Great food, wonderful staff
Relaxing with enjoyable view.
Loved the stuffed dates and smoked salmon appetizers. The scallops entree was divine, but the pasta bolognese was disappointing - overcooked pasta, not enough meat and meat was not ground. I would definitely not recommend that dish! Otherwise, the inn and dining room are beautiful, the view was lovely and overall it was a great dining experience!
Amazing food and great service!
Best place we have dined in years! The bar experience was so friendly and entertaining. The entire staff was exceedingly professional. The food was excellent! The view spectacular. We are already planning to return soon with friends.
We sat outside and the view was great. The service was outstanding and they really paid attention to the special needs of the guests. The food was excellent but I think that the prices are a bit high. I would not go there every day, but for "occasions" it would be very high on the list.
We had an excellent meal with the perfect setting as the sun set over Cayuga. It was an excellent date night for my wife and I. We cannot wait for our next experience at 1833 Kitchen.
Dining with you on our 38th anniversary was a great experience. All we could hope for! Thank you.
Fabulous food, fabulous service and fabulous ambiance!
Great dinner with lakefront views. I would definitely recommend it!
My appetizer was the grilled pork belly (Korean?). It was ll fat, no meat. Very disappointing although the sauce and accompaniments were tasty. My entree was the Arctic Char. The fish was tasty and it was served with potato fingerlings. The amount of accompaniment was disappointing. The fish was cooked just to the point of being overdone but not overdone.
My wife had the pasta Bolognaise. She said it tasted like it was a reheated dish, that the pasta was clearly overcooked. At the conclusion of dinner we asked for a limoncello. The bar did not have any? Really? The selection of other after dinner drinks was disappointing.
Lovely setting. Great waitress. Nice touch with the complimentary champagne was a nice touch.
A great setting does not make up for mediocre food.
A lovely brunch out on the deck with fabulous food and wonderful service. We love meeting friends at the Aurora Inn.
Overpriced and low quality. Waitress was young, lacking experience and had too many tables. The only beer that is available are craft beers none of which I recognized. We ordered the Burrata as an appetizer. The amount of Olive Tapenade that was included in it was so small it was hard to find on the plate. Six tiny pieces of toast were included that were so hard I was afraid I would break a tooth. We both ordered the Boston Seafood Chowder which had excellent flavor with a lot of haddock, shrimp and scallops. We were not offered or given crackers while tables around us were given them when their soup was served. The grilled chicken wrap and sliced roast beef were forgettable except for the lack of chicken and roast beef. The bread the roast beef was served on was very dry. We each ordered desserts one of which was the special of the day - a strawberry rhubarb crisp that did not have any rhubarb flavor at all. A hot fudge sundae was small with very little hot fudge and ice cream that was poor in quality. The total LUNCH bill for this was an extarodinary $110 before tip. All in all, a truly disappointing experience that I do not want to have ever again. I would avoid this establishment.
The food is pricey, but of good quality, and the venue is charming with lovely grounds and views of Cayuga Lake.
Great experience for 60 something ladies group birthday lunch in August. Gorgeous venue and we lucked out with street parking right in front. Sat on verandah. Rachel was awesome server and took care of us very well. Food was very good we each got cold summer salad. Wish micro greens/veggie proportion larger but grilled chix on top was perfectly grilled and cheese and exec quality. Wine list excellent. We shared a bottle of New Zealand Sav Blanc that was delicious plenty of fruit balanced with a mineral finish. Delish
Had lunch, dinner and breakfast in the beautiful setting. Lunch on the terrace (lobster roll and club salad) was excellent. Enjoyed the local pale ale beer. Breakfast's French toast was rich but delicious. Dinner was fine, but not as good as the other meals, perhaps because we had small plates. The fish chowder was excellent, and should have doubled the size to make it a dinner portion. Tuna appetizer could have been a little tastier, but was nicely fresh. Stuffed dates were yummy; my husband and I shared a plate of 4 and that was plenty.
