Our restaurant's name, A Touch of Salt, is a play on our family name, Brine. In 2005, we started as a family business, and our family-style approach of offering genuine hospitality and meals designed for conversation has always been the heart of A Touch of Salt. Over the years, we have perfected our restaurant to become one of the best casual fine-dining restaurants in the North.

We take pride in being appreciated by the locals of Townsville as well as travellers from all over Australia.

The food and service were excellent! Chefs even went to the trouble of writing “Happy Anniversary “ in chocolate onto our dessert plate. As the restaurant fills inside the noise level does rise significantly, but not enough to stop us going there. It is just too good!

Great hospitality by Nhu and Azure. The food was amazing . The entree, starter and mains portions appeared but were quite filling. If you are looking for something different, we highly recommend this restaurant 👌🏾

After an exceptional dining experience the month prior I ordered the same dish (Pork Belly) only for it to arrive looking distinctly like a slice of rolled roast and not in fact a pork belly cut. Taste was still very good but much smaller/lighter meat portion serving by comparison to the actual pork belly the month prior.

Came in for my partner’s birthday. The staff made the evening so special and gave great service. Food was extraordinary and to be completely honest, some of the best meals we had ever eaten. Recommend this to anyone chasing a fine dining experience and I most definitely recommend this to everyone to try at least once.

My husband and I had a really great time. We had a 3 course meal with was fabulous, including the glass of wine which the waitress suggested. We sat outside looking at the water view, feeling very relaxed. The two waitress who served us were amazing and even the owner came over for a chat. We will definitely be back.

Beautiful restaurant setting with amazing staff and service! We began our evening with amazing aperitif following on with a lovely pinot gris. The starters we ordered were the scallops, cuttlefish and the Morton Bay Bug. The scallops were amazing - beautiful flavours and cooked to perfection. The cuttlefish was ok, bit chewy and salty, and not enough aioli ratio to cuttlefish. It kind of reminded me of the craze of calamari and cuttlefish in restaurants from a decade ago. The Morton Bay bug was cooked well and was menu'd to be served with a paella. However the paella was actually a fried 'very crispy' rice patty which detracted from the creaminess of a traditional paella and didn't particularly pair well with the soft flesh of bug. For mains we ordered the pork belly - it was rolled and the skin wasn't crackled so was difficult to cut into, however the mash accompaniment was lovely. The other main was the prawn pasta which while flavourful, it was quite unimpressive and the sauce on the dry side. I felt like the description of this dish read better on the menu to what it actually was. Overall, we were so excited to be returning to our favourite restaurant, however we found the food to be pretty average in comparison to our past memories.
