23rd Street Distillery
The food was excellent, we’ll definitely be back!
great alternative for renmark. support it. open Sunday nights👍
We were told upon arrival that it was table service, but were then ignored after ordering drinks. We had to flag down the waiting staff to order food and they were visibly annoyed at being asked if we could place our meal order. I tried to order a second drink but was told by multiple waiting staff that they were busy so I gave up. The food was terrible, gluggy overcooked pasta, we both left half of our meals. I don't give reviews but this was so bad I had to, it was like a comedy show. The venue is nice but staff were terrible, excluding the man who greeted us and took our payment.
The atmosphere was fantastic. We booked a table assuming we would be outside but we booked inside. We chose to sit outside. The line was long to order but the service was fantastic. There was a little mix up in my order due to communication but very quickly and easily fixed. The gin was delicious and we had a fantastic time. Didn't order food so cannot comment. Toilets were clean and lovely. We will be back :)
Not a lot of variety but what we had was so tasty and delicious.
Would recommend for sure we have also had lunch which we had pizza which was also amazing full of flavors.
Looking forward to going back again
Excellent food, mostly good service, was a bit loud when we went with live music playing very hard to hear each other but other than that great atmosphere
Food was quite good but as it was my second visit within a month or so, the physical menus were starting to look a bit tired and in need of refreshment. The food choices are starting to be a little limited, additional dishes would fix that. Table service was quite good, though it was not a busy evening being a Thursday.
Service was exceptional. The waitresses were all lovely, very friendly. I believe they were understaffed on the night but they did a fantastic job. The meals and drinks are a little in the expensive side but not really any more expensive than anywhere else of the standard they are offering. We (3 ladies on a girls weekend) had a very enjoyable meal here. We would definitely recommend and will come back here again.
Quality meals unfortunately the service let us down. With 6 customers in the venue, us being 4 of them we thought staff would serve, clear and ask how things were more than they did, or even maybe table service since it was such a quiet night. There was a lot of staff on for how quiet it was and we just saw them chatting in between themselves most of the time we were there. They were friendly but we expected more.
First time at this establishment, we received most of our table service from one person and he was outstanding. The food was good and well priced, although my guests did comment on excessive oil used on veg pizzas and my saffron rice was somewhat 'gluggy'. What did not help was small exuberant children wandering around the tables and an excessive amount of flies looking for a free meal. Lovely surroundings and will attend again.
We had the tasting plate, it was delicious and good for a light snack. The service was good and the tasting flights were great :)
The staff were lovely helpful. Talked to us about the tastings and how best to experience it. Food was fine dinning. Such a relaxed dinning experience. So lovely we came back the next day for a tour of the distillery and lunch.
Sadly, this time Our 23rd Street wasn’t up to scratch. Service wasn’t as great, the food was sad. The barramundi was cold when it was pan seared so we assumed it was hot, my chicken was ok but the cauliflower purée and veg were stone cold. Other than being asked once on arrival for drinks, thereafter we had to go the bar ourselves. Luke was the only one offering good service from the moment we arrived. I will go back, hoping that next time some details have improved. I hope this is read as constructive criticam and not taken in a negative way
Hello Tina, thank you for your review - we do appreciate it and are thankful that you've taken the time to give us constructive feedback. Saturday night was our biggest restaurant night to date and I think this contributed to some of the problems that you've indicated. We do aim to provide complete table service so we will be working hard on this over the next few weeks, ensuring food is hot when it reaches the table. Looking forward to your next visit when I hope you find we've improved!
Definitely worth a visit. Gin tasting was very well done. Lots of life in the building which is well done as well.
Very noisy and food sides not bought out with other mains, otherwise excellent
I enjoyed and appreciated the tour. Adored the Palate Liberator of a selection of a variety of spirits with refreshing Bickfords soda water. Quiet for chatting, soft music in the background. No fuss staff willing to answer questions. Up market, funky environment to relax and sip away.
Thankyou to Luke & staff for looking after us with the attention & care that is refreshing to find when going out for dinner, well be back for sure.
We had a great night overall, amazing drinks and setting.
We enjoyed the food, however it is on the pricier side for the Riverland. Our waiter was unsure of how many serves were in the side salads, we ordered 2 for 4 people which was probably a bit much. I think having an option of 2 serves and then an option of 4 would be better. Especially for smaller groups. The food itself was delicious though, and well presented.
There was a band playing which sounded great but was a bit too loud. It was difficult to hear each other at our table. If the music had been a quieter the ambiance would have been prefect.
the food was delicious, the staff attentive but not overpowering, the only downer might be the fact that it was a bit hard to hear conversation at our table because echoes in the building were quite loud
This was our second time eating here and we were a bit disappointed with our experience. Errors with our meals - first meal came out and then a delay before next meals arrived, mix up in food order, duck was not crispy skinned, ordered and paid for cocktails and they forgot to make them. Staff are really friendly, love the atmosphere but there are a few issues that need to be sorted. I will come again to give them another try.
Brilliant food and great service. Can’t wait to go back again.