Great bartender!! The stuffed dates were spectacular
Unfortunately we were entertained by a couple playing a guitar and singing. The volume was much too loud for the space. We were unable to converse while dining. This should be something you correct in the future. A great meal was made less pleasant. How can we be made aware of this type of entertainment when booking in the future?
Hotel restaurants are rarely this good! The food was outstanding
Food was just over seasoned/sauced. They are not good at bringing out the flavor of the ingredients (i.e. the protein, starch, or vegetables).
Everything was lovely. My only comment would be that there wasn't much crème in the Crème Brulée.
Otherwise everything was fine.
We especially enjoyed sitting by the lake before dinner.
We had our wedding reception at aurora in 2015 and since have moved away. But we visit the area annually and try to visit the inn or restaurant. It was a lovely evening and we sat outside. The wedding reception below was pretty loud but it added rather than detracted from the experience. The food, as always, was excellent and the service wonderful. We'll be back!
Excellent food, service and atmosphere. Can not beat the deck on a beautiful summer evening.
Tonight was a special date night with my husband. When we arrived we settled into the bar for a perfect cocktail before dinner. The bartender was great and the company at the bar made for pleasant conversation. We dined outside on the deck and enjoyed an absolutely fabulous meal overlooking the beautiful view of Cayuga Lake. It was a great evening!!
My friends and I love to dine at The Aurora Inn and visit at least once every summer. It was a beautiful day by the lake. We ordered stuffed dates for an appetizer: they were exquisite and can't wait to try them again. The shrimp rolls we ordered for lunch were quite average; we were not impressed. Tables were bare wood: plaacemats would have been nice touch in such an elegant surrounding. Overall presentation also average.
Beautiful restaurant with great ambience and beautiful view of Cayuga Lake. Food is always good and creative. Great spot.
Wonderful food in a lovely relaxed setting. Gracious service. Reasonable prices
We loved sitting on the patio overlooking the lake, & enjoyed exceptional service! Our lunch salads — beet salad w/chicken and Cobb salad w/steak — were delicious though on the small side & would have been better served with small rolls, crackers or a small piece of bread.
My party all ordered the Lobster rolls for lunch to which they seem satisfied with. I ordered the eggplant wrap which was just ok. It said it had pesto on it, but could have used more as there was no flavor. Beautiful location, service was good. Beer menu could be improved, limited options. Wine list is very good. Will try it again for dinner.
wonderful experience can not wait to return, the food was outstanding and the service and professionalism of the staff made the night memorable
Friends were visiting from abroad and we wanted to have a special dinner. 1833 Kitchen and Bar did not disappoint. From the moment we sat down we were treated to perfection in hospitality. Our waitress was warm and professional in equal measure. The food was out of this world. The meal was paced nicely and requests for special accommodations were cheerfully and creatively met. Of course, the view of the water was the proverbial cherry on top. Speaking of sundaes. Yours is the best we have ever had. Thank you for making us look like superstars for picking the perfect place.
Excellent service excellence in all areas.
Stopped here for dinner on our way home from a day trip around Cayuga lake. Beautiful inn right on the lake! It was a lovely night so we sat on the deck over-looking the water. Service was friendly and attentive. We enjoyed a bottle of wine from the Finger Lakes, fresh baked bread (with a delicious oil and vinegar dip), salads: Beet and multi-grain (which was amazing!) then my husband had the seasonal fish (Atlantic Char) and I had the Dicer Scallops (both phenomenal)! We shared the strawberry-rhubarb crisp for dessert which did not disappoint! Overall a lovely evening and delicious dinner! Already making plans to return and spend more time!
The food presentation was outstanding. The taste was first rate.
On vacation with family and the dinner was very special
Will definitely go back!
Wonderful place, great service, great food, amazing view, great place for celebrations or just lunch, dinner any day.
Have had great meals at 1883.. breakfast lunch and dinner
we were lucky to sit outside in a sunny day. The lobster was quite good but there was not much of it. The scallops were amazing while the artic char was disappointing . The berries crisp was amazing. Ambiance is quiet and pleasant
Very good kitchen/chef and presentation. A little noisy at lunchtime with tables close together.
