Our proteins are sustainably sourced and in the most part, secondary cuts cooked slowly to release flavour. We bring this together on the plate to celebrate the ingredients, in a simple, heartfelt way.
The only thing i wasn't a fan of is that with so many families and young children now attending the venue especially in the outdoor section it sounded a little like a playground outside and when we walked in it took a long time for someone to serve us at the outside bar and noticed several tables were not cleared...i arrived 2pm so in fairness you may of been short staffed or i came end of a huge rush...loved the food and service inside the restaurant
Excellent dining experience here for my partner's birthday. Food was cooked to perfection & service was prompt and friendly. Would highly recommend!
Just the over all finesse and quality of food was disappointing and a let down taste wise.
Beautiful place but the food is overpriced and horrible.
Beautiful dinner! We came to eat 'mid week feast' which is set 3 course menu, however, due to misinformation it turned out when we got there they only have meat options (we're vegetarians). The waiter was really nice and said the chef will be happy to prepare vegetarian options for us anyway. We settled down for a la carte options and they were all beautiful.
Had focaccia - which was just average and probably the most plain thing we had this evening, roasted pumpkin with goat cheese - so good!, mushroom Mafalda pasta - to die for, pumpkin gnocchi - really tasty, and then tiramisu and cannoli for desert - both were to die for! Some recommend wines in the side, very tasty although not too memorable.
All in all, very good service and tasty food!
Fantastic atmosphere and fabulous food, I would highly recommend the acres for any occasion, 10 / 10 ✔️
A wonderful setting in the heart of Camperdown. Big bright and airy restaurant with additional large outdoor space with heaters. Buzzing restaurant for Sunday lunch with very friendly staff and a tasty looking menu. A little disappointed with our starters - the salami plate and a baked cheese that was lacking in taste, but the mains of lamb ragout pasta and the gnocchi with pumpkin and chilli were excellent. Coffee was good but lukewarm at best - a pet hate but it wont stop us returning.
Food, ambience, noise level all good. Service initially very good but overall very poor. Told very dismissively that the wait person was new and ‘didn’t know the ways of the acre’ when we asked for serving spoons. Waitress was annoyed when we wanted to hold onto our wine glasses. Not offered dessert or coffee and insulted when we complained. I won’t be back to the dining room. I have had many good experiences in the self-serve area so will return there again.
We absolutely loved it :)
We will definitely be returning.
Great food - just obviously got there at a busy time as we needed to make a big effort to be served, then had to chase our drinks order, and had to request the plates be cleared. We even had to chase up to be able to pay the bill after it arrived.
Disappointing Italian food. Focaccia was dry and heavy and my gnocchi was underwhelming. I love the style of this place and always get excited to eat here, but it never wows me. I was really excited about the Italian pop up for my birfy lunch but the bread says it all. Very average, especially for the price. And I was hoping for more seafood options on the menu. Should have gone to egg, flour, water!
Brilliant menu & staff. Stunning decor and table share options! Beautifully kitted bar and charming dessert trolley with Gluten free options! Fantastic coffee and on street parking! a gem! Perfect for groups!
Food is always good. However, this time the porchetta was smaller than before. Trout was excellent. The desert trolley offered a good choice.
Unfortunately this time the service was a bit relaxed. Drinks arrived quite slowly after ordering.
Waitress gave us desert menus ,came back after short time and asked “Do you want anything” bluntly.
Perhaps staff were short but it wasn’t particularly busy so should have been a bit better for the money.
My vegan daughter was so well catered for. It was no hassle at all for the staff and she had plenty of menu items to choose from and some were easily modified. The rest of the meat eaters at the table were equally happy. A lovely afternoon with super friendly staff.
We had a fantastic family gathering to celebrate mum’s 70th birthday at the Acre. Special thanks to service waitress Ellie she is very attentive with lovely smile. We will definitely return for our next visit.
Thank you to be part of our great memories.
Everything was great, except it did take a very long time to receive our drink order.
Loved the lamb shoulder which fell off the bone and had a melt in your mouth texture. The brussel sprouts were a surprise winner.
I wasn’t sure I had made the right choice to book a table inside, as it was a beautiful winters day. The restaurant was very busy and there was great vibe around the room. It didn’t feel stuffy or even that we were inside at all. There’s a grey view of the grounds from around the restaurant and the decor is spot on.
The food was great! It was just myself and a friend so we chose to get a few of their ‘Primi’ plates so that we could taste a bit of everything. We also shared a few bottles of Rosè, which scarily went down way too easily.
The service was also great! We definitely stayed our welcome as we were having such a great time. The day turned into night way too quickly but none of the staff seemed to mind.
My in-laws are coming out from the UK for Xmas and I already know I’ll be booking a table here again, if not before.
A great restaurant and a great experience 👍🏽
A really nice dining experience even though a few dishes fell a little short considering their price. The lamb shoulder was delivered cold but this was rectified immediately and was delicious. The eggplant parmigiana wasn't particularly nice but the brussel sprouts were fantastic. Great, attentive service with an exceptional dessert trolley. I will go back.
Eating at Acre Eatery is a pleasure. I brought friends who are visiting from Tasmania and they thoroughly enjoyed themselves too. Venison carpaccio was special - not something found at any restaurant. Porchetta was just right with the crispy skin. Last but not least - Affogato was one of the best we've had. So all in all I highly recommend Acre Eatery to anyone who would like a memorable meal.
