We were welcomed straight away by a waitress who showed us to our table. All staff were friendly, professional and couldn’t have been more helpful. The food was of an excellent standard, presented beautifully and good value for money.
Just want to say a massive thank you to all the staff that was working on Saturday when I came for afternoon tea with my mum.
The staff were amazing through out! Very helpful, friendly and went above and beyond for us!
The afternoon tea was amazing!
Had a lovely meal at the Abbey Hotel courtyard on Saturday. Patio heaters and blankets were a great extra, and the surprise 30th birthday treat was so lovely. Thank you
There used to be a good restaurant at this hotel but this was dreadful. The portions were small, tasteless and straight from a packet. The calamari were burnt, Chicken burgers tasteless and worse than any meal we have had in years. I was totally embarrassed at having suggested this place and stupidly thought that a reduced menu on the terrace reflected a simple efficient way to cater for outside. Other places have done this successfully but this was worse than motorway services food.
Drinks are a bit pricey but the staff were amazing
Unfortunately the microscopic portions did not match the prices or atmosphere. Service was great however I would appreciate if the servings were more generous to match prices. We are from London and used to paying a lot for food but when the bill came for 3 small sides and some drinks it did not seem to add up.
Generally terrible all round. Food was bland. All the veg on the sharing platter was covered in oil. Super salad didn’t have a dressing. Incredibly boring and over priced menu. Staff are all young and obvious, not very tentative. More interested in talking amongst themselves.
Food was very limited, not very much choice for vegetarians but what was available was alright. My partner definitely enjoyed his burger more than I did my salad. The drinks and service were great!! The music was great, it gave a lot of atmosphere.
Wonderful service and great food even when served outdoors!
Great cocktail and snacks - looked after us in the chilly weather with blankets and friendly faces
+ The staff were very polite and helpful
_ Service was very slow, food was stingy and meals were all very overpriced
Extemeley limited menu, no other diners, lacked atmosphere. food ok.
We live in Bath and wanted to have a nice meal for our anniversary.
We have passed by the Abbey Hotel many times and read that in 2018 Marco Pierre White had started a new restaurant there.Although he is no longer there we were not disappointed. The food, service and ambience were excellent.
Had a lovely time at the Artbar at the Abbey Hotel! Lovely service and friendly staff and we was very well looked after and assisted with our meals and drinks.
Definitely would recommend coming back again!
Great sunday lunch and great service. Will definitely come again and happy to recommend it to our friends.
Lovely evening. Bar staff made us custom cocktails that where delicious.
Lovely and welcoming atmosphere. Food was really tasty and a good choice. Very friendly staff, loved them chatting to us and fellow diners. Will defintely return when next in Bath.
Food was good, the hearty stew was amazing. Only downside was the service was very slow.
Main courses very good. Only complaint was chocolate brownie was a little dry. Service was excellent.
Simple menu but great taste, served in an elegant setting. Wood floor, very Georgian and atmospheric.
Sunday Lunch was fabulous! I would highly recommend.
My visit was for a friends birthday.
The staff were helpful and made our afternoon very special. They even came out with a little cake and candle which was a lovey touch.
Lovely food. Good wine selection. Great cocktails. Interesting, eclectic art. Casual ambience.
Limited menu due to Covid but food was good and reasonably priced. Service was a little slow but friendly. Good Covid procedures in place.
Beautiful intimate bar setting, really approachable friendly staff but some long waiting periods for service. Great value and a lovely drinks and puddings menu.
Afternoon tea - sandwiches could have been better, also would have been nice to have another savoury item included. Sweet treats were average have experienced better. Scone was good. For the price of £26 would have expected more in quality. Lucky it was eat out to help out, as £13 was what it was worth.... Service was very slow, we waited some time for the afternoon tea to arrive, even though we booked specifically for afternoon tea....
Very basic and uninspired menu, staff were hugely professional.
Food was very average and basic, seems like most things are bulk brought and not much effort put into the food. Mixed service, some staff lovely others and not a lot of smiles from other staff members.
Food was very nice. We had afternoon tea. The cake selection was a little lacking but overall it was good. Service was brilliant from all staff we encountered. We got to take the left overs with us which was good too. Would recommend 👍
Booked table for 4 in advance, confirmed we would attend and noted if we didn't we would be charged £10 per person, so expected a table. Arrived to be shown to the bar area and not the restaurant as we had booked. Waited for over 15 mins before catching someone's attention to try to order. The only person that paid us any notice was one of the cocktail bar staff. Ordered poached eggs on toast as one starter and humus with bread as another. They arrived fairly quickly. However, we were not given any cutlery and had to once again get someone's attention to ask for knives and forks to eat our food. The waitress we asked questioned why we needed cutlery!!!! However, 2-3 mins later, came back with cutlery for us. Our main meals took over 40 mins to arrive. They were simple orders (burger + chips, fish + chips etc) plus a veggie option of lentils, courgette spaghetti and sweet potatoes. The quality of the food was terrible and did not match the description given on menu, but instead scaled down heavily to what can only be presumed as the hotel trying to maximize on profits from the eat out to help out deal. The veggie dish consisted of 4 spoonfuls of lentils, about 1/4 of a small sweet potato and literally one strand of courgette. By now it was past 8pm and having travelled all day with two teenage son's, did not relish the thought of trying to order any more food. However once again we had to seek the attention of the cocktail bar staff to get the bill. We Informed him we were incredibly disappointed with the food and service. Bizarrely he initially thought we were joking! We assured him this was not the case and told him why we were so dismayed. He agreed that the veggie dish was not up to any standard and excused this by saying it wasn't a popular dish and it was being removed from the menu! He was kind enough to reduce our bill by the cost of that veggie dish. We paid our bill and left to go to a nearby supermarket to buy sandwiches as all still hungry!!!
Food was awful
Service was terrible
Great, friendly and helpful service and lovely food .
We were early. Finished work and headed straight to the Art Bar for two very good moijtos. Quiet in town and in the hotel but we felt safe and looked after. Moving on to the dining room. The menu was a bit limited but we both opted for the halloumi and mushroom burger which was a good choice. The wine was excellent as was the espresso martini.
Recently refurbished and lovely inside but did lack a bit of ambience but that may be due to no music at the moment and distancing. Food was good but limited menu and I feel it could have been more inventive and exciting. It was very good value on eat out to help out but maybe not so much if paying full price. In a prime area with some outside seating so could be great if they can get the a slightly more attractive menu and ambience going. Lovely smiley staff.
We waited over an hour for hummus and bread, and then still had to keep reminding the staff. We were starving by the time our main course arrived. Food was average, service not great. They did give us a free dessert to compensate and were apologetic but would not go back again. Second time visiting, the first time was better as we were sat outside and the weather was great but food menu is quite limited. Nice spot for a drink instead
Love food and drinks, team was super attentive. Would definitely go there again!
Absoloutley wonderful experience! Very attentive team and amazing food and cocktails!
The restaurant was beautiful in decor and we loved it. It was also Air conditioned and so that added to our comfort. The service was just ok. No one was in there and we had to ask for cutlery when the food came...come on, that should have been on the table from the beginning. I think other than that, would go again. Menu was good but could be even more improved.
Great food and service!
Food was very average and tasteless .There was a long wait for food .Service was ok .
