A wonderful setting and very attentive, helpful staff.
My Fiancée and I booked Afternoon Tea here to mark our anniversary and we did not regret it! Jacob was an amazing service to us throughout our visit and became a highlight of the day. A big thank you to Jacob and the team for giving us a special day.
I have had many 5* Afternoon- Tea Experiences and Cafe Royal is definitely one of the best experiences I have had. The unmatched service accompanied with the elegant pianist was perfect.
Also - I called in advance to request a halal menu which they were happy to provide. A big plus for those who require it! It is the first afternoon tea where I have been able to request this and still receive an extensive menu.
Many thanks again and we hope to visit again in the New Year!
I absolutely love the Oscar Wilde bar at hotel cafe Royal would 100% recommend afternoon tea , I cant wait to able to go back!
A wonderful cosy yet elegant room which perfectly suited the charm of its name. The afternoon tea was varied yet traditional with lovely extra touches. The service was impeccable and all the staff were exceedingly amiable.
Thank you!
The beat afternoon tea experience I have ever had. Amazing service, beautiful room and tasty food.
Wow.we had a brilliant afternoon tea at the oscar wilde lounge,Hotel Cafe Royal.the place is opulent, romantic and felt we are treated as royals and important.the service, tea, cake and sandwiches and presentation are spot on.my wife, and my 2 american friends were really please happy and overwhelmed.we all love it
It was a beautiful experience and we would certainly come back. The only note is that we were disappointed by the non-dairy sandwich selection as this was simply the original filling choice + margerine on one type of bread... Didn't taste very good at all! Apart from the lack of innovation in alternative menus, it was perfect.
It was a wonderful experience, very peaceful and quiet, but with a gentleman playing a piano during afternoon tea. The cakes were so delicious and perfect, we ended up taking our cakes home but were provided with a wonderful cake box . Just a perfect afternoon
I loved the food and the whole experience, from the waiter welcoming me by name when he brought our tea menus, to the gold and mirrored decor and the excellent pianist. The sandwiches were very tasty and I loved the charcoal bread used for one. The scones were warm and the cakes were most definitly the best ive had at an afternoon tea. Also the gluten free afternoon tea was delicious. We could have had more but we went away very full as it was and with a carry out! I thought it very well priced and we plan to return for my birthday.
We enjoyed our tea, the staff were friendly and helpful, the sandwiches were good but the cream for the scones was too hard to spread and the cakes more sweet than flavoursome.
Gorgeous place to sit, relax and enjoy the lovely pianist playing, the impeccable service and delicious food.
After reading reviews about multiple afternoon tea spots, I decided to go with this one. They were very accommodating when we first had to make a change to the reservation and then arrived an hour early since we were running out and ab
We had a superb time, excellent service & glorious food all set in a stunning room.
An absolutely lovely place to have afternoon tea. We went to celebrate my mother's 70th Birthday and we couldn't have picked a more perfect venue. The staff were all amazing, the Oscar Wilde lounge itself was beautiful, the ambience was perfect with a piano player discreetly paying in the background and the food and tea were really good and beyond expectations. I would highly recommend this as a place to have afternoon tea if you're looking for a special experience.
Fantastic service set in an exquisite setting. From start to finish the attention to detail was excellent. Delicious food, verve cliquot champagne and delicious choice of teas beautifully served and presented just like the food. Exceeded our expectations in every way- we even were offered top ups on more food which we didn’t expect as there was sufficient amounts - we took a doggy bag away with us. A pianist played beautifully in the background. I think on reflection the service was part of the highlight, they made us feel so special and welcome and were very attentive but in no way intrusive. The only downside was that one group of visitors did not observe the dress code One of whom day in a woolly hat fiddling with their phone and I felt that was disrespectful to the venue and other guests that made the effort.
I would highly recommend the experience- much better than most afternoon tea experiences in London.
Fabulous Afternoon Tea, thank you. If anything the piano music, although excellent, was slightly too loud. But overall, wonderful.