Absolutely fantastic meal. Food was delicious, the restaurant itself was gorgeous and the dessert cart was an absolute fan favourite.
Lovely share plates, fresh farm to table meats that were really well cooked. Could have been seasoned a bit better.
Great food, wonderful drinks. Whilst the steak and lasagna we ordered tasted great, both dishes could have come out a bit warmer. Service was a bit slow and was hard to flag down the waiters - they seem preoccupied. Overall, it was a wonderful space to enjoy a nice dinner.
Very busy, so took 25 minutes after we were seated to even order our drinks. But other then that very good experience.
Great atmosphere, clean and delicious food. I'd highly recommend this place
I would most definitely recommend The Acre to anyone.
My only disappointment was the service. We were a table of seven, clearly going to spend quite a bit of money. We waited numerous times for service that should have been a step ahead of us.
Food was great!
This is the third time we have had our directors dinner after a long day of meetings and the quality of food and service never diminishes. Staff are helpful and the food is to die for.
The service was an improvement over previous visits. Lovely and attentive staff. The food as usual was excellent. The Italian special is a real bargain!
Fantastic service and great food! The Italian special set menu was delicious and servings were generous and very filling. Will definitely come back!
All staff from Greeting (Gregorious) to Leaving were warm, welcoming and exceptional in their care for our table (Laura).
Starting with antipasti (calamari fritti- octopus was Slightly rubbery yet flavoursome with the sweet citrus aioli combined with the mild pepper batter, I thoroughly enjoyed!).
Primi ( Hand made Gnocchi would have been perfect but from the texture maybe the pan was a little too hot when tossed resulting in a more gum like product.
The DUCK LASAGNA was absolutely astounding, every moment of this dish was mouthwatering from start to finish, Well done to the Chef.)
Secondi (Lamb shoulder to share, Again another outstanding piece from this months Italian menu (O.B^duck lasagna) the meat slipping off the bone effortlessly, moist with just the right amount of seasoning and potatoes although I now wish I had requested something to pair with it).
Dessert (Citrus filled Cannoli/Chocolate torte from the daily selection Trolly both decadent and rich in texture, wonderful finishers.
Buttermilk Panna Cotta with Stewed Rhubarb- The Panna Cotta was smooth almost melting in the mouth I loved the structure no faults at all But the stewed Rhubarb was not enjoyable to my pallet at all sadly, being a big fan of rhubarb the flavour was not what I had in mind, nearly causing me to gag at the swallow, Dragging the plate down drastically.)
Definitely returning to the Acre Eatery, deeply satisfied and longing for more.
The pasta was flavourless, steak burnt and service chaotic.
We got there early and had a few drinks before dinner. The whole place is gorgeous, the drinks were beautiful, the food was delicious, the staff were excellent! I would recommend anytime! We all had such a wonderful night.
Acre is always a bit of a hit and miss. I went with a group of friends this time around for the Italian pop up and we weren't entirely impressed. It took a while for entrées to come out, and even longer for the mains. Some items off the menu were decent - including the baked cheese, duck lasagna, and the gnocchi. However, the focaccia was dense and tasted like a savoury cake, and the other pastas, brussels sprouts, and eggplant parmigiana were a little bland and could've done with some extra flavouring (we added extra parmesan but it didn't make too much of a difference). We decided to skip the dessert tray after experiencing the disappointing mains. I don't think we will be returning.
The food and service were great. Cant speak highly enough of our server (I've forgotten her name) and the atmosphere and location were perfect. Will definitely be going back
Acre is such a stand out restaurant; the food never disappoints just exceeds expectations, the service and the surrounds are always welcoming, all creating the memorable atmosphere which makes you simply need to return.
The truffle degustation menu was fresh and original, the wines were delicious and the staff couldn't be more friendly and helpful. We'll be back.
Would have been another enjoyable trip to the Acre if it wasn’t for the mix up with one of the orders.
I give that it was a busy service but to the girl who plonked a dish at our table with no explanation and walked off ...... thanks.
In doing so it caused much confusion.
One of our guests ate alone while we all waited for our orders to arrive.
Then it was she who sat while we ate.
A word of praise to our original server who explained she did put the order through as it was requested.
No fault of hers at all and the explanation was greatly appreciated.
The food as always was very good.
We walked in and it was boiling hot but the waitress said she would look into turning the heater off but then they opened the windows in the middle of winter and it was freezing cold. Found the food took a long time to come out, we ordered entree's and mains within 15mins of sitting down and it took another 1hr 15mins for mains to arrive. At one point we waited 25mins for drinks. Food was nice but then there are a lot of nice Italian restaurants around. Trout was delicious and a standout. Was disappointed as the whole thing was pretty average and we were really looking for a nice lunch.
Firstly although I phoned ( left messages) and emailed to get to talk to someone about appropriate seating with a 7 week old baby, no one returned my msgs. We were given alternative seating to what I booked as I learned HighTop which I booked as not appropriate. We were given an outside seat in a busy noisey and potentially windy area, which I wanted to avoid. All could have been avoided by explaining what the seating description meant or a brief phone call or email.
Great options, great food, great experience! Will definitely be back
