Only 6 diners, including our table so it was difficult to rate the service and noise level. The food was beautifully prepared and presented.

Overall an underwhelming experience for the cost. We had the degustation - which was neither amazing nor terrible to begin with. There were perhaps one or two lovely dishes in the degustation but the main meat dish was inedible and terrible quality of meat. For the price tag, you could have a much more memorable and tasty experience in the CBD.
Took my bestie for his birthday dinner. We had the best time…. What a great experience at the restaurant and even at the underground bar. If we could pick one favorite dish, it would be the tooth fish. So yummy!!!!

Decent fine dining, but the service is definitely not matching with the price tag.
Firstly, the internal communication of this restaurant is terrible. I called to the reception, can we have the split bills on the night of the booking.? They said :”yeah sure just tell the waiter/waitress when you paid” However, on the night we paid the man turned into:”no no, we don't do split the bill, I give you an exception but you can not do it next time.” Me:??? If you don’t want customers split bills just said it in the phone. No need to bring unhappiness by the end of the dinner.
Secondly, they don’t notify customers the price/menu changed. When I booked it was 148pp truffle set menu. But when we arrived, the truffle set menu became 168pp.
The only the difference I remember the menu from the previous is they replace wagyu entree from Sydney oyster but increase the total price extra $20. We showed them the recipe from opentable. Then, the waiter said oh you may not have the lobster dish. The only thing in my head at that moment is I should have screenshot the menu when I booked. Anyway, the the owner came out gave the solution that we can remain at the same price but there was the only truffle on the steak dish.
It is nothing wrong how they set the menu price to 148 or 168. The problem is we didn't get any update from this restaurant.
That made me felt uncomfortable.

Akaito recent experience with the special truffle dinner exceeded my expectations. I loved every dish from presentation to the delicious taste my friends joined me to experience Akaito for the first time and absolutely loved everything. Ambience, food and service.

The restaurant looked beautiful itself while also having the wow factor of watching the chefs plating the dishes in front of you. Decided on the Kojin Set Menu to have a taste of their seasonal dishes because we had not dine here before and it was a great choice when you get overwhelmed with decisions at a new restaurant. The employees were friendly and professional guiding us with information about the dishes and drinks. The food itself on the menu was delicious and with 8 courses you truely tasted everything they had to offer for a reasonable price. Would recommend to anyone who loves a fine dining experience and a taste of Japanese modern cuisine. I look forward to coming back and going to their underground eatery and bar at the premise next time.
I absolutely loved my time at Akaiito and would definitely recommend dining here! It was such a unique experience, the food was to die for and the cocktails clearly mixed by an expert!
Great restaurant! We went there for our fifth anniversary, and while we would have preferred dinner - lunch was the only time we could do (with the bub at daycare). The staff got us a nice table, and were gracious in extending some of the ala carte menu for us. The lunch special was good though (we got one of the miso cod bento box - I'd rate it higher than the one we had at another famous chain). Will definitely come back for a date night, and I can't wait to try their tasting menu!
Using normal tuna pieces for a $30 ‘tuna belly tartare’, miss leading customers. The staff explain to me ‘tuna belly’ was a printing mistake and I been told that I should not expect that they serve tuna belly in tartare since the price was so cheap. Ordered 6 small dishes to share, and one dish was missing. We been waiting at least 40 minutes for our last dish. Which is a grilled pork belly, and I have left the food after I had one piece because the meat was terribly tough and chewy. My friend said his was even raw inside.
