Amazing wine list, food and service. We keep coming back again and again :)
What a great evening to visit Agostino for the first time - World Cup eve. We knew the Italians had won even before they had touched the pitch with their boots when we sat at the marble table set in the stylish, simple and mood lit ground floor.
(Note: the ceiling detail which is elegantly cheeky but very clever)
Although there was a large party that needed a lot of attention in the cellar, we were equally spoilt with service that provided thickly accented descriptions of the food, making ordering much easier and suited to our pallets.
BEST prosciutto EVER - salted persimmon and Fritto combo -Bellisimo
BEST score of the meal - Corzetti - rabbit & marjoram - OMG
BEST Dolce - home made Vinenetta - the bomb!
Thank you The Beautiful Game for Italy winning - and thank- you Melbourne for locking us in so we could enjoy Agostino!
A comprehensive selection of food and wine culminating in an exceptional dining experience
Fabulous Italian food, definitely recommend it. Love it.
The food was not as good as what I expected . If a restaurant is promoting the business as an Italian menu , then they should be cooking food with Italian flavours. Most of the food had no flavour and lack of salt . The artichoke and the so called very watery polenta was awful . That should be removed from the menu. My Negroni drink was served in a wine glass with a huge wedge of orange . The delivery of our order was extremely slow due to the fact that the kitchen was serving the casual cafe area and the Agostino restaurant . That is very wrong .
You pay more and have much less options for a quiete dining experience but the service was awful . The portions for the pasta and risotto were entree size at main meal prices .
Delicious italian in tasteful setting, excellent service, unusual music choices
Very limited choice of main course meals, especially for vegetarians. Meals are ultra small. The food was so heavily salted that it was bordering on inedible.
Visited because of a Broadsheet article. The waitress was unable to clearly communicate with us. It was very hard to understand her. The pasta was very overpriced for the portion size.
Lovely warm welcome from staff, amazing wine menu, non-alcoholic, and food options, delicious food, excellent service, great vibe. We love this place and will be back again and again :)
A perfect place for two or group of 4. Food delicious with great friendly service. All dishes designed to share, perfect portions. Highly recommended
Such a wonderful place to settle in for a cosy meal. Food was delicious, staff attentive and welcoming. Couldn’t be happier with our experience, will definitely be back for seconds.
Papadelle Pasta was good, wine list superb, pizza bread entree was so salty and almost inedible. Service and value wasn’t impressive, fairly disappointing.
Amazing food, fantastic service Awsome Wine. Everything was delightful and will definitely return.
Brilliant dining experience.
Order the calamari!
I'd recommend they increase the choices in ice cream (currently it's 2; vanilla and cantaloupe). Where's the chocolate guys?
Food, service and ambience were great for a relaxed get together with friends. Only nitpick would be that serving size could be bigger. Would go again
What a great dining experience. The pasta was absolutely incredible and the service was amazing. Would also highly recommend the chocolate tart
Incredible food, exceptional service and lively ambience. We will be returning!
Prompt and warm greeting friendly and knowledgeable staff. No delays to order and quick delivery of our orders
Welcomed by lovely staff, amazing food, beautiful wine. Will most certainly be returning :)
Great service and food, a good wine list just a little pricey.
Lovely food and outstanding service! Perfect for special occasions.
Our waiter, eloquent and knowledgeable, provided us outstanding service. The food was excellent, highly recommend the duck.
Can’t wait to return, food and service were fantastic.
Best night out in years: superb food, best wine list I’ve seen, and wonderful service. But for such a carefully considered enoteca, please turn the music off (or at least down). Everyone there last Saturday when we dined wanted to enjoy the food/wine, and talk. A bit hard when competing with the background din. Mentioned this to the waitress who apologised, but as I said to her, she doesn’t determine these things. Still, overall, a great night. Definitely coming back. If only for the octopus with peach!
A good Italian offering in the restaurant scene. Attentive, professional service in an appealing environment.
Being kept waiting 20minutes past our booking time was not a good start. The service was poor from start to finish and slow. Having started late we also then had to wait ages for our meals, so we were very hungry. The food was good but not great. The pasta was the best bit, delicious but the serves are too small. Will not be back.
Our experience was basically a tester to see if we could book a future birthday and was not disappointed!
Melita was so helpful and informative in almost every facet of our experience (we even got to check the private function which is another experience in itself)
And the food is delicious! Look ... just go book a table and give it a try, won’t be disappointed!
had a wonderful evening. The food was excellent - but it tipped into 5 star territory with the wonderful staff and the exceptionally good (and reasonable) sommelier.
Although good service was not impressed with menu selections or the quality of the dishes. The deli menu appears to be more “Italian” than Agistono
Highly recommend. Cozy ambience perfect for date night.
Beautiful food well served in a lovely ambient atmosphere
Loved the food and ambiance. Would definitely return
My new favourite restaurant!
Divine oysters, fabulous wine selection and beautifully cooked and presented mains and entrees.
So happy I found Agostino
Fantastic food and venue for a long weekday lunch.
Everything is right here. Calm but warm ambience, truly excellent food, a wine list that is well worth probing deeply, and and floor staff who redefine the word hospitality - professional, knowledgeable, and fun!
Excellent food and service. Highly recommend. I am Italian and the food was amazing. We will be back.
A refreshingly quiet dining experience.
Charming small restaurant.
The creme caramel was fantastic! I would go back just for that.
Love this place and rooftop. Food was on point and the service guy was awesome and very engaging!
Will keep coming back :)
Very expensive for what was essentially a bowl of pasta. I think I will ask them to double check the bill as the more I think about it the more I think there was a mistake. Our waitress was wonderful but the male wine waiter was quite rude.
