I miss the former pastry chef since the desserts are not as good as they used to be. They also need one or two more waiters during peak hours. Still remains one of my favorites in the area.
We celebrated our anniversary here and the food was phenomenal. It was one of the best meals that we have ever had and to think this gem is right in our own backyard! The cocktail selection was fantastic and we quite enjoyed the “je ne sais quoi” We will definitely be back and cannot wait to see what Chef Bertrand will think of!
We celebrated our anniversary at 2941. What a special evening. Great menu ( the Lobster Fettuccini was totally amazing). We were seated at a wonderful table...we felt like we were in a garden setting! The wait staff and others were attentive but never overwhelming ...they treated us beautifully...even giving us a personalized menu, signed by their fantastic Chef. We e spent many special meals at 2941. We go back to its beginnings....we’ve never been disappointed. Thanks 2941!
Great place for special occasions. Food, service, ambience, valet parking in a quiet part of Falls Church. Very pricy though, especially with wine pairings. 2 people will run you $400 easy, so I personally can only visit once a year at that price point.
2941 is unique and special in so many ways- the food is outstanding- thank you to the Chef for your unique and scrumptious dishes; the location is beautiful and you are surrounded by gorgeous artwork inside. The Glass windows are stunning. Our servers were wonderful- a big shout out to Julio. Our family dinner was so special. I have also been here for 2 events- a wedding and a bar mitzvah... 2941 was truly perfect! I'm lucky to be so close by...
I took my granddaughter for dinner for her 18th birthday. It was a lovely experience. Our waiter was excellent. He was prompt, knowledgeable and courteous. We started with tuna tartar which was delicious, followed by the special which was king crab and pasta in the most divine sauce. For dessert we ordered cocoa puff, I think that we the name.
The ambiance, food and service are consistently superior!
The setting is beautiful both inside and out. The service is impeccable. The food, especially the tomato soup, is delicious and is served in interesting, pleasing to the eye details. Room temperature butter accompanied the bread assortment. The caramel corn was a bonus treat! A truly enjoyable place for a meal.
Delicious dinner with wonderful desserts especially the chocolate "rose". Gorgeous setting and excellent service
Disappointing Mother's Day special fixed-price meal. The only good thing was the wine (Station Ranch chardonnay). I wanted the seafood app with only shrimp and lobster (no clams or geoduck). Waiter said chef would not allow! So I had to settle for avocado and crab salad, which didn't have any avocado per se, but rather a pureed avocado smeared on the dish. Roasted chicken and lobster main course was nothing special--they listed lobster first, but there was much more chicken than lobster. Cheesecake dessert was sort of a sandwich -- not very flavorful. Others with me were also disappointed in their meals.
Mother’s Day highway robbery. $700 for brunch with 5 alcoholic drinks. Soooo not worth it. Food is good, but not that good.
Had dinner Friday night, I haven't been here in at least 5 years, but I've always had a great experience at 2941 and this still remains to be true. The restaurant always impresses me with creative dishes, amazing craft cocktails and a beautiful view with floor to ceiling windows. My two closest friends joined me and it was their first time, they loved it as much as I did.
Definitely a fine dining experience, but the food quality justifies the expense and the atmosphere is the right balance of lively without being noisy. Can't wait to go back.
I've heard good things about this restaurant and it lived up to my expectations. Our cocktails were excellent as well as the food. Staff was attentive the view was beautiful. We started with Tuna Tartar and the calamari. The calamari was fried to perfection, light and not oily. The tuna was delicious, chopped with just the right amount of saltiness and flavoring but still letting the tuna flavor through. The duck breast was excellent, the slices of duck were thick and cooked perfectly. My husband opted for the rockfish which was also excellent. We ended with the fun and delicious baked Alaska and a complimentary dessert (we didn't know what it was but it was good) for our anniversary. We're definitely coming back.
The food and service was amazing. The bar and space was BEAUTIFUL. Jeff, the manager, and Nikki, the somm, and bartender, were SO helpful and informative about the menu. I will recommend to all my friends who are looking for a more intimate bar scene or dining experience.
Fantastic. The cocktails are creative, and a feast for the eye. The desserts are among the best I’ve had. This place never disappoints.
Anniversary: Great restaurant, the service was wonderful and the food amazing.
Service and the food were marvelous! We finished every plate we ordered. The portions are just right.
The restaurant is completely in the nature. if you’re a nature lover, you would love it. The restaurant is a complete experience with large windows and mirrors. I would definitely recommend it for the experience of it. Definitely good for a date and special occasion!
This was a birthday lunch with a new friend, who had not been here in a while, and was reminded how wonderful the place is. Great ambiance, wonderful service, fabulous food, and a surprise birthday treat at the end, just to make it perfect.
Always love my visits!
My husband and I celebrated our 14yr anniversary at 2941 Restaurant. We had a very nice time. The scenery was very pretty and the koi pond was beautiful. Our server Julio was amazing ! The food was very good but average for a high end restaurant. I have a nut and raw egg allergy and I do recommend servers ask if there are any allergies at the table. Luckily my husband has been a chef for 20 years and helps me navigate through my allergies. The tastung menu and dessert menu was limited for me due to this.
