Leo our waiter was superb !!! My steak was cooked perfectly … medium well is the way to go and the Brussel sprouts are marvelous .
And again , Leo made the evening special !
We were celebrating a milestone (90th) birthday. Ada's provided champagne to start and a dessert to split. The GM came over to congratulate my husband. The server was attentive throughout. Both meals were good. It was a miserable rainy day and we had debated about whether we really wanted to come out in that weather, but Ada's made it a special day for us and we appreciate it.
Outstanding food, service, and ambiance. Our waitress, Michelle and the rest of Ada’s staff were exceptionally professional, responsive, and kind when we lingered over coffee and dessert. Many thanks for an extraordinary and wonderful dining experience in a beautiful setting overlooking the water!
Great service …. Lovely setting …. Food is good . A bit loud but otherwise very nice
Light airy environment. Entry was mostly excellent. Sides were not to good.
Octopus appetizer is one of best ever. We all were very happy with our meals
The main issue is ever time I order a beer it’s dead by the time I get my beer. I would like a beer with the head still on it. I want my beer as it’s poured. Please top up a beer and don’t deliver it without a head. A bar person or server should never deliver a beer that’s been sitting on the bar waiting.
Great birthday lunch. We had the best table in the house with a wonderful view, we also had the nicest attentive waiter. I highly recommend this mew restaurant in our home town.
We chose Ada's on the River for lunch to celebrate our wedding anniversary. It was the perfect choice. We sat outside to enjoy the river view; a patio umbrella provided us with shade; and there was a mild breeze to keep us cool. The food was excellent; the crab cake - made with large, sweet jumbo lump crab meat - was the best crab cake we have had ANYWHERE. The seared tuna appetizer, the honey glazed carrots and the chocolate souffle were all terrific. Our server - Eduardo - was exceptionally personable. We look forward to returning for more equally memorable meals at Ada's.
First time there. Food was great. Our server kinda forgot about us after the food was delivered.
GREAT MENU FOOD AND SERVICE. AND LOCATION. FEELS REFRESHING AND FAMILIAR AT THE SAME TIME
ADAs never disappoints. The food, drinks, service, and atmosphere are always excellent. Highly recommend for special meals out.
wonderful food and amazing location. We'll be back!
Arrived for dinner reservation scheduled for 3 pm and was told that dinner didn't start until 4 pm. Explained that the online reservation had dinner at 3pm. Informed us that the time was changed. Gave us complimentary food to hold us over. Outstanding customer service!!!!
Although Ada's was helpful in accommodating a larger party last-minute, the food, service, and accommodations/setting were poor to fair overall. In particular: (1) the steak and burger we ordered was nearly raw (we had ordered them medium-rare); (2) we never received the bread basket we ordered (yet it appeared on the check at the end of the meal); (3) we ordered "scrambled" eggs, yet the gave us "sunnyside up" eggs (which they then brought back to the kitchen, and returned to us very runny and unseasoned; (4) we had to get up from the table to request certain condiments because our waiter was largely absent; (5) we had to use a butter knife to cut the steak, as no steak knife was offered/provided (and we couldn't ask because our waiter was largely absent); and (6) they placed us in an area of the restaurant that was very hot (it was over 90 degrees outside, but the air conditioning did not seem to adequately reach our table/section. Overall a very poor experience. We had expected more given all the hype and the cost/price. Unfortunately, we will not be recommending this to any of our friends/acquaintances.
Absolutely fabulous! One of the best brunch and dinner spots in the DC Area. The menu is perfect in size and selection. The food is prepared to perfection also. The location is excellent for spring, summer and fall.
Food was scrumptious. Gorgeous view of the river. Beautiful interior. Service was a bit slow, but the place was packed.
It was my first time dining out at a restaurant since covid began.
Perfect day sunny and warm, we sat outside by the water with a pleasant breezeand a great view.
The waitress timing was impeccable, she seemed to know when we wanted something and was very accommodating and pleasant.
The food selection for brunch was perfect. I have the lobster omelet that was very tasty, I would highly recommend it. We enbibed in some of the unique and very tasty drinks.