An amazing afternoon spent with family for my wife's 50th
We very much enjoyed afternoon tea at the Oscar Wilde Bar. The food was lovely and the range of different kinds of teas very vast; we were quite happy with four different kinds of black and herbal teas, kindly recommended to us by the friendly and helpful staff. The only tiny hiccup was that the tea got cold rather quickly in the beautiful china pots.
An absolute highlight of our afternoon tea experience at the Oscar Wilde Bar was the sublime music performed by Guiseppe, an exceptional pianist.
His repertoire covers practically everything, from classical music to contemporary hits, from film music to Neapolitan folk songs.
Paying more for the location than than the food . The toilets weren’t particularly great either. Used towels on the floor and when using the end basin in the main bathroom off of the front lobby the door hits you when someone walks in .
A lovely afternoon spent having tea to celebrate a 60th birthday. Staff very friendly and professional. Surrounded by luxury and history. Worth a visit.
Great music, service, food and tea. Beautiful surroundings. Amazing experience.
A beautiful venue for a one off high tea experience.
We were served so well and kindly by Sani our waitress.
Very disappointing sandwiches was very poor the only thing we enjoyed was the scones and tea waste of money
The room is a beautiful hall of mirrors, the service staff gives you a bit of Queen Victoria's favorites, and because it's a smaller area than many hotel teas, you feel calm, appreciated and pampered. And while it was not the very best scone I've ever had (but quite good), the food was delightful and presented beautifully. They offer a lovely (but not overwhelming) choice of teas, too.
Beautiful venue with lovely waiting staff. The food was delicious and the chocolates and candle for all the birthday guys and gals was so sweet. It was much better than I expected and we will go again for another celebration.
The final price was almost double the advertised price. We were charged for water! Unheard of at any other afternoon tea venues that I’ve attended .....and I’ve been to many .....’top up’ of champagne was offered and accepted but there was no indication that there was a charge for this. Usually extras are offered at no further price. VAT was added on top of the bill ....again VERY unusual. Service charge was added. I’ve not experienced that at hotels before. Altogether we were quite shocked and will not be recommending or returning.
Afternoon tea was very good only complaint was the piano was quite loud.
Too expensive ! The sandwiches are of mediocre quality. You would expect something amazing to match the surroundings.
The food unfortunately did not live up to my expectation .
The presentation of savoury part was so bland . The sandwiches were as if bought from a supermarket .
Lovely setting, impeccable service and delicious food. I especially enjoyed the live piano music and that the tea, food etc were bottomless. Mind you one serving was plenty and I have no idea how anyone managed to tuck in to extra.
Exceptional service and food. It made my trip to London even more special. Great value!
Salubrious venue, superb service from all staff and fantastic food 10/10
Amazing. Afternoon tea was really special and so much food! Loved it!
Treated mum and guests to afternoon tea before Cirque du Soleil. It was a beautiful experience and well worth the treat!
I love their seasonal menus! & The valentine's day one was so well designed and yet delicious, it really made me feel special about the day!
The service team was full of energy and courtesy. The pianist played songs that all tailored to the theme of valentine's day, I loved it!!
Tea at Oscar Wilde’s was the best part of my week in London . Every thing was perfect ! It was a true treat and a happy time I will always treasure . The staff especially our precious server Holly were better than wonderful !
Outstanding service in an atmospheric location reminiscent of a bygone age of dining
Absolutely first class way to spend Valentine’s Day with my Husband. It was our First time in the Oscar Wilde lounge and the staff went out of their way to make you feel special. Menu choice was fantastic and the Valentine cakes which accompanied the Afternoon tea were exquisite. The pianist playing in the background was also a nice touch to a great romantic Valentines Afternoon tea.
Valentine’s Day celebration.
We were celebrating a birthday and were surprised when a cable was brought to our table and the pianist played 'Happy Birthday'. Very thoughful. We will be having afternoon tea again in the not too distant future.