Haven't been here for a while, and I'm kicking myself. It was a perfect experience. The manicotti was unique - looked like rigatoni stuffed with herbed ricotta, in a mushroom sauce with porcini mushrooms. Absolutely delicious! I'd go back to have just that and a glass of wine. It would be enough for a lighter dinner. Our waiter encouraged us to try the fiddlehead ferns. I was skeptical, but he was right. They're very much like a curled up green bean, with a different flavor that I can't put my finger on. 2941 served them nestled in a lemony yogurt sauce, which was perfect. We shared the special entree of the night "earth and ocean" (cute name) steak and lobster. It was yummy, and the accompanying sauces were great, but I was surprised at how small the portion was for $55. Didn't matter because the Baked Alaska for dessert was extraordinary. This seems to be back on menus now after a, what, 40-year hiatus. We've ordered it several places in the last year or so, and this is the best version we've had. The setting at 2941 is lovely - huge windowed walls looking out on foliage, two fireplaces in the dining room, feels secluded. You'd never know it's on the bottom floor of an office building. Love that the corkage is only $30. Yeah, that feels high, but it allowed me to drink one of our last 2000 Bordeaux's on my birthday with a fantastic dinner.
Very nice meal, but a little pricey. Delicious tuna tartar and calamari for appetizers and then steak, haddock and chicken for the main course. Everything was a little salty.. Dessert was delicious, brownie and happy Birthday sweet for my wife. Overall the meal was delicious and the service even better.
This is an excellent place. The food was outstanding. There is great ambience. Service was fantastic. I would highly recommend
We had the April chef's seven course tasting menu as a birthday celebration and it was perfect. The sommelier's wine pairing was excellent but for one wine that I didn't like and he graciously poured me a substitute. The service was measured and attentive and friendly. The first course, cobia tataki had a garnish of pickled rhubarb that paired remarkably well with a "sake sangria" cocktail made with Sake, cava, and rhubarb!
A superb meal. Everything was perfect.
Beautiful location, exceptional service, nice plating, delicious food.
Hadn’t been there for many years and wasn’t disappointed. The food and service were excellent for our lunch. Still such a beautiful restaurant and setting.
While 2941 is not cheap, it is the best food I've had in the Washington, DC area. We had duck, and it was outstanding. We also had the tuna appetizer and salad, both of which are highly recommended. The baked Alaska was terrific. We're looking for another holiday to celebrate at 2941.
We had a terrific Easter dinner at 1789. The chef produces amazing dishes for every course. Even though we took a late seating on the holiday, everything was available and our French server was wonderful. It had been a while since we've been here, and so glad to put it on the list of top, gourmet dining.
The setting is so pretty - contemporary, set in nature.
I've made hundreds of reservations and eaten at scores of restaurants since first joining OpenTable in 2005, but I have never had a more enjoyable dining experience than the one my family and I had on Easter Sunday 2019. Although limited holiday prix fixe offerings are generally not my favorite, the menu selections were varied and showed an attention to detail that made it difficult to decide which dish to choose. Each option exceeded expectations as to what a fine Euro-French restaurant must deliver. The lamb, prime steak, scallops and haddock with their sauces and accompaniments delighted all six of our guests and family members, including my 2-year old granddaughter. Our service was excellent--well-paced with just the right amount of attention, not overbearing at all, but right there when needed. The decor and overall ambiance were perfect, despite the restaurant's location in a suburban office park setting. It's the perfect place for a special celebration, an intimate romantic encounter, or a high-stakes business dinner.
A holiday meal at 2941 Restaurant is guaranteed to make the day festive.
Enjoyed impeccable service and amazing food. My dining partner thought it was better than the top-rated restaurants he ate at in France. As someone who doesn't care for sweets, I was delighted to be served a dessert that looked like artwork and tasted divine. Looking forward to going again!
My guest and I had the 4 course tasting menu for $75 each. I was very disappointed given the price in the size portion and in some dishes in the quality of food. There was a $15 upcharge for the calamari (which was a course chosen in the tasting menu) which came as a surprise to me on the bill since I did not see the upcharge (“sup 15”) in small print at the end of the description line on the menu. And it was not pointed out to us at ordering.
If I go back, I would not chose the tasting menu. Terrible value.
The restaurant is lovely, great setting, great service. Stay away from the tasting menu.
Top notch service. Lovely ambience. Baked Alaska a real treat.
Great views and amazing food!
We love the feel of 2941 -- those floor to ceiling windows, the gentle fireplace. It's a truly lovely space. The service is quite excellent. And the food is good to very good, but...honestly, we've had better and for a lot less money. We shared the calamari (yummy, but it's hard to screw up calamari) and tuna tartare (ok, that one was delish), and then several of us had the venison loin (good...but not exceptional), the ribeye (very good), and various fish dishes (good flavors in the halibut special). The desserts were fun, especially the cherry bombe. Surely you could mix in a few bottles of wine that were under $65...
Still and all in all: it's still a great view, a great place for a special occasion. Just wish the food had a trifle more "pop" for the price we paid (about $130 per person).
Very special birthday dinner beginning to end. Delicious and elegantly served in one of the prettiest settings in the area. Always our first choice for a special occasion.
We went there for our son's birthday. All three of us had excellent meals. We often find that restaurants with a good reputation disappoint in some respect, but 2941 lived up to its stellar reputation. The fish was super fresh and deliciously prepared. The soup was outstanding, as were the deserts. A very satisfying experience.
What I enjoyed the most were the dessert , we loved it . Also the customer service . The dishes , we ordered fish which was good. Then my husband ordered chicken with rice on a butter cream I believe. It was alright . Overall we loved the customer service and the desserts
Great food and service willing to cater to specific dietary needs.
Lunch was perfect. The food was above expectations and the service was exceptional.
Love 2941. Beautiful, airy space, interesting menu and consistently good food.