All and all an A+ for the day. Thank you Ada's for making the day a memorable one for my first meal out in a longggg time.
Our server wasn’t very friendly, which was disappointing.
Really great experience, Allison the bartender was awesome
Excellent service and food
First, the river view is lovely. We hoped to sit outside, but the staff said the chairs at the outdoor tables were wet (though there were two tables with people at them) so we took a table inside. It was nice, the music was a little genetic, lots of servers made it feel bustling. Food was good. Beet and apple salad was really terrific, fires were reminiscent of Boardwalk fires in that they were heavy and greasy and lacked crunch. Schnitzel was good, but tough. Chicken sandwich was good, but the chicken was a little pink and the plate was overloaded by more of those fries. Shrimp and avocado salad was good, but the shrimp were not cooked through and they were cold. Beignets were fantastic. I'd go back, but would try for a table at the Barda bar area on the water. And I'd skip the fries.
I’ve heard so many great things and was a little disappointed. We went for lunch, so maybe dinner is a better time to go. We sat outside and the location and atmosphere are great, but food was just OK.
Leo provided great service! Meals were excellent. Wonderful night. Crab cake, oyster mushrooms, shrimp salad, ribeye all stood out.
Good food, great views, comfortable, great service.
Ada’s did not live up to the rave review in the Washington Post. The Apple and Beet salad was tasty, but the mustard base was unnecessary. The Belgian Endive salad lost much of the special endive taste by being shaved and mixed with too many other salads. Belgian endive does best with a vinaigrette and Green Goddess detracts from the crunchy, slightly bitter taste. The Sword Fish was acceptable, but bland. The Lasagna with wild mushrooms was tasty, but the smoke detracted from the Mozzarella. The beignets for desert saved the day and were crunchy and delicious.
My daughter treated me to lunch at Ada's for my birthday. All of the staff were welcoming and helpful, but we particularly want to commend our waiter, Dino, who made us feel special. His menu recommendations were spot on and his attentiveness throughout the meal was greatly appreciated. We look forward to a return visit, this time for dinner.
Dino was a fantastic server! He was very kind and great with our kids.
wonderful view, great food and service. the chocolate soufflé is worth the wait!
Thank you for your review Philip.
Excellent food and service, truly a delightful night. We will definitely be back. Get the bread.
This was my third visit. The food quality is going down hill! Pick it up please! This will turn into a drinks only spot in the future.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention Crystal. We would like to apologize for the food quality not being consistent as we take great pride in making sure our guests leave more than satisfied. We will inform management and our chefs of this in order to improve and continue to provide excellence.
On Memorial Day Monday afternoon, we ate outside and selected some old favorites with really interesting sides (the Crab Mac&Cheese and the Charred Cauliflower were amazing!). The riverfront was remarkably energetic (given the waining pandemic) with people out enjoying the day!
It was a very busy holiday and the place was packed so service was a bit slow, but we really enjoyed our meals and the environment and look forward to going back again soon. I had the wood fired steak salad and it was delicious, but the mac and cheese is to die for. Others had the pork schnitzel and the crab cake salad and got very good reviews. Go early so that you can grab a table outdoors.
Great food. Service was pretty slow and there were tables that received their appetizers and meals before we did (that were seated 45 minutes after we were). We discussed with the manager and they fixed the issue immediately. We will definitely return.
Very disappointing! I was very excited to try this restaurant but it ended up being a big disappointment. The service was very slow and it took forever for the server to get our orders and for the food to get ready. When the food finally came, it was very bland and lukewarm. The location is great and the restaurant is beautiful, but the food wasn’t tasty or enjoyable. May give it another try and hope I have a different experience.
We went for lunch. The view is very pretty on the water, but the food was just ok. No one raved about it but no one hated it either. I don’t expect to be back.
Thank you for reviewing our restaurant. We'd like to apologize for our food being just ok and not outstanding. We hope you give us another chance to turn your experience around.
The food was absolutely excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed the ambiance and being located right along the Potomac River. It was a great overall experience and I would highly recommend.
