’s Day special dessert was mascarpone cheese cake with carmelized popcorn was a disappointment.
Food was overpriced and frankly not nearly as good as they think it is. Back room was incredibly noisy. Our server was friendly, warm and knowledgeable but that was the highlight of the experience.
My first visit last fall was great! The service was good and the food was really great. This time around I was disappointed in the food as the dishes did not live up to the standard we were expecting. Sorry, but this time around the flavors were nothing special. I will still recommend Alden and Harlow to friends because I liked it so much the first time. I hope that I will be pleasantly surprised the next time i visit.
Food was incredible!! Will be back!! Ambiance was perffect!
My friends had the special burger which they liked and I know is good. I had the kale salad very good and the clams which were ? The clams themselves were pretty good but the sauce? Could not figure out what was in the dense sauce.
We had a high top table which was not clear on our reservation. I did ask to be moved but the request could not be accommodated.
Excellent service from our server and other person.
Our server took the time to review everything on the menu (starring particulars) for one guest who was nervous about spicy items. We ordered 6 items for 3 women, which was more than filling. The Burrata was a particular standout, as were the Verrell Farm corn pancakes, although we managed to rave about every item. Cant't wait to return!
This place is special. They make the food they want to eat, and you'll want to too.
